It's a battleship simulator.
I try the first one a millon years ago and was very difficult to understand.
I hope this one is better.

Its a Derke Smart game. For those of you un aware of the messiah he is a walking talking forum flamming genius with a docterate (But dont ask him where he got it from or he will flame you) in some form of computing engineering (He says). He is a diluded fool who says that the 99.9999% of people who find his game interface to flauded are idiots.

It is very difficult to understand i found, i can't even find a way to get back to main menu and quit lol ctrl alt del to end game for me!! haha

Kontraband is right.

I tried the old Battlecruiser games, it wasn't that great.
and then Derek Smart flamed me on his forum because I asked for help.
Its a good concept but developed by an idiot team. And the worst part is there is no Time acceleration so sometimes you have to fly for hours just to get to some stupid place.

I hope this one is better, which i doubt, cause all of His Battlecruiser games are just poorly develoed ( duck and cover he might come flame us here)

By the way this is a space ship sim game, where you can fly around in space, in solar system, to any planets within a small galaxy, land on planets, fly vehicles on planets, have space combat trade and stuff. Almost like X2/X3 series.
The controls and interface are absolutely stupid.
But if you like space exploration you may want to give this a try.

-You don't need time accelerator in this sim since it's designed so that battleship can take you anywhere in about 5 minutes. Only thing you need to wait really is going throught jump portals when ship calculates right moment to jump at.

-When you are at game to quit you need to press ctrl+q or was it alt+q? Any way that will do it. Little old fashioned way to exit game. Dos games used to use that a lot during old good days.

I admit that this game was really horrible at 1.0,2.0 and 3.0 of it.

-Controls are explained in manual and it's not some 40+ pages you need to fully understand. You need a list of keyboard functions with explanations and picture of UI functions. And that's two pages of text.

I suggest getting joystick or gamepad to make playing a lot easier.

Like said this game is huge. It's got a lot more content than any other game for my knowlege. This is one of those games I call Jesus games. It includes everything from FPS, RPG, RTS/TBS, Sim. and Adventure genres.

I hope that at least 1 guy who reads this comment will give it a shot and try uc in simple scenarios like defending that space station during space war time plot.

I bought this game twice, not realizing it was the same game renamed to try and keep selling it. I hope after 10 or more years its finally finished. Or is it? and what's the new version called.

It's just the same as Battlecruiser Millenium, with some updated graphics, marine ships I am yet to find, added mouse ship controls, and some changed key layouts for confusing old players. And it has a new campaign while the old one has been deleted. But all in all, its the same game, unfortunately more unstable than its predecessor.
Btw, it says its lacking the full version's multiplayer mode, does the full version have any? :O

Absolutely fantastic game! I loved BC3000AD's first early games and did NOT find it difficult at all! I think that anyone who can't learn an interface for any game has the attention span of a ferret on crack and can't learn diddly squat and shouldn't be playing with computers, they're too complicated for you and will make you too smart

Back in the day, I bought Derek Smart's (NOT Derk, but Derek, dummy!)first game in his continuing simulation/combat sagas. I jumped into the manual, checked out the quick-start sheet, and was flying and blowing stuff up in 5 minutes. I was hooked! THIS GAME.... THIS GAME... WOW! Nothing like it, every Privateer old school guy's dream.

Sorry for the flames, but really now, come on! It's only a stupid game! Learn! Explore! Get on the net and LOOK for help! You'll get it. Just concentrate and stay motivated.
