No feedback and over 350 downloads is everyone finding this easy enougth to install.

mickbrush as a Demonoid man myself this is what we do, we give feedback. Your upload is excallent it worked well
I must say the instructions are fine, could be better but this is the real deal thanks. The fist line could read to make it clearer to folks that they must copy the Garmin folder from the torrent on to the phone's memory card. I did not have a problem with unlocking the GPS but some thing to note is that folks may have to go into setting to set for internal GPS once unlocked. Lastly the maps need to be unlocked and this is included on the keygen. It took me a while before I realised that I only had limited map details ie no street maps hence no route options.
Thanks again this gives a middle finger to NOKIA MAPS and them removing tracking.

Not working for me either, I've tried extracting a new map code as well from the IMG and recreating both the UNL files for SW and gmapsupp...
Have tried multiple installs and generations of code. Any ideas anyone?
6.Posted by mukandi on Dec 17 2007 at 15:56
Guys the key gen works well. You maybe experiencing a settings problem not that the download has errors.
7.Posted by antj69 on Dec 17 2007 at 20:08
Guys, I had the same prob, not finding built in gps receiver!
All you need to do is ...
on n95 (maybe similar nokias)
Menu > Tools > File mgr
Find the garmin folder >
find the file you placed in with unlock code SW.UNL
make sure that it doesnt have .txt after it (ie SW.UNL.txt) delete that and also .txt after GMAPSUPP.UNL if there too.
Reboot phone and application!
Make sure this is done only when the application is not running.
(not bad for my first ever comment)
Big thanks for the torrent too!!!

Hi, many thanks for this torrent.
I had no problem getting the internal gps to work, but when it came to getting the maps to work no luck.Would anybody happen to have the right map id for this map please. Thanks in advance..
14.Posted by BovineOfDoom on Dec 22 2007 at 20:30
Ok I have just got this working fine on my n95.
To find the internal GPS - use the gps data program on the n95 and get a location, then open garmin and it will find the interal GPS.
The keygen works fine but you need to choose city navigator europe NT to get the code for maps and then adjust the GMAPSUPP.UNL as you did with the SW.UNL.
good luck

Oh god I registered just to help people because it took me a while to find how to work it!
TIPS TO GET IT TO WORK AS INSTRUCTIONS ARENT THE BEST!!
17.Posted by Mattn95 on Dec 23 2007 at 02:19
q) I click on the program and it loads but goes back off?
a) You've probabily installed it wrong as instructions dont state enough. Format your memory card and remove it off your phone. Lets start again. I didnt use nokia manager or anything, just connect your phone and use data transfer mode. Open your memory card (G: in my case), grab Garmin folder and drop in in the ROOT directory. No where else. Then, install on phone (By going to garmin directory in phone and going on garmin.sys file..). Should work now? :]
18.Posted by Mattn95 on Dec 23 2007 at 02:19
q) I try and go on addresses or anything and it says something like.."DETAILED MAPS ARE REQUIRED TO USE THIS FEATURE"?
a) The instructions dont state you to use the bottom half of the unlocker. So, go back on settings/about on the program, type the Unlock ESN: in the top part of the unlocker (Like you did earlier, code bit), then go to the bottom, select europe maps (cant fully remember)then click generate underneith that.. you'll see a code? copy and paste that code into ANOTHER notepad file, naming this one GMAPSUPP.UNL Once you've done that, copy that into the garmin folder on your memory card overwriting when promping you to do so.. then, reload the program.. Should then work!
HOPE THIS HELPS EVERYONE AS I WAS LOOKING AROUND FOR QUITE A BIT GETTING FRUSTRATED.
Any questions, just ask and I'll try and help.

Ok chaps, after much messing about with my N95 trying to get the internal GPS up and running this is what I did.
Step 1 - Re register the software AND the mappin (Follow MattN95's instructions above).
Step 2 - While you're in the Garmin folder if you see a file called garmindevice delete it.
Step 3 restart Garmin XT and go to System/Remote GPS, you should now have the choice of external or internal GPS. Select internal and you're good to go.
Hope this helps the peeps who're struggling.
20.Posted by boywonder786 on Dec 24 2007 at 22:19
6. Now open Notepad and paste (CTRL+V) the key and save the file to your desktop,Then rename it as SW.UNL
Now again open Notepad, paste map unlock code and save as GMAPSUPP.UNL
(NOTE:make sure they are do not have .tct at the end eg. SW.UNL.TXT,delete the .txt part)
7. Put your newly created files to your n95 Card in the Garmin directory, ans DELETE garmindevice.xml
8. Restart Garmin app on n95
9. Program should now recognize your built-in GPS (if not go to settings\system and choose "connected gps"
and you should be
able to use detailed maps.

I have got my N95 to recognise my internal GPS. However, my map images have an icon containing a question mark, and when I try to open them itsays "Unable to open file. File type not supported." Anybody any ideas, I have both generated keys installed i.e. GMAPSUPP.UNL and SW.UNL

if anybody is having problems getting internal gps working try this it worked for me only tested on n95 when you make the files SW.UNL and the GMAPSUPP.UNL
you have to go into file manager of your n95 and goto folder garmin and scroll down for the files SW.UNL and GMAPSUPP.UNL and after them will be "txt" delete txt rename files to SW.UNL and GMAPSUPP.UNL and it will start garmin then go into system and you will see internal gps hit enable you might have to go outside for signal and dont forget to delete the GARMIN DIVICE in the memory card even though you delete it on pc it will still be in memory card hope this works if not email me and will try to sort it for you

Guys, I have installed this as per the instructions above. Just one thing though.. Are the MAPS for UK latest? Or do I need to download anything else?
Thanks to all for their help on this software.
30.Posted by jonno2001 on Jan 08 2008 at 20:37
Works an absolute treat. Just be sure people read all the available comments about creating various files and the settings within your N95, but if done carefully it takes about 10mins to get up and running.
Garmin app runs well but i still prefer TomTom and will probably swap to that when there's a workaround for the N95 internal GPS.
Great work to all though
31.Posted by steveinator on Jan 11 2008 at 20:14
Okay. Call me dumb but can't get this to work. Downloaded all files and transferred them on to my SD card in my N95. I then ran "garminxt.sis on my phone to install program. The next step says to delete "garmindevice.xml" There is my first problem. I don't have that file anywhere on my N95. Looked in every folder and even did a phone file search. No such file. Not finding it I continued on anyway. I open the application folder and start "garminxt". Other then the phone just blinking once nothing happens. So can't really get into the application settings to follow rest of steps as the program will not even open.......HELP!!!!!!!!!1

I am looking for the dutch map or benelux.
Somebody who can help me?
43.Posted by steveinator on Jan 18 2008 at 01:21
Well here I am and still stuck. Let me show what I have done to see if anyone can figure out what is going on. Still can't get Garmin to run.
1. First step I did is format my 6gb card using a microCD card reader plugged into my USB port.
2. Then I download the bittorrent to my PC and dropped entire folder on my formatted 6gb card. I copied entire folder directy from the PC to the card still in the USB card reader.
3. I then placed the card back in N95-3 phone. (V11.2.009)
4. I then navigated to the garmin folder on my card and ran the GarminMobileXT.sis file to install the program.
5. Searched for the file Garmindevice.xml on my phone to delete but no such files exists.
continued >>>>>>>>
44.Posted by steveinator on Jan 18 2008 at 01:22
6. Not finding the above file I navigate to the applications menu and click on the icon for GMobileXT. Nothing much happend. The application screen just blinks one time and nothing happens.
7. There does seem to have been an additional folder added to my card after attempting to install the program. The folder is call Garmin. Inside that folder is another folder called Apps and inside that folder is another folder named Symbian. After opening this folder the following files are listed.
Garmin_Flash.NVM
Garmin_MPM.NVM
Garmin.NVM
gmobile.ini
Thats about it folks. Have repeated this procedure four times including downloading the bittorrent four times in case there were some corrupted files. Same thing happens everytime. Program does not come up so can't continue to any of the next installation steps.
Stuck and Frustrated
45.Posted by boro365 on Jan 18 2008 at 12:26
steveinator follow 17-20 but i used my phone as a storage device droped file on it then disconected phone installed program reconnected phone opened it up changed files (just changed garmindevice.xml to garmindevice.txt file in folder and left it there) worked strait away if you cant find garmindevice.xml file just look for .xml file if its not there you need to reinstall it yet again as it took me less than 10 mins first time i tried and i'm no geek. frustraiting i know
46.Posted by leegunner on Jan 18 2008 at 23:32
Thanks everyone! Great upload and VERY useful comments, got it working following these great tips!
47.Posted by shagman69 on Jan 19 2008 at 15:14
finally got it working, what you need to do whilst your phone is plugged into your pc is delete the file garmendevice.xml unplug your phone from the computer go into tools >> filemanager and delete it from their also as for some reason it doesnt delete even though you already deleted through your pc.
also what i was getting stuck with was SW.UNL.txt and GMAPSUPP.UNL txt even though i made the file without the txt extension when i looked at it in the filemanager on the phone it was their so just rename it on on the phone to SW.UNL AND GMAPSUPP.UNL without the "txt" on the end.
its so simple when youve managed to do it but complicated if you havent.

50.Posted by steveinator on Jan 22 2008 at 01:01
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!
Giving up I think....lol.
Have tried everything. Downloaded the bittorrent to my pc (five times). Transfered program folder to my formatted disk by PC directly to phone and also by PC directly to card using a USB card reader. Did both of these transfers five times each. NEVER have found the garmindevice.xml file. Not by using the nokia search or PC search or even manually searching all my files myself. Not there before or after I run GarminMobileXT.sis to install.
I then click on GMobileXT icon and nothing happens. Sometimes the program screen appears for a few second but then back to icons. Thought of using the phone for a pinata then but decided that would be a little much....

Thanks for uploading this software the N95
I have succesfully installed Garmin on my N95 and installed the MapInstaller successfully.
I'm trying to load North America NT 2008 Maps
Well in the Garmin XT folder i downloaded from Mininova. A zip file (disk1.zip) was included in there. My question is do i need to unzip somewhere on my pc for the program load the maps to my N95 phone or will the MapInstaller program find that Zip file and unzip all the maps automatically on the phone for me?
can someone please help and explain what i need to do to load the North America NT 2008 maps to the N95?
Thank you so much,

I have another question to ask...
With this Garmin GPS for the N95...
Do i need to pay for any service fee or data fee to my phone service provider
when i use this Garmin GPS software on my phone?
Before this came out, in order to have turn-by-turn update, i would have to pay monthly fees to the phone service provider....
Can someone please tell me if i need to pay anything when i use this?
Thank you so much...
55.Posted by gm4328 on Jan 27 2008 at 20:14
Thank you very much for this. I installed it yesterday and did a trial as well. I think the UK maps are out of date a little. The post code i tried going to was not there. Can someone tell me please if i can get latest UK maps from somewhere.

WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't believe it got this thing to finally work. Had to stand on my head with one finger in my ear while clicking my ruby tennis shoes together but that did the trick. Now loaded onto my 6gig card and working fine. Question though. When I want to upgrade to the larger cards that are coming out can I just transfer everything to the larger card or have I now locked the program to my 6gig card and need to do a complete reinstall procedure for the larger card?

First of all THANKS for this upload and all the comments posted. It helped me a lot to get the garmin application installed and working.
I also got the Internal GPS to work. However the signal strength is very weak! So weak that it keeps mentioning - SEARCHING FOR SATELLITES.
When I connected an external bluetooth GPS that I have and used it, the signal strength automatically jumped and started detecting satellites and calculated the appropriate route immidiately!
I wanted to know...is the Nokia internal GPS really weak? Does anyone else have a problem with their signal strength?
Let me know. Thanks!

Nice one centurion! Works like a dream on my N95...
The earlier explanations on how to get this work are correct and straight forward. One tip, when saving your txt files as UNL, ensure file type is set to "all files" and not text files.

many thanks to the uploader. working perfect on my n95 8gb. just follow the instruction given. tested today, also got warning on speed camera. gps a bit slow compared to tytn 2, or might be my phone had problem. should work on n73 with external gps since there was option to use bluetooth gps receiver.

This won't work I think for anyone outside of the UK. I pulled my hair out wondering why the keygen for australia didn't work and then I realised that no Australian map is loaded on it, hence the key is useless. That is possibly why you get, as I did, can not unlock maps, coming up on your phone. 95 8gig.

Part One
Hello, I have seen lots of intsall instructions for this and lots of hints and tips. But nothing giving an easy explanation. So,to help people i have made a comilation of the instalation insructions with a few tips i discovered myself.- by doing this method i have successfully got my Garmin working.
*connect the n95 via USB and choose "Data Transfer" mode and copy the "garmin" folder to the memory card.
*Now Disconnect phone from pc then navigate to the garmin folder and run "garminxt.sis" this will install the aplication.
*on the n95 use the file manager and browse to the garmin directory and delete "GarminDevice.xml" - SOME PEOPLE INCLUDING MYSELF SAY THEY COULD NOT SEE THE FILE "GarminDevice.xml" - To locate the file I restarted my phone.
*Now when you navigate to manager file manager and browse to the garmin directory the "GarminDevice.xml" it should be there - Now delete it.
*Then go to your applications folder and start "garminxt".
109.Posted by expediant on Sep 28 2008 at 17:57
Part Two
*open settings - open about about
*Make note of your "Card ID"
*Launch the keygen, and enter the "Card ID" that you saw on GarminMXT About page.
*Hit generate code (top portion) or use one of the supplied codes.
*Copy (CTRL+C) the Device unlock key and paste into notepad (CTRL+V) the key and save the file as SW.UNL - make sure you change the file type when saving to 'all'
*Again, connect the n95 via USB and choose "Data Transfer" mode and Put your newly created file to your SD Card\Garmin folder.
*Now restart your Garmin via the N95.
*Program should now recognize your built-in GPS (if not go to settings\system and choose "connected gps"
IF THE GPS IS NOT RECOGNISED, TRY THE FOLLOWING.
*Firstly go outside (you will get a better signal.)
* Select the connectivity option on your N95 and then select the GPS data option.
*Now scroll down to position and select.

Part Three
*Next select options and choose satelite status - This will now get your satelite position correct.
Now go into Garmin and select: settings - system(2) - remote GPS and select the option 'use attached/built in GPS.
Now close down Garmin and restart your phone. The Internal GPS will now work - WELL IT DID FOR ME -

Finally to get your map working correctly, do the following.

Part Four
*Again, connect the n95 via USB and choose "Data Transfer" mode and Put your newly created file to your SD Card\Garmin folder.
*Launch the keygen, and enter the "Card ID" you saw on GMXT About page.
*On the keygen, under 'select map product' chose 'custom map set' with MapID:197 for the UK and IRL maps included here.
*Hit both generate buttons.
*Copy the Device unlock code to clipboard. (select the text with the mouse, press Ctrl+C)
*Open Notepad again and create another file containing the map unlock code, save this as GMAPSUPP.UNL using the same technique as before.
*Copy this file to the Garmin folder on your memory, overwriting if necessary.
*The maps should now be unlocked.
*THIS METHOD WORKED FOR ME AND TOOK ME AOUT AN HOUR TO WORK IT OUT SO I WOULD GUESS IT WILL TAKE ABOUT 15 MINUTES NOW THE INSTRUCTIONS ARE MORE CLEARLY LAID OUT.
