Sure it works fine for me. Don't forget to install the OpenAL application located in the main directory of the game

1- mount the .BIN image with magicdisk or daemon tools or alcohol 120%...just pick one...
-instead of mounting the image you can also burn the .BIN image into a CD...
2- INSTALL the game
3- explore the cd or the image mounted and IN the HATRED folder you will find the crack(penumbra.exe)
4- put the crack into the game directory
5- install the OpenAL application somewhere in the cd or mounted image directory
6- Play and enjoy!

1-Installed game,ok.
2-When i got to put the crack it's froze up my computer and im forced to rester my PC.so it's alwais do it no mater how many time i try.
I can't play cuz im not able to take to crack im only able to open the folder where is the crack and it's at this moment my computer freeze.If any1 could help me...I alwais installed game with crack and it's frist time that happen to me.

It works but now i am at the room part and the fourth time but i can't do anything in there i looked everywhere.i looked it up in a walktrough and it said you needed to jump on the moving platforms.but there ar no platforms at all so its probebbly bugged....

There is a hotfix out for crashes when coming out of the Chemical Laboratory(Level 19) with substance along with some graphical card issues. Will have to wait until a NO-CD fix is out from this.

The game is working but it craches in the tutorial ,,in any interaction like holding the box or anything ,,n in the game too it just brings my desktop back any ideas ?

what the hell is this after i take the blood from the dead scientist and use the blood to open the door it works fine but when entering the door the game shuts down by it self and returns to my desktop... heeelllppp... plzz...! somebody else havin the same problem? if u can fix it mail me at kawesh13@hotmail.com

This torrent is not working game crashes in the middle of game in some storage.I have 1.01 patch and no cd crack ,but still it crashes .Dont download it you will see game only work to half of the game.

Hmmm...i installed as instructed, but when i open it says
"The procedure entry point alSource3i could not be located in dynamic link library OpenAL32.dll."
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling openal...over and over, it doesnt even seem to do anything when it install and i cant find anything simliar if the previously asked questions...
ive triend patching aswell...no luck

When I try to start up the game (with the cracked exe of course), it says that the application can't start because it couldn't find the SDL.dll file, yet it's there. A little help here plz?

I have been trying to open this download for hours now! Please help, I feel like I have read everything I can to try to figure it out.
1. I mounted the .bin file and installed.
2. I have looked everywhere for the crack and can't find it. I have been opening the Hatred file with jedit and get the ascii and some text. No executable file.
3. Everything looks like I did it right, except when I go to run the game I get: "Wrong disk inserted, PDX2707EU, insert the original CD/DVD."
4. Any suggestions at all????? I'm sorry if this is repeating anything. ANY help would be appreciated.

In daemon tools it freeze up everytime i go to folder "hatred"

my Dtools didnt want to read the .bin file either, and loading .cue didn't work. What I did was use Nero to burn .cue image to .nrg (set your recorder to image recorder in nero) and then mounted it no prob with Dtools.

i see this prob all the time when people go mounting on virt's blah blah why not just extract the rars then open the file's it give's you with magiciso or poweriso extract them then just install from set-up.exe do the crack bit copy paste etc etc and there you go !
p.s just so you dont have the game 3 times on your p.c once you extract the rars delete and once you've installed delete the bin cue etc otherwise a 600meg game becomes1.8gig lol gl

Funciona muy bien , solo hay q descomprimir todos los archivos al mismo tiempo... y el crack hay q copiarlo dentro de la carpeta archivo de programa/paradox interactive/penumbra black plague/redist. obviamnete despues de estar instalado el juego en C.
Y ya hay oarche para dejarlo en castellano... descargar de ARES... y copiarlo en reemplazo de la carpeta redist.. NADA MAS....

allright here's what u do...download the v.1.0.1 patch from here... http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/penumbrablackplague/download_6187020.html?om_act=convert&om_clk=files ...and then go here... http://dl.gamecopyworld.com/?d=2008&f=htd-pbp1!rar ...and download this file...extract it and paste penumbra.exe in your <game dir>\redist\ and replace the file with the new penumbra.exe...then copy the SDL.dil file in that folder(just underneath the penumbra.exe) and paste it in penumbra.exe...it says fatal error in loading the game for the first time...but u can safely ignore it...so start the game again...and i really hope this works...if there is any problems mail me at hasnain_untitled@yahoo.com...hope it works! it did for me!

But just copy and paste these .EXE files (hatred.exe and penumbra.exe, found in the mounted image) in the CORRECT folder: /Penumbra Black Plague/redist.
Works perfectly, no need to unpack the "super_secret.exe" file !

Hey guys take note:
=PROBLEM=
If your game starts BUT
1) doesn't show the intro text when loading,
2) shows white boxes (supposed to be the title movie) after displaying the companies' logos,
3) crashes upon clicking at the white boxes or after the supposed title movie,
=DIAGNOSIS=
The language file is missing or corrupted,
or the font files are missing or corrupted,
or both.
=SOLUTION=
1) Go to <USER's> Documents/Penumbra/Black Plague/
2) Open up settings.cfg with notepad.
3) Find 'LanguageFile=' without the quotes.
4) Change the value "Russian.lang" (or whatever .lang is there) to "English.lang".
=CONCLUSION=
Well it worked perfectly for my case and I managed to finish the game after patching.
I discovered the solution by chance while fiddling with the game files to find a cure to this problem.
Hope it works for those in similar troubles.
