Try this on Veteran: At the spot where Cpt. MacMillan says: "Pooch doesn't look too friendly", kill the dog instead of avoiding it. Once the dog dies, a large pack will attack you and MacMillan. Not only do you have to kill all the dogs, you can't let MacMillan die either. I have not succeeded yet, but my roommate did. He HAD to finish because he shot the dog not knowing the consequence and it saved the game just as he shot it. He spent a long time struggling with those dogs...good luck!
