I istalled and it's kinda working....But I canot add any new tracks into to it ...Which probably defeats the whole perpose of the software....any help? Am I doing something wrong or just got a bad/incomplete version????

How do you mean you cant add tracks?
That sounds like a problem with the software itself not the download..
To add tracks you have to right click on the left hand bar, then click add track.
Whats your PC spec? Maybe its something to do with that.

this downloaded so quickly so thanks to all for seeding! 
but it didnt install right.. it had an error with the H20 driver.. but first time it says ..'H20 detected.. now restart and un setup again.' then i do this and it has an error but you can still install it. however when you go to run cubase it says no security protection device connected...
can anyone please help me?

Any help as i have lost my offical dongle and i can't use my sl2 software anymore as steinberg will not replace a lost dongle..

So I think I kind of worked out how to fix the vista problem.
1) Goto add or remove software. Delete anything Cubase related. So thats anything with the name Cubase or Stienberg in it. When your uninstalling make sure you do custom uninstall and delete EVERYTHING. All the dll files, everything.
2) Now run the install provided in the torrent.
See my next comment for further steps...

3) It should at some point inform you that you have to install the new hardware. Vista does this automatically and you should hear a little di-ding to let you know it worked out alright (if it says you already have the hardware installed, then you need to go back and retry stage one). Restart.
4) Hopefully your taskbar wont crash. Click start and type msconfig. Select startup and make sure your allowing Cledx.exe to start when your PC boots up. Restart again then try it out.
Note: I still found that sometimes (although very rarely) Cubase wont be able to detect the protection device when starting up. If this happens try restarting your computer (this worked every time for me).

Than i immediately Scan My Computer , and in the Startup Directory found again "Trojan.Win32.Patched.ch" . From the 1-st Scan till the 2-nd , the computer wasn't connected to the net ... so the Trojan came from this torrent

Now get this to illegally download software you need an illegal crack to do the trick
Kaspersky made a crack to emulate a dongle which is like a flash drive that you would plug in to verify that you own the software.
If you have any experience in program cracking, bypasses like kaspersky made are detected as trojans
Now for you 30 minute startup problem, with most programs you have to restart your computer to complete the installation.
Well what happens is the programs complete the setup of the program as your computer starts up
It's just that most of the installing cubase has is during startup and is not a permanent thing.

And if you still think ITS BAAAD 
Then you can use the add/remove programs function to get rid of it, delete the setup file, and delete the "trojan" with your antivirus soft ware that detected it.

For everyone with the "No protection device connected." with XP. I don't have vista so I don't know if this will work on that system.
1. Click start
2. Go to All Programs
3. Find SyncroSoft Emu
4. Click on Syncro TruEmu Team H2O
Done!!!
On my computer, the taskbar doesn't come up so I just press the window button on the keyboard or Alt+Tab to cycle through the windows.

I HAVE THIS WORKING ON VISTA!! all i done was just installed it and restarted when asked! last time i tried (about 6 months ago) it locked the taskbar. MAYBE it is working this time because i have a powerfuller computer AND i have vista ultimate with service pack 1 installed now. my specs are 3gb athlon 64 x2, 500gb hd, 2gb ram, onboard HD sound, geforce 5600gt 1gb. try and install it when you have SP1 installed that might of been the solution all along!

Solution:
Start Menu/Run/regedit/HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Run...and here you delete the H2O key, then go back to Start/Programs/SyncroSoft Emu...and make a shortcut of "Syncro TruEmu Team H2O" to anywhere for your easy access, and don't forget to open it before running Cubese, that's it!!

Mine seemed to install fine - eventually. This must have been about the tenth torrent i tried!
I ran the install file and when it asked about the syncro hardware i clicked ok to install the hardware using the recommended setting. i was a bit concerned when i saw all the trouble folks were having with this, but after i got the "your hardware is installed and ready to use" i could access the programme, use it and save then reopen! Yeeee haaaa! This has been a tremendous boost. I had the discs but they got lost and a big chunk of my music was not accessoble to me till i finally got this working. thanks a million times to the uploader.

ok "DjAv1", take this as your final choice: this release of Cubase works just perfectly well, the VSTs (plugins), recording at 24 bit with no problem, plays lots of tracks (like hundreds) at the same time loaded with effects and never crashes, isn't it beautiful? And!! if you don't want to have problems with frozen Taskbar, just follow the instructions on the post #44 BEFORE YOU RESTART!! after installation finishes. Hope you find it nice as I did...good luck!

I've tried a lot of different releases all around the torrents and this is the only one stable, it never (or almost never) crashes, I tried it on XP & Vista; in both works very well!!! cheers!! I don't think I will upgrade to the v4 anymore, oh no! I did it like twice and it was a pain in the neck, too much problem to get a stable one, I recognize the effort the guys are doing, but no success yet...

I gave up on installing in Vista...CLED errors over and over. This worked perfectly first time on XP, so if you have both OSs, skip Vista and save the grief.

To ResourcE: my Norman Virus Control also found a virus in this. It is telling me W32/Packed_FSG.D Soundofpillows, are you saying that this is the crack from H2O being pointed out as a trojan, and it's not a trojan? This is the only program that I've got a crack for, that is saying this. A lil help? I couldn't even get past install because the Virus Control kicked it into quarantine. If this is the case, and it's just the crack, please lemme know. I'll just except it from scanning. Thanks! Otherwise, everything went fine with program install. LoL!

Alright, so paranoid ol me went and scanned this with everything else I've got. AVG comes out clean, Avast also comes out clean. I've got Kaspersky, but I haven't bothered to install it yet. Seems fine, excepted it from scanning, the dongle emulator workes great, as does the program itself. Many thanks to the uploader on this one!

@ VulcanGoF: lol that's right!, some crack tools are detected by some Anti Virus as virus, but of course, they're not! this one is clean, I swear you that, now! if you want an advice? don't ever install Kaspersky if you are using cracked programs, it's really a pain in the neck, I myself had it once, it's a very good AV (if not the best), but for that same reason it keeps on blocking and making a whole mess with the cracks...anyway! you do whatever you mind to.

Vista Home SP1 (Sony Vaio VGN-FW21L):
I installed and followed posts #44 and #49 carefully. I have no locked taskbars but receive an error message when running Cubase SX3. Disappointed that I cannot get it to work, especially as I followed instructions carefully and ran program in Compatibility Mode.
Will post back if I get it working.

right, ive had my H2O for quite a while now. everything works on it. no probs up until about 10 minutes into using it, when it decides to fail! the play bar does not run smoothly across the page which means the play back is all jolty and lags big time. i could really do with some help on this. if anyone knows can you please help me!
Could it be my computer, drivers, the actuall program itself?

it works alright i think, but i can't get my MIDI connected. the line goes up and down when i press a key but there is no sound and i keep getting the message :

i had problems with that too because i have vista, you should install the ASIO4ALL driver, then go to devices->device setup->vst audability and choose the driver. you can find it here http://www.asio4all.com/
only problem i have now is i record multiple tracks and when i try to listen to them they get all messed up, some of them i can't even hear

ok have onstalled asio but now there is nothing coming in on the input. It is not registering any incoming sound even the onboard mic can anyone sugest a way to sort this annoying problem out

When i do double click on the installer, it opens and closes. I've tried another installers, and there are the same problem. I've tried to unistall all previous files of cubase and syncrosoft, but it doesn't work or i can't find all of it. I don't know what to do, i have been working about this problem all week long. I've been using this for years now with no problems. However, many of the VST plugins out there have viruses in their keygens and installers. I had to reformat because of a virus in a installer. Make sure you only install VST plugins that use keygens, and run that keygen in a sandboxed environment (such as Sandboxie). I had the taskbar problem on my old, outdated laptop, but there are fixes on the net. I have never had that problem on my faster, newer, desktop. I guess it is related to a hardware issue on the affected computer.

Yes avg found some problems-virus and toolbar freeze. Just press F8 on start up and boot in save mode and uninstall it.

There is a virus included within the .exe file, If you're not getting the virus warning, then your anti-virus program is outdated.
Do NOT download this, .exe is Infected with Virus.
