I have downloaded things before, some am not totally inept, but I don't have a clue where to begin with this one.
Could someone please give me a quick idea of what I need to do to play this game? Do I need to burn it onto a DVD before I play it or something?

1. Mount/install the game with Daemon-Tools. (www.daemon-tools.cc)
2. Take the crack (the " tra " file) and replace that over the original file in the Tomb Raider folder (also remember to unmount the game from Daemon-Tools before playing just to make sure)
3. Play the game.

No, you do not need to burn the game. It can be installed directly from Daemon-Tools. Daemon-Tools is like a CD/DVD-ROM driver. It opens "Image" files like ISO, NRG, MDS etc. But you can burn the game if you want and then install it from there.

I mounted it, then. It did the thing where it looked like it was installing the game for a bit and then when it ended it came up with a box that said "insert original disc" or something. So, I clicked ok. That disappeared. What do I do now? Nothing seems different on my PC. I tried to put the tra file somewhere, but can't work out where you mean. Sorry to be so ignorant, but I haven't used Daemon Tools before. I think all other downloads that I've done have been a bit easier for me to comprehend!

The Tomb Raider Anniversary you have downloaded, there is another folder in it called "Tomb Raider Anniversary V1.0 English NOCD". In that folder there is a crack file called " tra ". Copy it, and you have to go to the Tomb Raider folder that are in "My Computer" - "C: drive" - "Program Files" or something. Somewhere in the folder of Tomb Raider Anniversary, you have to find the original file called " tra ". Don't remember wich folder it was, but you'll find it with no big problems. Then delete or move away the original " tra " file to your desktop or something and then paste the crack were the original file was and see if it works.
Also remember to unmount the game from Daemon-Tools so nothing gives you any problems. Just in case.

Thanks so much for being patient with me. I've finally got it sussed and have played the game for the last hour. Aaaah, the memories came flooding back, although it was never anywhere near this good! Well, if you don't mind I have a further problem, sorry! I cannot save my progress. It won't let me set up a profile, whatever that means. Also, if you know how, it would be nice to be able to use the right hand stick of my joypad to scan the view, but I can't see anywhere to change this (and have to use the mouse for this).
Sorry for the further questions, and thanks again for getting me this far.

I haven't played it much. So I can't "solve" any problems that are in the game. I have only tested it once just to see if it really runs. Maybe you have to wait for a Patch.
I don't know why it doesn't save your progresses.

If I were you, you should check for hardware problems like RAM, harddrive, motherbord etc. or check the software drivers. Or ask someone you know who knows the problem.

Hhmm... you probably had some bad luck while downloading it or your OS (Operative System) have corrupted the game somehow or something else. Who knows.
You should download the game one more time and see if it does the same thing again. But do not delete the one you have now.
By the way: what do you mean by "i've used isobuster excacted the iso"?. Didn't understand that.

If you use isobuster you can extract the NRG IMAGE and a file comes up with all the files you need to setup the game
I also downloaded the game on a previous torrect and the same thing happened .

If I think it is, then I believe your isobuster is the problem. Have you tried just using Daemon-Tools and installing it in the ususal way?

it was strange, after each time i tried to install it it stopped at 95%.I never botherd to check if it was in programs list.just kept trying to re install it...IT must have been there the first time tried it.i think the only thing it didnt install was the TRA.exe icon on desktop.I've been playing it for a few hrs no problem.So....#21 check in programs list and i bet ya its there. for those having the problem of the install stopping at 95%. try switching off your antivirus while you install the game, but remember to turn off your internet connection first.

I tried the game a little bit more than before and just as you people know: when you save a game, the games doesn't saves at all (the options/configurations does). This might be a little flaw to the crack itself. Besides that the game works as it should be.
To be sure to save a game when playing, burn the game to a DVD disc and play it from there.

Hey, I downloaded the torrent a few days ago and since then i have been searching through all of your comments and what feels about the entire internet. I only have one problem. When i go to remove the tra file from the CD drive, windows stops me from doing so. It tells me I need permission to do so even though i am the only user on this PC and should have the right to do anything. I am currnetly on windows vista and nothing i have tried will work, including disabling user access control, any words of wisdom?

You have to replace the original with the crack file that are in "My Computer" - "Program Files" - Tomb Raider Anniversary folder. And not directly in the Virtual CD/DVD-ROM where you have mounted the game.

Hey i've got the game from my brother (afielding) and i've done everything he's done. (i've put the tra.mcl file from program files to the original place) yet every time i press "play" on the menu, it comes up with an error message reading "please use the original disc" well, something like that. freddiefielding: When the game is installed, the game will be in "My Computer" - "Program Files" and then "Tomb Raider Anniversary" (unless you haven't told the installation to give the game another location or name). When the game has been installed, unmount the game from your Virtual CD/DVD-ROM or take out the CD from your CD/DVD-ROM drive. Go to the "Tomb Raider Anniversary V1.0 English NOCD" folder that followed the game and copy the file called " TRA.exe " (or only " TRA " and then go to "My Computer" - "Program Files" - "Tomb Raider Anniversary". The original " TRA.exe " file is in that folder. Remove or replace that file elsewhere (so you can use that file in case the crack file will not work). When you have replaced the original file with the crack file, then the game should work.

Try to install the latest DirectX first that follows the game in the CD/DVD or download it from here: http://www.softwarepatch.com/windows/directx.html
See if this corrects the problem.
Strange that error occurs to others. I don't have it. I actually installed the game after a reinstall of Windows for a couple a weeks ago without that kinda problem.

Thank you Booster2 for the torrent. I have installed the game and it works just fine. As you have warned, I cannot save the game, but I'm not sure what you mean by the above. Do you mean that after you have successfully installed the game burn the 'C:\Program Files\Tomb Raider - Anniversary' directory to a DVD?

I mean by burning the game to a DVD disc and play it from the disc. Not by cracking it. Like this: Mount the game from Daemon-Tools, burn/DVD Copy the game to a DVD disc in Nero Burning ROM, use the disc to play the game (since the game will ask for the CD/DVD to play it).

To all people having trouble with game installing then stoping at 95%. You will get that problem if you burn game to DVD,i know this because i had the same with the original game disk. What i had to do is copy contents of disk to new folder on desktop, once you've done that, remove the directx folder to desktop, then go to folder again and install the game, and it will install fully. If you need dx9c installed, use the one you removed from folder, onto desktop.

Just as you people know, I have ripped it directly from the disc and not downloaded in other places.
It's actually a Bundled Software version, but I don't know if that has something to do with the 95% problem.

Hi booster, brilliant game. Runs fine, easy to install. experienced none of the plethora of supposed problems mentioned above.
I must say, u have the patience of a saint. if i had half the no-brainer questions u answered, i would of just lost it, and sent them packing to the nearest shop, so they could spend $50 on it, with all the other lemmings.
no wonder hardly any one seeds anymore, they probably all think it's something they plant in their garden.

If problems occurs by opening the game from Virtual CD/DVD drivers, try MagicDisc instead: http://www.magiciso.com/tutorials/miso-magicdisc-overview.htm
Does the same job as Deamon-Tools only that MagicDisc can open a few more image files that Daemon-Tools can.

Ok, you're talking about that it is stoping almost at the end of the installation?
I do not know why it does that. I never had that problem when I install it. Try to install DirectX that follows the game. If it does the same, then I do not know what the problem is, but you can copy all the files except DirectX folder were you have mounted the game as early mentioned on this "Comments" page.

I think this is the problem: When you give a new name on the "New Profile" (or something) it doesn't save a game, but if you let the profile stay as it was when you entered the game for the first time. Then it save. I tried that for a couple a weeks ago.

You can go google and just search the specific .dll file you are having problems with and the first page that pops up is what you are looking for, I believe it is called freedlls.com or somthing along those lines. It is a totally legit site that just has a database of all the .dll files you could imagine. Basically just download the new .dll file and it should tell you specifically which folder it is located in on your hd, just drag drop and replace the .dll. I have fixed so many stupid and annoying little problems with my computer over the past few years just by replacing the .dll file that is mentioned in an error report. 90% of the time when you get a problem like this it requires a hd format and re-installation of windows. And I have never had a problem arise from replacing a .dll file.

i downloaded the game, opened the file with magicISO, and opened the autorun.exe file. then i get to choose if i want to install the game, read the readme file blah blah. but when i click install nothing happens. when i click view readme nothing happens either...

I ripped it directly from the disc in "Ahead Nero Burning ROM". If I choosed CloneCD the file would be much bigger wich is unnecessary. Nero doesn't make any sub file. And the reason that the file is big it is because the source is a DVD.

Probably a standard Windows bug/error I would say. Right-click on the Drive where it has been mounted and click "Open". Copy all files except DirectX folder and put them on the Desktop and try to install it.

i installed the game and everything weent fine ..
to try the game out i played the croft manor.. well no problems.. then i played the real game.. no problems.. well after playing a few minutes.. it started to lag or freeze.. you know what the problem is or someone els does?

Usually when that happens, you should update the graphic card driver (unless you already have done it). You can also clean up your computer with CCleaner ( http://www.ccleaner.com/ ). It is free software. And see if that helps.
But lags and freezing can also be hardware problems like RAM, Motherboard, 3D graphic card or Harddrive or other.

This game has no security but it has a license that expires (many days or months after the installation). It usually happens when someone tries to re-install the game.IF YOU DO NOT uninstall it, there shouldn’t be any problem (cause it worked just fine for many months before I removed it to the recycle bin). IF YOU DO, a message appears after the re-installation from securom. It says that your license has expired or place the authentic disk etc. Does anyone know how to solve this? After that you shall pay a visit to ******* searching for keywords like: create lara's costumes etc. There you'll find out what to do. TRUST ME IT WORKS I'VE DONE IT MYSELF. If you want better resaults and costume detailes, use adobe photoshop and not just the windows' drawing programme.

I have downloaded tomb raider anniversary and a crack, both v. 1.0.0.0
but i'm not getting to install. When i click the icon "tra" appears a window with the message "reinstall the aplication can solve the problem".
i have a crack v. 3.0.0.0 but when i use it appears another message "error out of table range".
i really don't know what to do. I tried what Booster 2 said up and looked for the file in Crogram files but i didn't found 'cause it's not intalled yet.

1. Mount/install the game with Daemon-Tools. (www.daemon-tools.cc)
2. Take the crack ( the " tra " file that lies in the "Tomb Raider Anniversary V1.0 English NOCD" ) and replace that over the original file in the Tomb Raider folder in "My Computer" - "Program Files" - "Tomb Raider Anniverasry" (also remember to unmount the game from Daemon-Tools before playing just to make sure).

Most likely a Windows/Operative System error. Since the game actually work for the rest of us it cannot be the game. Unless it has been corrupted though.
It's better to be at the computer and see the problem because it can be an "everyting error" if you know what I mean. But I'll try to figure it out.

I have a problem when i'm trying to install the game. It says the setup file is not a legitimate win32 application and I can't do anything with it. It says the same for all files. I have a quad core with 9800 GTX and vista 32 bit. I tried reinstalling vista and downloaded it again. I used Daemon and MagicIso. Nothing works.

Strange. I run Windows Vista 64 Bit Ultimate SP1. 64 bits OS's usually pops up with that kind of messages when you want to run 32 bits or less programs (in "some" cases though).
If it runs on 64 bits OS, then it should run on 32 bits. So in this case wich I believe... you tried to open it directly in "Autorun", (wich it wouldn't do, right)?
Then try doing this: Have the game mounted and go to "My Computer" - rightclick on the mounted CD/DVD-ROM - choose "Open" - run "Setup". See if it works that way.

Well, most of the people here have successfully installed it, so it must be your Windows or the file of the game could be corrupted. Actually it would be better that somebody could look at your computer/the error physicaly or else this would be only a speculation from our side. That kind of error could be anything.

I have seen somewhere on other forums that people or the client program accidently corrups the file if you have shut down the computer before it could be finished while downloading even if the file "still works".

Le jeux que tu a telecharger est "Tomb Raider Anniversary".
Ouvre le jeux sur le programme Daemon-Tools. ( Lire ici: http://www.digital-digest.com/articles/mount_watch_iso_files_page1.html )
Le mot 'burn', ca veux dire (bon, en francaise ca fait brûler) mais en data ---> " met le jeux sur un disc/CD/DVD " sur par exemple "Nero" ( www.nero.com ).
Installez le jeux est remplacer la fichier TRA original avec le "crack" ficher (le "crack" de TRA est dans la Tomb Raider Anniversary V1.0 English NOCD) dans la dossier de "Tomb Raider Anniversary" quand tu a fini de ton installation.

Que vous avez à faire usage de copie de DVD. Dabord faut laissez le jeu "mounted" sur Daemon-Tools avant utilise le usage de copie de DVD.

1. None of the files are zipped. Neither in WinRAR, WinZip, WinAce or anything. It's an ISO file, a CD Image like an ordinary/physical disc.
2. If you have installed the game somehow (since I'm not quite sure what you have done now), you have to replace a file ( a Crack file) in your destinated folder of Tomb Raider Anniversary. You'll find that file in the folder called "Tomb Raider Anniversary V1.0 English NOCD" and has the name TRA. Copy that file and go to the destinated folder of Tomb Raider Anniversary and replace the original TRA with the Crack TRA. Then the game should be working.

That can be a softweare or a hardware problem. The best way to "solve" that kind of problem is to install the latest graphic driver. If that didn't solve, it can be (forexample) sound driver, graphic card itself or Operative System.

Some computers that are a bit to old, might have some 'restarting' because the computer/hardware and software toils to much. I have experienced that on another computer with Pentium 4 CPU based machines. But if you try to update with the latest drivers on every hardware you got, you may avoid the restarting.

I spent hours reading all the comments and checking all websites talking about my problems and i finally solved one of them!!
About the binkw32.dll problem, you need to go in the "TR anniversary" file in "program files", you will find a binkw32.dll file, copy and paste it the TRA file downloaded from the torrent. And if you have another binkw32.dll in your "System32" file, rename it so it will be unusable.
But my problem now is that the program is installed, i burn it onto a dvd, did all the things describe uphere but when i click on "play", weither nothing happens, or i get the message "insert a disk...". Any idea?

ok my bad, problem solved...i must be a genius...or not because everything i did was king of against booster2 advise! Actually, i re-paste the orginial tra file that was on my desk in the tra file (with the crack) then i got the "error out of table range"--> "can't find the bigfile.OO1" message so i went to tra file in "program files" copy aaaaallllllll the "bigfiles" ang now it works, it's almost 1 in the morning but it seems to be find
i'll keep u in touch if what i said was bull****: if my pc explose or sth!!

i downloaded this (took about 3 days at least!) and mounted it using MagicDisc. It didn't autostart, and when i browsed it and clicked setup.exe it said that it is not a valid windows application. what gives?
I tried magisdisc before (works like a charm on my StarCraft and POP Sands of Time .iso's) and now i don't know what went wrong....

a comment says that when im using vista, i should extract first with magic iso then mount it
i already have magiciso and already know how to mount it

Ok so i downloaded the file and used WinRar on the NRG file but what do i do next??? I clicked on one of the files that brought up the install page but after i clicked the button it just disappeared.

It's either the OS or that the game (ISO file) might not have been downloaded properly. Re-check the file on your Torrent-client and see if that corrects the problem or make sure it is downloaded at 100%. Or as I have said before: try it on another computer to verify if it is the game or the OS that fails to open file(s)/ISO's.

I downloaded this torrent last night and tried to install it after mounting to Daemon Tools and I get the autorun screen to pop up, but when I press Install it just closes the screen and doesn't do anything. I updated my graphics drivers and have directx10 installed, is there anything else I could try to make it work? I have Windows Vista 32-bit.

Go to My Computer - rightclick on the mounted game - choose "Open" - go to "Setup" and see if the installation works. If not: copy all files and folders (except the DirectX folder) and paste them on the Desktop and then try to install.

Of course it is the full version. The file do take 2.61 GigaByte, so I don't think it is a Shareware.
Are you sure that the file is downloaded completely? Try it on another computer and see if it does the same thing.
I'm not sure what you mean by Playing Directly. You have to install it at the same way like other games by installing it of course. Read earlier comments if help is needed.

Re-install it. You can't change the language after it has been installed (I think though).

Try to go "inside" the CD-ROM drive were you have the mounted game in My Computer, rightclick and chose 'Open' and click 'Setup'. If it doesn't work, then there is something wrong with your OS or that the game hasn't been downloaded properly.

So what's the story with saving? Can you save or what? I read on comment #69 that you cant change the name of the new profile or something, otherwise it wont save?
PS- Booster2, I agree with a couple of posters here about your patience, I cant believe how much you have put up with some of these noobs.. I would have told them to take a walk after the first idiotic question.

About the saving: when I tried for the first time, it wouldn't let you save when playing if you change the profile-name. For some strange reason it saves if you use the default-name (or something). Don't remember, but I think it saves either if you change or don't anyway.
Or (if I remember right): It does saves, but only at a checkpoint and not where you were there and then.
Something like that.
