Skeets74...your a complete fool and you know nothing about Nu-Metal or Metallica if you think that the album ...And Justice For All is Nu-Metal, and justice was one of the most artistic metal albums of all time.

Dudes, I can't decide on the best Metallica album - Ride the Lightning or the Justice album. What do you guys think? Oh, what do you girs think too? The Black album was good, but it can't compare to Lightning or Justice. I miss those epic 5 - 9.50 minutes Metallica songs, man. But Metallica is about changing w/ the times. That's why their still around.

Owwwww It's so sad... Metal freakies who think that they're the only ones who understand metal. Not!! "Tallica likes to play new material cause they're not monkeys playin' that same old songs over ans over again... I like the old stuff a lot, but waitin' for the new album!!! To buy it!! I have yet to put up a comment here so this is my first. I am a big R & B and Hip Hop fan and I still find myself putting in a Metallica CD here and there cause they are f'in awesome. They are one of the best metal bands ever. But I have to disagree with some of you. I heard the St. Anger cd and was highly disappointed. To me, what made Metallica hot was the solo's they ripped and St. Anger had none. But thanks to the uploader. Love Metallica.

Ok there are so many things wrong with these comments. First off Metallica cant even be considered metal since ...And Justice for all. Metallica went to an alternative style post justice, and from this they can never recover. Second, the foundation of metal is not Metallica, nor Iron Maiden. If you think they are then you dont even deserve to listen to metal. Metal was an underground scene until the mid 70's when bands like Motorhead, Mercyful Fate, and Kiss came onto the scene. Unless you know what you are commenting, dont comment. As far as Justice being one of the greatest metal albums ever, James Hetfield said himself, that he wishes they could have gone back and redone the album, because it ****ed so bad. Metallica never was, nor ever will be what they were with Cliff. When Cliff died, so did Metallica

****ing terrible rips. Sounds he used some kind of volume boost and it resulted massive clipping during the loud parts of these tracks. Total trash.
I downloaded about 10 torrents last night (Die Apokalyptschen Rieter, Ensiferum, Metallica, Maiden etc.) and about half were bad rips. *sigh*

KISS was never metal. Don't get me wrong, I love KISS, but they were more like the first hair band/shock rock band.
"Alternative" is an overused word. Metallica has changed over the years, but they have never stopped being a metal band(except for maybe St. Anger...not sure what that was...) Death Magnetic is the best album they've done in a LONG time in my opinion, just because it sounds so much like Justice and Lightning and they're old stuff.
People draw a line at the Black Album all the time, but nobody did when it came out. Everybody loved it. Now it's a sellout album. I think the sellouts are the people who loved it then, but say it was the beginning of the end now.
metal was underground just like you said...although I would have mentioned Black Sabbath instead of KISS, lol. Metallica brought it out in the open for everybody to listen to, which is something none of those other bands were able to pull off.
Every metal band that has come after them owes them that.

people dont like any of the newer albums because the general sound is somewhat distorted and the entire Saint Anger album had something wrong with the drums, they just sounded over tightened and if you have to split one bands career into two parts then you are a ****** and dont appreciate the band as what they are ****ING AWESOME
