just open with Winrar (it says errors but just ignore it) then double click Setup and leave ur computer for a few hours.

Worked great, simple and easy. Extract all files, run .bat file, and play. Game worked flawlessly, no problems with loading, game saves, or anything. 100% worth the download, people just need to seed, the ratio of seeders to leechers isn't good. If you can't get good download speed here, try PirateBay, same Skullptura download over there.

I had a lot of problems trying to get it installed, but after it worked perfectly.
I got the same error as heiko, but when I deleted all the files and extracted again it worked.

i googled the "Video card or driver doesn't support UBYTE4N vertex data." problem. it is most probably the graphics card that doesn't meet minimum requirements. yes i'm also upset. i'm gonna try call of duty 2 instead

Everything works good for me.
To instll the game use WinRAR to extract not aything else.
Then open the setup and run it.
It will take ages (a few hours)
It may look stuck at 1% but in the end it will work

As the torrent description says " ripped versions are not able to play online"... Period.

Single player plays smooth until,trying to play online I try and add a cracked surver I.P Address to my favorites it doesn't show up under favorites.When i try to add againg it says it's already there,but i can't find it.It should be the only one under there.What is the best way to play on the cracked servers?

I have COD4 installed in my computer and I want to make a rip of the game so that I dont have to install it all over again whenever I reinstall Windows, which I do pretty often. As installing the game again deletes all my previous scores, settings etc, I want to avoid that. I tried to zip the whole game folder with 7z but it comes to about 5+ GB which doesnt fit in one DVD5.
Please guide me as to which files can be eliminated while zipping so that the game keeps running smoothly whenever I restore the game. Videos are not important to me and so I can always eliminate those files. Which are the other files that I can eliminate so as to make the rip as small as possible. Do I also need to take backup of some elements of registry?

secondly, When i go 2 play on cracked severs i get this message "code_post_gfx_mp.ff is different from the server". Which means if this problem is fixed we can play on Cracked severs. PS, I will share the info on all the cracked severs in the game once someone helps me solve this problem.

Ok i installed this with utorrent and everything worked fine then opened with winrar then i clicked on setup.bat and it downloaded to 50% then thw windows system thing comes up where is sais dont run any programs while you do this. So i close evrything on my computer and it said click anywhere to continue so i clock a button then it like exits and nothing happens, like no install bar or anything. So i did the same thing but i kept winrar open and it said the thing about the problem that eather the cd isnt 3g or theres still programs open, this is frustrating what should i do to make it start to download and work successfully?

I deleted everything and started over. I got past the "debugger" problem. Now the game appears as though its about to start and I get a pop up titled iw3sp.exe. It says 'iw3sp.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.'

After six hours it still stayed on 1% i deleted and started again and waited another 2 hours for it to still stay on 1% i have never had a problem with any other games before so i dont no why i do with this one

Ok i finally sorted it out i would say this is the best thing to do straight away
start>run> type-> msconfig ,and press enter> press services tab> check "hide all microsoft services" box> uncheck all service boxes> press "startup" tab> uncheck all startup items> press apply> restart PC> run setup.bat now> to restore all - do same - check all boxes back and restart
Or for Vista, Start, all programs ,accsessories, run, msconfig click ok select start up, disable all boxes, then restart and then, run set up bat

OK if any1 has been too lazy to read the comments above, what u do if u dont no how 2, istall power ISO or another extraction software (its free) then u just drag the 2.9 gig file in, the at the top of the tool bar there is a option saying "mount" this means u can then find it in "computer" and then u just install normaly

Well, I was doubtful of this download but lo and behold it worked. once you extract file with winRAR, go to file and double-click on setup. It may not look like a setup file but it is. It opens a black command screen telling you the deal... once you press any key it should take some time to finish. It worked for me except for online, haven't figured that one out yet. I mean, I can start server but when I try to join one it tells me my cdkey is being used. My question is "can I join a 'nocd key' server like in halo for pc?" Great torrent btw!

Big thanks to gizmolio. It took a lot of tries but it worked finally.
for those facing problems:
1. make sure you have latest direct x version. link is provided in the torrent.
2. after disabling startup items , just change the location for extracting files in winrar 3.71 and then click extract.
3. and yes it works on vista home premium.
minimum hardware requirement ( which works)
1. pentium grade processor
2. 2 gb ram.
3. 128 mb Nvidia 8400 GS or equivilant graphics card.
4. 10 gb free hard disk space.

Works perfect! You'll just have to wait something like 45-60 mins after double-clicking setup.bat, then you'll can play this AWESOME game.
This ****ing rocks guys, gfx are pretty good (much than Crysis' ones indeed, coz COD4 doesn't need a NASA computer to run good) and gameplay kicks asses.
LAN multiplayer game pwnz too, by the way.

What Skull did here was repackage the .iwd files so that this RiP would get a nice 2.5GB size. But the game does not accept the repackaged files!
After you install skull's rip (i suggest installing in safe mode), you got to find the ORIGINAL .iwd files from the Call of Duty 4 DVD.
Go to the folder you installed tha game and in the "main" folder you will see several files like "iw_00.iwd" "iw_01.iwd" etc
We need the following files from the original Call of Duty IV DVD

After doing this, you need to patch your CoD 4. Install the patches in this order:

@ StarBlades-There is no virus/trojan/keylogger in any of skullptura's releases so far and there never will. There are Viruses/Trojans in ToED's release and thats another story.
To get rid of annoying antivirus/firewall errors, boot into SAFEMODE and then install the game! I installed it 3 times in safemode and no problems at all!!
No Virus/Trojan/Keylogger reported by AVG 8.0 and COMODO DEFENSE+ 3.0

@ LIMON877, dourblah - Basically these .iwd files are ZIP archives that contain the various files needed by the game. (Just Open them with WinRAR and see! )
What Skullptura did was resample the various audio files in the ZIP archive and then he recreated the iwd files. The good thing is that it is much reduced size! But the game ONLY ACCEPTS ORIGINAL IWD FILES FROM CALL OF DUTY IV DVD!! Yes the problem starts with iw_06.iwd, but first I only tried replacing iw_06.iwd. The game loads but an error message will come up stating that "invalid iwd_07 file referenced"
So when you replace iw_07 it will ask for iw 08 -- when u replace iw_08 it will ask for 09 ...and so on. If you want to play multiplayer, you have to get the iwd_06, 07, 08, 09, 10, 11 files!
I am smoothly playing Multiplayer with this rip and i reached level 20 now!!

@DragonFreak -- '256Mo' ? That might mean it is 256MB. I need the exact model number. You can know that by RIGHT CLICKING "MY COMPUTER". Then click properties. Then click on HARDWARE tab. Then click device manager. Then click on DISPLAY ADAPTER. There you will see your card model number! DragonFreak, you can also type your error in Google---surely other people hav experienced the same problem and they might have posted the solution!!

gunhand, AND EVERYONE ELSE: MP doesnt work anymore, i know the hacked servers have gone down, i know i cant play on them so i went and bought my copy, and when you do finally get some servers that do work, they crash, its full of hackers, or you got some fool in there running lame bots and mods automatically killing you over and over, so its just not fun to play..its not worth the time unless you buy it like i finally did...

gunhand, as for it asying SP dont work..try updating your video card drivers BUT BUT BUT, if you have an onboard video card solution, which is on the motherboard, COD4 isnt supported by onboard video cards, you HAVE to have an aftermarket solution..
and if you have a laptop with a Geforce 8600 or Radeon 2400 or equivilent, COD4 may NOT be supported, so just because you spent the extra do' to get a nice video card on your laptop, you wasted your ***** because games dont support onboard 8600 and 8800 on laptops..why? because its still "an onboard graphics card solution"

and at least i can say i downloaded this game, tried it, liked it, and like a REAL person should, i went out and bought it..since THAT IS the whole reason of downloading games..is to try and then buy...

oh and its perfectly okay to list the specs of your pc, i mean it gives a person a rough idea of what systems can completely play the smoothly..if you got a pc like mine, then you can play it on high with all the settings turned up at a high resolution..just helpin the people out..instead of complaining like the others lmmfao

well it doesnt really matter about all that either, but just because you say what you have, its proving that you have what you have..i got pictures, specs, and all that to prove mine...and if you really had the setup you really had, you woudlnt be downloading games in the first place..youd have enough ***** to go out and buy the games..so dont post specs of somthing you have no proof of, and dont make yourself look like an ass showing everyone you have a $1500 setup and you cant afford to go out and buy original games

Serious, some ppl always say that they cant open it, that they can't run the game, but they even arnt trying to do their best. When I download a game, I always get it to works. This one works fine

PS. For ppl who cant get the game worked, maybe your computer isnt good enough. You can see that on www.canirunit.com and select Call of Duty 4. That site will say if your computer can run it or can't, if you can't he will also tell you why in cant and what isnt good enough to run it.

Then take a look at the post "145" of this topic and download the files. And to finish, go to: "http://www.private-servers.info/CallOfDuty4.html" You can find free private servers here, just add IP adresses in your favorites servers and you will be able to play.

Now I have a problem. I can connect on any server easily, but after like 3-5 minutes playing, my client starts lagging. My screen is freezing like 3 seconds, then my char move during 1 second, then it freeze again for 3 seconds, etc... The only way to stop this is to close my client.
I didnt have this problem yesterday when I played, so anyone could help me please? (anyways, thanks for this torrent skullptura )

n ive some questions
i encounterd the moving objects (soldiers,tanks,grass,etc) sometimes goes too dark/too bright, n no blood, no ragdoll fx, n looks like no mipmap fx too (not sure for this 1)
Tough ive set all to ON, is that just normal, or its my PC prob, or mayb thats cause by ripped?
