There is a trojan horse in the a110sp1_calc.exe which is the key generator I think. Does anyone know if its a bad one? I was thinking of running it anyway and then getting rid of the virus after. Yes? No?

To 1fullah: Are you sure that the key generator is named a110sp1_calc.exe and not a11calc.exe? I think that you don't have the right keygen.

At first, I was unable to make it works. If you have trouble with the license, I suggest you to type your Hostname and FlexID manually.
ALso be sure that the checkbox is checked in LMTools (see step 6). Step-by-step:
1. Install Ansys 11 (autoexec.exe->Install Products-> Ansys Products)
2. Install License Management (autoexec.exe->Install Products-> Licence Management)
First question - Answer No
Second question - Answer Yes
3. Start-> Programs-> Ansys Flexlm Licence Manager
Open ANSLIC_ADMIN Utility
Choose: Show HostID... (2nd tab)
Write down: your Hostname and FlexID
4. Go back to the MAGNITUDE folder
open a11calc.exe
answer: no
type your Hostname
type your FlexID

i can't get this to work either
my keygen was also called a110sp1_calc.exe, although the bigger problem, although probably related is when i go to browse for the lmgrd.exe there is no such file to be found.
can someone help?

dooho, lmgrd appears to be in \Program Files\ANSYS Inc\v110\icemcfd\win\lic\
assuming you installed icecfd. I followed Trivandrum's steps and had to fill in a few blanks when it comes to setting up LMtools corretly as a service, workbench appears to work but icecfd still gives me a license error.

The keygen I got is also named a110sp1_calc.exe. And my virus scanner also recognize this file as a trojon horse. Besides that I'm not capable of running the file. When I try the run the keygen windows gives the following error: " Windows cannot acces the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to acces the item. " My user account is set to administrator, so that won't be the problem.
I tryed to shut off the virus scanner, but I still get the same error when I try to run the keygen.
maybe I have to try the keygen named a11calc.exe instead a110calc.exe? Can anyone send me this keygen, of knows where to download it??

this is strange, because i scanned the keygen as well, only my scanner said it was clean....
and 600rr, maybe im in over my head because i have no idea what you mean by installing the icecfd????

I already solved the problem... It wasn't the keygen, but probably the virus scanner. On a other machine I can run the keygen whitout problems. So I generated the license file on the other machine, and copied it to my own machine. Now it works! Ansys is already running for some static structural analysis.

I follow the above steps in order to install Ansys but I have an error message :

The program still doesn't fully work. I also tried that key gen chatobarca03 recommended.
Ansys works but Ansys Workbench does not. When I open Ansys workbench all I see is a 'Startpage' tab at the top and nothing else. The weird thing is the licenses appear to be working. Help!

I've tried trivandrum's instructions and chatobarca03 instructions, when you have an empty projection in workbench you open it as administrator in Vista then you see some project icons but no simulation icon.
Simulation doesn't work in workbench, workbench license not complete ??
Any suggestions anyone ??.

Hey, I have many problems to intall Ansys 11.0, because in the cd I found a folder MAGNITUDe with the crak but my scanner virus detects a viurs trojan, so I cant use this crack and I tried in other PC and I got the license.dat and I change the name and hostid to use it in my PC, but it doesnt work. tried all of this but still no luck getting past the license problem. ive tried using the keygen from crackcrew, but dont know where it saves the license file to, or even how to use lmtools to get it to work. can someone please explain how to get it to work with this keygen, its not very clear.

for those of you that are having troubles installing the licens file, these are the steps to followe after you have correctly created the license file:
1. go to windows start menu>Ansys FlexIm License MAnager>Anslic_admin
2. a window will pop up. Click "install the license file", and look for the text file that was generated by the crack, (it should be in the same location on wich the crack is sitting)
3. Now click on "start the license manager" and you are done!!
if you input the right information when running the crack to create the license file you should not have any problems. So just make sure that you follow the steps i gave you on a previous post about creating the license file.

and for those of you that have tried to install on vista, follow this:
1. download flexnet manager files from here (all 3):
http://www.globes.com/support/fnp_utilities_download.htm#unixdownload
2. rename the old files located in
X :\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\Shared Files\Licensing\intel
3. copy the files you´ve downloaded and rename the files into lmgrd.exe, lmutil.exe and lmtools.exe
4. start the ansys licensing service with the ANSLIC_ADMIN Utility
the thing is that you just update the flexnet files so that they run on vista.
worked fine for me!

Regarding the problem I had with not getting workbench working. This is what I did. I created a partition on my harddrive and did a fresh install of windows xp pro and reinstalled the ANSYS software. It worked!
So I think license/files are all working, it's the OS that needs to be sorted to get the software working. If someone finds out what the issue with the OS is then let us know! I was originally using XP home and it wasn't working.

Well this is what i had when i was trying to run it. When you open the utility to check if the server is running, is it actually running ? If it is running, i had the same problem on XP, I've moved my licencse to an other folder, try to reboot and it finally worked. If it is not running, try what i've posted above

The installer lists LS-DYNA as one of the components included in the installation, but I can't find it anywhere once installation is complete. Everything else (Workbench, Autodyn, CFX, ICEM, etc.) is working perfectly.

I had the same problem and found the solution.
Take the file ansyslmd32.exe on the installation CD and paste it on C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\Shared Files\Licensing\Intel
Rename it in ansyslmd.exe.
After it will works (it works with me). If you have the problem you showed with the picture before, just lauch LMTOOLS Utility, go to Start/Stop/Reread and click on Start Server then Reread License file.
After months trying to use Ansys, I finally do it !!

on vista i only can start the design modeler, the mesher and the solver. no cfx-pre and cfx-post.
but on my xp-machine everything works fine 
i think that the full vista compatibility is coming with ansys 12

You need to use ansys_v11_sp1_complete.
It's an ISO file and not a .exe or a file, you need to mount it with Deamon Tools for instance.

There is some things to change (if my memory is good ^^).
I'll tell you what I did (maybe there is other way to make the job but...)
1 - Create a file flexlm on c:\ and copy your license on it.
Ajust the path on LMTools Utility (config services tab-»Path to the license file). Make sure that you have typed LMTOOLS ignores license file path environment variable (Service/license file tab) and Use Services (config services tab).
2 - Look after ansyslmd32.exe on the installation CD and paste it on C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\Shared Files\Licensing\Intel
Rename it in ansyslmd.exe.
3 - When you want to launch Ansys, use LMTools Utility to start the serveur and Reread the license files (start/stop/reread tab)
Maybe the 1 is not usefull, I don't know.
I don't remember if I did something else. Just try and tell me if it works.

the error keeps coming
you have to manually run the lmgrd.exe file first (dont close it)
and then start ansys or multiphysics or workbench they should work fine

Hi guys, i got another problem here, hope someone can help me...
Installing the program and creating the license worked fine, the configuration of the License Manager was successful too. But when i try to start the license server i get the message "Access denied". Thats all. I tried different steps but none was successful.
Im working on Vista 64 bit. Well maybe thats the problem but i would prefere not to install a second OS therfor i hope someone can help me with this...
Oh and one other thing... i installed and uninstalled all parts of the program around 20 times now but i was never abel to uninstall the License-Manager. Theres neighter a uninstallation .exe in the folder nor the possibility to uninstall the program via System -> Programms (at least with Vista). Has anyone an idea how to uninstall the License Manager???

I didn't mess with ANSYS license file for several days after making my last post - however, yesterday I tried the license install again. For some reason ANSYS now recognizes the license file as valid! I didn't do anything different this time as opposed to the method I was using all the previous times, except for this time when I had the license manager create the license file (from the .txt file generated by the LineZero keygen), I had the .txt file in its own directory on the desktop. All the other times I had the license manager create the license file, it had been from a .txt file that had placed into the ANSYS/shared files/licensing folder. I have no idea if that would make a difference, or why... that's also the exact same method I used earlier that day to create an upgraded license for my work computer and it worked then, too.

Thanks for the program! The installation went well. Only one little hiccup, with the lmgrd file. Instead of reinstalling according to the instructions Trivandrum suggests in comment 76 you can instead just copy the lmgrd file from the installation DVD and paste it into the intel directory
X:program files\Ansys\Shared\Licensing\intel\
The lmtools utility is a little awkward, but if you follow the instructions in comment 5,6 its not a problem

Does anybody know how to install CFX? Does it install automatically during the main installation process or is it separate? I have access to the CFX mesher but not CFX-Pre on my XP64 machine. There's supposed to be an "Advanced CFD" button in the Project tab in Workbench but it's not there. This (according to another forum) means that either CFX isn't installed, or I don't have the license. What does the line in the license file look like for the CFX license so I can doublecheck that I have it?

The magnitude file contains virus. Is there other way to get installed ANSYS 11 on Windows Vista? Or possibly any method by which ANSYS 10 can be loaded on Windows Vista? Its desparately needed....

First of thanks to the uploader.
For anyone trying to use CFX or Turbogrid in Vista I got them working on mine here's a set of instructions I wrote
Fix CFX in vista home premium
1.)go to the directory "*:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\v110\CFX\bin\winnt"
(* is the drive letter where the program is installed if you don't know this it is most likely C)
2.) find the file "PreEngine"
3.) Right click on "PreEngine"
4.) click on compatability tab
5.) Check "Run this program in compatability mode for:"
6.) Select "Windows NT 4.0(service pack 5)"
7.) Click on "apply"
8.) In this folder do the same for the file "PostEngine"

Fix Turbo in vista home premium

NOTE: The post processor will display most of the data however there are a number of things that
will appear in the ANSYS CFX command window. I have no idea what part of the postprocessing these
errors refer to.
I figured out both of these today and ran a test case from bladegen all the way through CFX Postprocessor
and everything has worked except for a few features in postprocessing.

I also forgot two of the topology generators in cfx will not work and result in CFX getting hung. One of them is H-Dominant I can't recall what the other is.

Hello, I have a little problem, I have Windows Vista on my PC. I tried to follow the steps given by Trivandrum, but they doesn´t work for me.
When I open a11calc.exe I don´t know how I copy my hostname and then my flexID. So, does anybody can help me?, please.
What a have to do after that?
I can open Workbench, but I can´t with ANSYS.

Ok everyone, i resistered just to thank the uploader for this great software. I installed it useing the steps from posts # 5,6 AND #76. I installed it in under 10 minets. i had a problum at first then i continued reading and then post # 76 was the problum i was having and the fix was right there. I want to thank trivandrum for the excelant instructions!! great work!!

Hi All
Here is another way to install Ansys
You must work as Administrator (write in dos prompt: net user administrator /active:yes)
1) a) launch x:/Ansys/WinHostId.exe on Ansys DVD
b) Run a110sp1_calc.exe, press N (No), fill in your Hostname and Flexid from WinHostId.exe...this will generate licence.dat file
2) install Ansys products and after then install Licence management
3) a)Is this a licence server machine? Yes
b)Do you have a licence file....?Yes
c)Browse for the licence.dat file
4) Download new versions lmtools.exe, lmutil.exe, lmgrd.exe, link is here in post#41...rename downloaded files and copy them into x:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\Shared Files\Licensing\intel\...also copy ansyslmd32.exe from DVD to the Intel directory and rename it to ansyslmd.exe

5) Run LMTOOLS
a)In tab Service/Licence File check box LMTOOLS ignores licence file path...
b)In tab config services remove all services and create a new one...Service name:Ansys, fill in paths to lmgrd.exe(step 4) licence.dat files....then check "Use services" and "Start server at power up"...click on "Save service" button
c) In tab Start/Stop/Reread choose Ansys and press "Start server"
d) In tab Server status press "Perform status enquiry"...no errors should be found
e) Close LMTOOLS
6) Restart your computer
7) Run Ansys from the start menu
I´ve tried it on win Vista and it works...good luck

tip if you dont find the lmgrd.exe in licensing.....install license management as a server also, that is by clicking yes to all when you are installing license management from the dvd. this you have to do the second time u install the license management...you can do this in the first time itself if you know the host name and flexid.

steps
follow the instructions given by Trivandrum from steps 1 to 5. after this follow the few given steps
STEP 1: go to the ANSYS DVD Launcher
STEP 2: install the license management once again, but this time install as a server. that is by click yes to 1st question and 2nd and 3rd question.
STEP 3: when it ask for the license file, browse to find the location of the license file that u generated using a11calc.exe, and install
Now follow the steps given by Trivandrum from step 6 to 8
have a great analysis...

thanks a lot...the license file is not missing....but it contains a trojan horse...so as soon as it is downloaded your anti virus will delete it...just be careful about that.....

I had the same problem like gambitking and joebloe224. Ansys worked but Workbench didn't work. I did everything corectly followed to Trivandrum tips and Workbench didn't work permanetly.
I found the solution of my problem. It was some problem with my antivirus and firewall software (Zone Alarm). When I closed it Workbench started to work.
Maybe this hint will help someone.

i also installed ansys on vista and everything worked fine but not the cfx-pre and the cfx-post. and i think that full vista compability comes not until ansys 12. on my xp machine this torrent download worked completely perffect, so jsut dont try it on vista. by the way: vista needs 500mb ram. dont you think that is too less ram left behind by vista for running cfd's? in cfx solver you will see that at the latest

you even need to update the files for the flexnet licensing, just let the license gengerator by magnitude do his work and answer both questions during license installation with yes. then you must only show the place of the license.dat and you can start

The other version of Ansys on mininova is only 2.03gb where this one is 2.8gb

I keep getting this.
lmgrd) The TCP port number in the license, 1055, is already in use.

Have you tried a repair install? When I first installed I got some errors, a repair install fixed it.
@All who have had, of know how to fix this problem:
I have everything working but meshing and Simulation. Advanced Meshing, Advanced CFD, Geometry, Blade Geometry, AUTODYN, FEM, Multiphysics, CFX, Turbogrid, all work, but simulation and meshing do not display in the projects window in Workbench... Any ideas, this is probably the feature I would use the most.
I was thinking it may be the license but everyone else seems to be ok? It may be my OS, I am running XP Media Centre x32.
Anyone in the same boat, any suggestions?

Hi everyone,
For the ones who run a win64 version of CFX11, do you have a real 64b version? Meaning: in CFX-solv, can you set 64bit in solver memory (or do you only have double precision available?)
I can't find a good 64b version of CFX, mine are only 32-bit versions that run on xp64 also.
Any help would be welcome!!

SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME.....
1. I installed the complete package successfully.
2. Then I followed the instructions and installed license.dat also successfully.
3. When I try to start Ansys I am getting this message "Unable to connect to the license server"
4. I also tried by restarting the license server in ANSLIC_ADMIN and reread the licence.dat. Both are done successfully.
5. Even after this, when I try to start ANSYS I am getting the same old message.

hi guys
i have literally been trying to install this for about 4 days straight on Vista sp1. I have tried pretty much everything that has been listed but nothing seems to work!
I toc could not get the crack that comes with the magnitude release to work, but found another crack in a .rar from the link in the post ( http://www.karlsruhe.hu/index.php/category/****/ ), however i do not think the license is working as the license log says the file is invalid!

After spending hours fixing my "Invalid license key (inconsistent authentication code)", it turns out that my Computer Name was the cause of all the problems.
If the license file generator creates a license.dat file with "this_host" in the first line, then I believe it has generated the file incorrectly. My Computer Name had a dash "-" in the name. I simplified the name to a single word and was able to generate a license file with the proper name appearing in the first line.
To change your Computer Name, right-click on My Computer, select Properties, click on the 'Computer Name' tab, click on 'Change', remove any problematic characters, press 'ok', and let the computer reboot if you are prompted.
Then "install" and re-read the license file using ANSLIC_ADMIN Utility.

I had a few problems installing this (, but after removing the program and starting again following Trivandrum post 5 & 6 it worked.
My issue now is that the license only lets me use 3 out of my 4 cores!
Is there a way to change the license file or something to give more licenses?

Hi every body...
I'm in a deep depression: I've tried the three methods proposed to install ANSYS(post 83&84, post 5&6, the video) on win XP... And in each case I don't see the "simulation" icone when I start the workbench.
I previously had an official academic version which is limited in use and I need really need a complete one...
Do anyone could guide me? I've read that one reinstalled XP and then it worked what do you think about this possibility?

There has been a mix up. This is not the SP1 release, but only the V11 release. However, this torrent includes the SP1 license generator that also works with V11. I'm confident that you can use this to install CFX and ICEM with a working version of SP1.
