those having problems with it could find the software "ConvertX to DVD" It converts ix movies such as this to regular dvd format. I found it here on Mininova. downloaded it, converted and it's a good quality movie

Amii21. VLC player is a great media for playing lots of different formats.
Iv used it to play many DL's that WMP wont play and it never fails.

oh...never mind...new codecs work great...the quality isn't that of a DVD but a bit less...i'd say 9/10.

I have never had a problem it has all the features, even re-sync sound/subtitles AND you can press number pad 8 to widen or 2 to decrease and that makes watching and resizing so simple for newbies

BTW VLC Player is good if you don't use MS Windows
But be warned it has security vulnerability issues in versions prior to the very latest with the Active X plugin
- So get the NEW one - *if you don't use Windows

Just fin downloadin it (took all night), on first look, played on the comp it looks to be a 10/10 dvdrip and well worth the download time.

Thanks for a quality movie, regardless of what anyone has said the vid quality is as good as you get and the sound is outstanding even better in suround. The movie cranked straight up on the WMP and I watched it right through without a glinch...Quality stuff keep 'em coming champ.

This was a good movie. Now I don't know if there was an alternate ending or something like that but this is not the same ending as the one i saw in theatres. No offense but the other ending was much better mainly

He doesnt die in the version i saw and they stress the fact that everything that happened in 1408 actually did happen and he writes a book about it.

Mate... it was really disappointing for me as well. I didn't watch the movie at the theaters... and i just watched the movie tonight. Saw the ending and thought... oh that was a bit average. Then i went on wikipedia... and apparently in the ending the guy doesn't die? The pull him out of the fire or something? I was like ****... why the hell was the one that i downloaded the alternate ending to the movie???
It seems like the one that was in the movies was the better ending. It ****s that they put the alternate ending to this rip...

Yes people this is the Alternate Ending version of 1408, I liked both endings but the Theatrical version was a lot better. I have been looking for it everywhere with no luck. I guess this is just one that will have to be purchased. Also, I really wish that people would post with their torrents on what version they are releasing.

To repeat what some have said:

This is the Director's Cut version, and the quality is very good. I had NO problem playing it using vlc. Also, this is a better version than the KLAXXON release which appears to be an R5 release with annoying black bars top and bottom.

One more thing,,,If it's your player not reconizing the film then it is your fault not the uploaders...The uploader does this for you so do have some respect. If you think the torrent is **** simply find another, it's obvious you don't know what you are doing anyways... >-)

ArchieR2 reason why its not good quality is prolly cause u have a ****py video player! VLC is the best Video player! No Codec's Required!! Period! Window's Media Player ****s cause most of the time it will give you a Codec Error!! Also VLC plays Music at the finest!!
