English Subtitles come with it.
Probably the best subtitles I have seen so far (I’ve downloaded 3 written in pigeon English before finding this one).

So is this in french with english subtitles?
4.Posted by Omikron404 on Jan 18 2008 at 00:06
Yes, this one is French with English Subs, they all are, the English dub won't be out for a while as it will go straight onto DVD I believe.

All the details are on the description section people :], English subtitles only, but they are good and most of the story doesn't have much dialogue anyway.

Perfect. Great quality, great subtitles. I'm surprised it doesn't have many seeds.

uploader, can you please tell me how to use the DAT file or persepolis.srt? I am trying to play the avi file but I can't seem to find any subtitles in it. I am using TVP and media player but there is no subtitles. Please assist.. rgds.. and thanks..

after downloading this torrent you should have two files:
-persepolis.avi
-persepolis.srt
Open Persepolis.avi with BS player (http://filehippo.com/download_bsplayer/) then once you're done launch BS player, select the avi you wish to play then click on the icon with an S on it (load subtitles), select persepolis.srt and you're set to go.

thanks wombat!!! I use BS player so i can play with the subtitles on it. i assume, there is no way i can launch the subtitle file with Media player or TVP as you haven't mentioned it. Please confirm. again, thanks..

Media Player: I have no idea I haven't used that program for years, TVP (TVplayer?) I've never used it and I can't find any info online about it. If you absolutely have to use media player I suggest you check out the help file and type "subtitles", see what comes up.
I only use two programs, BSplayer and VLC which both play any videos you will come across, with or without subs.
Hope this helps
ps: by "launching the subtitle file" I assume you meant with the video, if you want to just open the sub and check out the text, you will need to use wordpad.

14.Posted by leomel on Feb 02 2008 at 13:38
Sorry WOMBATMAN.. i wasn't able to get back to thank you. Just one problem, I did what you asked me to do so i cud be able to launch the video with the subtitle. Moreover, the BS player I have download doesn't seem to play a sound at all. Why is this so? Anyway, I have uninstalled the BS player, please advise your insight on this.. Again thanks for the assistance.. you're a nice dude...

Wasn't clear on the message #14, just to set it clear, the problem with the sound occurs only after loading up the subtitle file. In general, BS Player was a great program, but if i were to chose I'd chose Media Player only because I am used to it. For the sake of this movie, I am willing to d/l BS again or maybe keep it permanently so long as I get it right next time. Could you please figure were I go wrong, WOMBATMAN? thanks again..

It looks like great quality ! On MS Mediaplayer it shows english subs too after codec download.
I would like to transfer the film to a DVD+R or DVD-R media and playback on ANY stationary DVD player. I guess I have to recode the persepolis.avi and the persepolis.rst into DVD format files.
Can anyone help with some freeware software to download which can do the job. Initially I found a program called AVI2DVD which looked promissing but it can not handle avi-files where the sound is INCLUDED in the avi-file.
Ofcause the program should also be able to handle the sub title files; .rst
Thanks for any help

Tracker status looks like offline to me. What is the problem?

I wish I could help more with the sound issue, unfortunately apart from repeating what one of the guys said above (get http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm) I can't think of anything else.
BS player works great for me, and so does VLC (the two I check before uploading a torrent). I don't use any weird codecs apart from the K lite one.
I suggest you get all the codecs mentioned above, maybe check that your sound drivers are up to date (I assume this only happens on this movie so this may not be very helpful).
I have had many feedbacks from people who have watched this movie without any problems using BS or VLC as mentioned by emip666. I doubt the file has been corrupted, so downloading it wouldn't help, I would suggest you try all the codecs again and cross your fingers.Try windows media player again, it should work fine too...

-As for making a DVD there are bunch of programs out there, I use "ConvertXtoDVD" but you can find many by googling "avi to dvd".
-to 'allmightyhimself': I'm away right now and do not remember the aspect ratio on top of my head. There is however only 1 audio channel. The quality is DVD quality and so is the sound.
-The tracker I used can be down sometimes for maintenance, should come back after an hour tops. Give it some time
hope this helps
