for the complete n00bz out there
After downloads finish use daemon tools, alcohol 120, magicdisc, poweriso etc(programs) to mount the starcraft.iso file.
Use the cd key to install (if you use this cd key u probably can't play online)
after that finishes mount the broodwar.iso file
after that installs use the broodwar update to patch the game to its newest version.
keep at least one .iso file to play or go to www.gameburnworld.com to download a no cd crack, make sure its for the same version 1.151

Okay I have had heaps of troubles with this I guess you could call me noob but if you could please help me out...
Okay well I downloaded everything and then mounted on MagicISO and ran the INSTALL.EXE for Starcraft then did INSTALL.EXE for Brood War and I patched everything up... (still have the downloaded files with me and stuff) but it keeps saying that something is missing and make sure I have the cd in so I went on gameburnworld to get a game fix and I downloaded the 1.15 fix and it says incorrect program version and nothing works please help me somebody :?

There is no NO-CD patch in this torrent. You can still mount the ISO image with MagicISO as you did to install the game.

Remember that you have to mount the Starcraft ISO to play the Starcraft version, and if you want to play the Broodwar Expansion version you'll need to mount the Broodwar ISO.

About gameburnworld, I see they have the 1.15 NO-CD patch. The patch in the torrent is the most recent one so far: version 1.15.1. So the patch from gameburnworld may not work with this version.

BY THE WAT, In all HOnesty, this game is so good that I do not even have to mount any images. I ONLY CLICK ON THE ICON TITLED "LOADER" AND THE program starts me at the menu where I choose to play the Starcraft game or the Brood Wars expansion. so how are some of you having to mount any images at all after extracting? just extract and save in a diferent folder, then click the "loader" thats it !

For the uter noob; what I did was I first download using utorrent, then I downloaded poweriso from mininova using utorrent. I mounted starcraft and starcraft broodwar
on my drives, opened the file of starcraft and installed it.
That's how to do it. I don't know how to play online

there's no .ISO, there is a SETUP.EXE and is no necessary to mount any .ISO, but i cant play, it asks cd..

There are ISOs in this torrent.

I downloaded it, burned it with power ISO, and all that. This is not the first ISO i've worked with, and I've never had any trouble. this one though, when i run the game says I'm missing the CD.

What to do, anyone have this problem? Anyone ever get around it?

yep it works but only on single player with the serials. you need to buy the whole game for a serial that works online for the rest it works great

ps: don't burn a iso file! just mount it so you comp thinks their is a cd in with deamon tools or magic iso!

It's too bad there's no patch to play this online. I know when I DLed Halo, it came with a patch to get past the online check. You might be able to find a keygen for this, that will create a new unused CD Key, but it's a long shot.

I downloaded everything and have both Starcraft and Broodwar on their respective CDs. Starcraft starts up just fine, but it says that I need to purchase the full version of Starcraft to play the single player missions.

Other posters seem to have gotten the single-player game running just fine; what all do I need to do to run it?

Just get a muted starcraft CD key (Only difference between this and a normal one is you cant speak in channels but you can speak to people ingame and you can play on battlenet with both). Google it yourself be a lazy ass and ask others for it.

I recommend using poweriso www.poweriso.com . You dont need to pay for it or anything. Just run poweriso virtual drive manager, then right click on broodwar or starcraft iso file and click mount drive. And bam no need to burn or any hassles.

to all the users out there that don't like cracks, but prefer mini images.
don't dispair use sdhide (safediskhide)it works a bit like yasu and sometimes you'll need them both to get the game to run.it's allot easier.
and by the by poweriso's great at extracting creating iso's but shyte at mounting them use daemon tools. Also if you get any nocd errors turn all options on so the icon goes green. that along with gamecopyworld should be everything a gamer needs to know.

Don’t bother trying to mount iso because it didn’t work for me.
I tried 5 different kinds of mounting software and not 1 of them worked. :(
To play SinglePlayer do the following:
1.) Install games and patch them
2.) Go to game gamecopyworld.com
3.) Download the StarCraft: Broodwar v1.15.1 No-CD EXE
4.) Use the reg file and storm.dll and it should work :)

Listen up Knuckleheads!

1st This download is just fine. It mounts with deamon tools
2nd Not only did this mount just fine, but it also played just fine!!!

So, no no-cd patch is required. If the game is asking for a Cd, maybe
turn on the EMULATION settings in deamon tools? Duh!

Also, for the record, i did run the broodwar patch, and yes, the game still plays off the ISO's. No problems at all noted with this download, and for the others, please just shut up, or learn how to use your computer.

The latest patch (not the one included in the torrent) which is 1.15.2 solves all of your problems. You can download it from the official Blizzard's page here :

And you don't need a CD in your drive or mounted iso files anymore. No additional cracks or patches are necessary. The guys from Blizzard made it perfectly clear which of the two available patches is the one you need as well how to make it work without a CD, here :

Thanks!!! Works great. The only problem I have is I am running Vista and when I start the game it's in a box in the center of the screen. Changing resolution won't do anything and running the game under an older versioon of Windows doesn't seem to do anything either. What can i do to make the game full screen???

These are simplified instructions on how to install the files and play the single player game. They;re especially useful for everyone using WinRAR, and complaining that they cannot find the .iso file.

- First, download the torrent.. obviously
- Next, download Daemon tools and 'mount' the Starcraft original WinRAR file onto ur drive (google 'mount .iso files daemon tools' for detailed instructions). This should imitate the insertion of an actual cd
- Install the files from your CD DRIVE, patch and play.

Basically, if you want to play sc original, you have to mount the sc original winRAR file, and if you want to play broodwar, you have to mount the broodwar winRAR file.

Insert CD1 for first 3 SP episodes and CD2 for another 3 episodes (expansion).

it pops up with a message saying "The CD key used to install this application was intended for another product. Please reinstall the application using the correct CD key".
Does anyone have any good cracks to play battlenet or any 3rd party servers to play online?

Hi. I just downloaded this and tried what post #70 said but either I did it wrong or it didn't work and i'm using Vista and was wondering if anyone could give me a step-by-step instruction after downloading the torrent of what to do.

P.S. if you reference mounting or anything in the steps...I have no clue all this doo-dad about mounting and ISO's lol, so any help on what they are and details on how to get/what to do with them would be appreciated

ok you guys that are having problems, i am here to help. i downloaded this a few days ago and spent nearly 4 hours trying to install it, but i got it. first off, you DO NOT need to use any programs like daemon tools or magicdisc to mount the iso. i will explain why later. but about those who need a CD key. i used the link 3 comments above for the CD key generator. i downloaded the program, got one, and it works, i've been playing on battle.net with it. so use that.

now, about all of you having problems with the please insert the disc message, here's what you do. download the program, extract the files with Winrar and whatever, yada yada yada. then run the installer for starcraft, enter the cd key you got from the generator. repeat for brood war expansion (except you don't have to enter the CD key). NOW, here's where we change it up. don't run the update for 1.15.1 that is included in this download. go to blizzard.com and get the update for 1.15.2. next, follow these instructions:

1) run the update for 1.15.2, when it is done it will say it has successfully updated, then a no disc message will come up. this is fine, it still worked.
2) next, go to the folder where you extracted the files from this download to. this should have the install.exe files and etc. in it.
3) go to the options for windows explorer and uncheck "hide extensions for known file types."
4) now, right click install.exe for the original starcraft (not brood war yet) and copy it.
5) go to the program files (in the c drive) and find your starcraft folder. paste the install.exe in this folder.
6) right click install.exe and click rename. change it to install.mpq
7) repeat steps 2-6, only this time do it with the install.exe for brood war.
8) go ahead and play. it should work perfectly without the disc. if you used the CD key generator, battle.net should work perfectly. have fun!

hey guys, i finally get this game works~~~huh~~~pretty hard, like someone said above it always ask me to insert the cd...here is the way to solve it:
download the no cd patch 1.15.1 in http://www.seedpeer.com/search/starcraft-crack/6/1.html, must be this version, otherwise it will still require the cd
after dl this, release it to ur folder which installed starcraft
then run the game, wow~~~it works

i did exactly what you told me to do in steps 126-128 starcrafthelper, everything went fine until i got the no cd message when trying to run the game for the first time. i'm pretty sure i did everything right the only thing that was different was when i tried to copy the brood war install.exe file (after doing the starcraft install.exe copy then name to install.mpq)to the starcraft folder in program files, i named it install.mpq and it said the name was already taken so it auto named it install (2).mpq. that could be the difference but i dont think you said anything about putting the broodwar install.exe in a different folder. thats the only thing i did different but that could be whats wrong. Any feedback would be appreciated, thanks :)

Guys! Figured the real thing out! I just followed #70's links and it's really the right instructions.. About #127-128's instructions: You should have instructed more accurately... This is how it is...

1. After installation, dl and install latest patch from blizzard (not the one in the torrent).

2.Then, look into both the cds of starcraft(original) and starcraft(broodwar).

3.Copy the file INSTALL.EXE in starcraft(orig) cd and paste into the directory wherein u installed starcraft. Then rename the file to StarCraft.mpq

4.Then copy the file INSTALL.EXE in starcraft(broodwar) cd and paste into the starcraft directory. Then rename the file to BroodWar.mpq..

Everyone seems to be over complicating this. The easiest way to do it is to simply mount the starcraft.rar to install the game just like off the cd. I used Daemon tools to this and it works perfectly. The keygen from the link a couple of comments back above also works perfectly with battle net. Here it is again anyway :

Great upload ArchAngel. Everything works amazingly well and I've had 0 problems so far. For the people having problems with this... I really don't see how that could happen. Just Mount the iso image of starcraft original (I used Deamon Tools lite,) install the game with the cd-key given, install the patch. Hey I'e scanned through everyone else's comments and I havent seen the problem that I've been having. I use the latest version of PowerIso and when i open the starcraft iso it works fine and will extract and read everything correctly but when open the broodwar iso it wont read the install.exe file or anything it shows all the files as that symbol that means your computer doesnt know which program to use to open it. Ive redownloaded starcraft and ive redownloaded powerIso and this problem still persists any helpful hints? :?
