This is the tape from the ( time ) 8 pack.
The EIGHTH BIRTHDAY BASH 1997.
Its not a 200 bpm set its between 130- 160 bpm
a clasic oldskool set here! ;)

5.Posted by ddsdavey on Jan 05 2008 at 13:28

I was there and i can tell you that this was faaar from the best set and no Dougal wouldnt know 200bpm if it bit him on his 1210s!
Now Dj Producer and Loftgroover from "Time",now they were SETS!

10.Posted by ddsdavey on Jan 05 2008 at 16:47

People ALWAYS assume that Gabba = ridiculous BPM,in reality this is TOTALLY wrong. You can get a 120 bpm Gabba track,Gabba is one of the first "branch offs" of German/Dutch Techno and initially held absolutely no relation to Hardcore as we know it.It was people like Manu la main,Lenny Dee and Industrial Strength records that mutated it initially. It is sometimes mistaken for the style that British Djs such as Producer,Clarkee,Scorpio make which is simply "Hardcore Techno" (which in my opinion is the best style!) although we do have Music Maker and Loftgroover not to forget HMS.
Hardcoregaz i dont need those mixes as ive got them already,i used to be a dancer at Helter and Dreamscape so i used to get box sets off Dave Pratley HIMSELF.

11.Posted by ddsdavey on Jan 05 2008 at 16:47

What i do want though which Dave was never able to get me is Helter Skelter "the Annual pres. Producer And Clarkee".It was released at the end of the year in 95,96 or 97 sorry thats all i can remember (things were a little foggy back then!).There was also a Happy Hardcore one by Slipmatt and Dougal and a D+B one by Hype and Randall.
Ill shut up now!

15.Posted by hardcoregaz on Jan 05 2008 at 22:31

TO ddsdavey, why do you think it was called TIME? It was the Helter Skelter's eigth birthday event celebrating the history of dance 1989-1995!
I know it was 1997 but the tape packs were oldskool mate!!!!!!! :|

Sorry for the attitude,im not above apologising and im not starting another argument BUT "Time" was a "Birthday bash" but it was NOT just old skool mixs.In fact there was an old skool arena upsatairs in the small backroom of sanctuary while rollers had Drum and bass and Techno. The odd dj like Hixxy slipped in the odd oldish track into there main sets yes but it was hardly an old skool event.
People like Slipmatt played 2 sets,1 main arena MODERN set and another old skool set later on upstairs whilst Clarkee did an amazing 7" old skool teckno selection, very minimal but great!
Im very passionate about this stuff and dont mean to offend anyone but that is how it is.I was there,if you dont believe me just look up who Dave Pratley actually is and let me know.
Peace, love and unity from "Diehard crew".Shouts to "Geordie Gabba Mafia" and the welsh Rhyl crew. too!

21.Posted by ddsdavey on Jan 06 2008 at 14:47

Almost forgot to thank Hardcoregaz,Ramos is good.Always stuck to his guns educating ravers by playing slower minimal/trance sets in main arenas and achieving a huge fan base.
Keep the scene alive and respect to any raver old or young!

22.Posted by malgoss on Jan 06 2008 at 15:32

fair play 2 ya addsdavey and keep on bangin.

23.Posted by malgoss on Jan 06 2008 at 15:40

sorry to bother you addsdavey but is there a soundtrack to dj phantasy and clarkee,s mix of a trip vid as i call it- the chillout experience. be much appreciated for any feed back. and keep on stomping.

24.Posted by ddsdavey on Jan 06 2008 at 19:15

Malgoss,i hope the "addsdavey" you keep typing is a mistake and not a "attention deficit disorder" joke!
I aint been to a rave in 4 years Malgoss and im now 30 but im tempted to indulge this year sometime.Who does the best Sanctuary events nowadays including Rollers? Christ i dont even think Dreamscapes still going is it?Last i heard the promoter died in a car crash.I only met him once in 96 (i think) but he was a right big head but excellent events.
I know that video, its got a trippy cover but ive never seen an mp3,just googled without success, sorry mate!

25.Posted by malgoss on Jan 06 2008 at 20:53

27.Posted by hardcoregaz on Jan 06 2008 at 22:42

TO ddsdavey
The sanctuary in milton keynes has been bulldozed the last event was Slammin Vinyl in 2004.
The best raves nowadays are Fantazia- yes thare back.
Raindance. Slammin Vinyl. Hardcore Till I Die. Hardcore Uproar.

Have you heard any of the new Hardcore breaks? Awesome trust me!!!!

NEW SETS JUST SEARCH FOR
helter skelter mark eg and vortex mp3

30.Posted by ddsdavey on Jan 07 2008 at 00:00

Yeah Mark Eg is the business, finally Ravers with a bit of taste.Ive seen him loads everywhere and he is nuts! He bites into records and allsorts of crazy stuff but he sticks to his funky/minimal techno sets and you can find him at Cream but also downstairs in some sweaty basement doing a set after Jay Prescott! Vortex and Sharkey use to be good,i dont know about now though? Last i knew Fantazia were House with the odd large event entetaining a bit of Hardcore.
God the Scene has shrunk!
