You know, the best part is, Trent released this under a Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial Share Alike license, so this torrent is actually completely legal.

2.Posted by ReZNoR99 on Mar 03 2008 at 15:59

yeah, but the really best part is that it's only $5 to support him directly by buying this... not that i didn't take advantage of downloading this torrent when i couldn't get onto the ordering page last night because too many ppl were trying to buy it at the same time...

3.Posted by Blackrave on Mar 03 2008 at 16:05

Yeah, the official website is completely hammered. My download stopped completely after a few seconds, and it's a one-time download link. So thanks a lot!

4.Posted by Scuzzy89 on Mar 03 2008 at 17:03

i think i'll check out the official Ghosts 1 release first, cuz 4 cds of instrumental tracks is challenging even for me.

but hey for the equivalent of about £2.50 for 2 hours of new reznor material, that man is a legend!

5.Posted by smeghammer on Mar 03 2008 at 17:18

Legend indeed, yet more to add to the collection...thanks..

6.Posted by Khfurious on Mar 03 2008 at 18:45

For a legend this is really aweful, mediocre and boring. its all instrumental and very mellow compared to the Kick azz sounds this artist has had inthe paste no wonder its only 5.00 dollars else where. very dissapointing and boring. gone are the days of pretty hate machine and downward spiral.

7.Posted by xiojq on Mar 03 2008 at 18:51

This music is almost minimalistic. I would suggest listening to it before purchasing.

Older Nails is much better :D

this aint wild like the old nin songs dis mild like most new songs :'( :'(

10.Posted by PseudoEntite on Mar 03 2008 at 20:21

It's nothing but instrumentals. What were you honestly expecting? Year Zero pt. 2? You do realize that the Ghost albums are the mid-point before YZ-2, right? Anyways, get this here before getting it on the official site. As someone pointed out, it's legal. Also, the site you can get it on (the official one) is laggy as hell, right now. So it's best to "try before you buy" here, first. =]

I keep getting a "got bad file info -path .DS_Store disallowed for security reasons." error.

12.Posted by denizen23 on Mar 03 2008 at 22:24

same

13.Posted by AntistarSessions on Mar 03 2008 at 23:53

the albums are just ...i have no word to how great they are.it might not be the NIN standard but to me its great s.e.x music ;]

Good quality audio and great extras. I am waiting for the Blu-Ray release :)

15.Posted by cdeltahouse on Mar 04 2008 at 02:31

I already paid for it but the "1 time only" download site crashed midway thru , and tech support wont call back. so i feel justified in downloading now

16.Posted by onlyforx on Mar 04 2008 at 08:20

I can say that this is different and i like it alot. The site crashed on me but i am not really worried about it. Im sure everything will be situated soon. It really shows how many true fans he has. :)

Man I love this album (got the $10 pack, along with a FLAC download). I listened to it twice on a long drive today, I'm not worried at all about NIN going sour in the future, because this album proves that Trent and his studio pals are at the top of their writing game. I'm looking forward to Year Zero part 2 more than ever, now.

BTW, right now, ghosts.nin.com is the fastest I've seen it yet, so if you're considering buying over torrenting, now's your chance!

By the way, if your download failed while you were getting it off the official site, try it again now. My tech support responded after I complained of a broken connection (which didn't stop me from trying the link again shortly after and proceeding to get it 100% downloaded) and they were resetting all the download counters with the server upgrades.

Haha at all the whingers crying it's instrumental. I haven't heard something so creative in a long time. This is what I call creativity. Not only the music; but the whole timing and release. Keeps people on their toes!

20.Posted by splatvox on Mar 04 2008 at 09:51

awesome, just bleedin awesome.

21.Posted by swishercutter on Mar 04 2008 at 11:24

I bought this last night, took forever to get through, $5 for 36 tracks is a great deal. Some may complain that it is all instrumental but it does not need vocals to make an impression.
Classical has few vocals also but still has a powerful effect. Also, ask yourself what Mozart would have sounded like if he had MIDI.

Brilliant, some people can't seem to get their head around some of the concepts here. Downward Spiral and Pretty were pretty straight forward albums but this is musical genius. 5/5

So pleased with NIN's current state of mind. Already listened to Ghosts I and thought it was amazing, loved his work on the Quake soundtrack and this feels pretty familiar. I don't have a credit card (as well as living in Australia) so I have to wait until next month before I can show my appreciation.

Thanks to mindscan for sharing this with us.

24.Posted by araziel on Mar 04 2008 at 18:40

I really really enjoyed this so far, haven't listened all the way through yet. If you like this album try out 65 days of static people, it's some of the same stuff.

Ah, damn it feels good to pirate legally ;)
Already bought it but I might as well comment here and help seed some.

.flac lossless for those of you, who love it. ;)
(narf, upped it into the wrong folder ... "other" instead of "music", better luck next time)

wasn't impressed enough overall with the last two nin albums. the fact that this one's instrumental definately caught my interest. i'm feeling a little optimistic since someone said it was somewhat reminiscent of the Quake soundtrack he did.

27.Posted by jadams1981 on Mar 06 2008 at 01:26

p.s. i still say Pretty Hate Machine was his opus. when i put it on, there's not one track that i wanna skip through.

28.Posted by jadams1981 on Mar 06 2008 at 01:32

hey mindscan, what's the difference between this torrent and the other one you linked on comment 25?

29.Posted by katscanious on Mar 08 2008 at 05:12

Seriously. $5.00 That's £2.50 (ish) UK. If you are a NIN fan and you are downloading this as free torrent.. Yeah nice. Good job. Well done. Hope you sleep at night. scabs.

I bought this for 5$ from the above site, didn't get my DL link emailed yet so I'll be using this torrent... Trent is one of the few musicians I support due to his vocal support denouncing the big labels. This collection has an interesting story how it came to be created and inspired...

The first 9 of 36 tracks are free to DL at the ghosts site.

32.Posted by TreyTable on Mar 26 2008 at 12:28

If this music turns out to be at least 60% good, I'll buy retail, if not, it gets deleted.

33.Posted by beyondtool on Mar 29 2008 at 03:53

Oh cmon guys, instrumental or not there's plenty of variety here. It covers the whole gamut of NIN's back catalog of styles. The fact that it has no copyright attached is awesome, just imagine what could happen with this music when it gets into the hands of some creative people..remixes, games, flash sites..it could be huge!

It's fantastic background music if nothing else..
