b) constantly closing the sites for further comments. Leave it open godda.mmit. As we all know - the whole idea of these mini-forums are to give your experience, grattitude and anger for whatever reason. so stop closing it.

Since a few of you are on the subject of Mods, I don't really read too many of the comments section on axxo releases anymore as once you get to know axxo releases there is not much point unless you want to read if the movie is worth watching ie good story etc
So on the subject of Mods I haven't really noticed (due to my infrequent visits) Perhaps comments you are referring to had been deleted before I did visit.However I do notice on other forums Mods can tend to get a bit carried away sometimes and often there seem to be 2 sets of rules depending on who you are and if one has taken a liking or disliking to you. Not saying this is the case here.
I think general comments should be allowed weather they be positive or negative, just as long as they are constructive and informative and said in a sensible manner.

Since everyone is so busy complaining about the mods, perhaps you should stop and think. There are only 4 mods and they are stretched thin, even mods are allowed to have bad days. I used to frequent the mini forum and have found all the mods helpful as well as friendly. I am sure that since this comment space is for commenting on the quality of the download, when you start trashing an up loader the mods get tired of it and I am sure it is much easier just to close the thread because of a few people who ruin it for others. Nobody is forced 2 download any files. axxo made a name for himself so long ago that he became legend, but I do not seek just axxo files, I seek whomever has a good rip of the movie I want. Just stop complaining about all the axxo butt kissers and talk about the film quality, that is what is important. I no longer frequent the forum like I used to cos I have become addicted to WOW. Most of the people here don’t care if they are kissing butt or not. Believe it or not - Axxo is a pop star. The guy has even an own page on Wikipedia!! I want to have my own page in Wikipedia I mean I don’t like it either but I think its OK to show a little exaggerated gratitude (in your words kissing axxos ball sack) in HIS forum.

Mininova created those little flags and “say thanks” button for people to come and actually say thank you in a “drive by” or express. But my guess is that a lot of people have a problem with it, because its not personal. You have to let people show their own emotions. If they step or cross the line – then yes delete his/her comment, kick em out, ban them. I want to know one person that got offended and stopped downloading from axxo because another one said cr.ap about him

I myself have never had a problem with a mod but I still agree partially with you – yes even mods are allowed to have bad days. But then I will recommend them to take the day off and not come in here. Because if he responds negative to one person (for whatever reason), 1000 others also read that comment – why? because its in RED. Without bothering to read the 20 green comments of regular users before the mod’s comment, and the reason why the mod responded like that, people already tend to build an (negative) opinion about the mod.

Besides – talking about the quality – as we all know the quality of axxos’s files are superb. So no one will bother writing anything about the quality anymore. So we are left with the choices of:
a) personally thanking axxo,
b) talking about the movie (plot, ending, story, acting, etc.)
c) in some cases warnings of fakes and
d) b*itch about everything else (as-s-kissing of uploaders, how miserable my life is, our WOW addictions, etc). in order to control d) you also restrain a), b) and c). That cant be. Leave the forums open.

First of all – I really have to give Mininova guys and girls credit for what they are doing. I really love this site. Its 100 times better then TPB or any other site I have been. Its user friendly and has an excellent overview and - I love the search engine (in opposite to tpb). Mininova also protects the uploaders where as other sites don’t. So its understandable that they are strict towards toilet-brushes that have nothing else to do in their miserable life than to come in here, register and spread the cr.ap that is sticking to them. So a little moderated power is Ok and necessary. But when you lose the flexibility, that’s when people like me (and some of you) come in, take the right to stand up and criticize it.

Let me just clear a few things up & hopefully everyone will understand things a little better.
We close the comments section on some aXXo torrents, as members are no longer talking about the torrent or it's quality, they go off topic - talking about which uploader is better than which, which always leads to members flaming each other....
If you go to download a torrent, do you really want to read through 200 comments of people flaming each other?
We need to spend our time keeping mininova clean for you guys rather than going through comments one by one on just ONE single torrent.
Keep in mind thousands of torrents get added everyday, and thousands of reports get sent in everyday, so we have SO much work to do here.
Have a look at other torrent sites. Look at the amount of p0rn and fakes that exist there. We are only working for you guys, keeping this place clean.

Just one last point, the only comments we remove (and before posting this I had to removed 19 posts) are Flaming comments, spam, and general rubbish that is helpful to no one.
By all means talk about the torrent, its quality, the movie, if you liked it or not, but don't give out to us if some others are filling the comments section with rubbish

This is a great site for finding movies that are offered by all sorts of uploaders. It's a crying shame what get's posted on the torrents that are genuine and true movies. You all know who you are! Just keep it simple and enjoy all your free DL's. A comment on quality and a thank-you is all you need to post on mininovas torrents. Everyone have a great day and remember to keep it simple!

You're right!!! And I totally agree with you. The Mods here are simply AWESOME. They indeed do a GREAT job keeping the site clean, plus they are very helpful and friendly over at the forums.
They must have their reasons for closing aXXo topics well in advance of any other.
Like you said, there's not much to add to aXXo torrents other than Thank You, 10/10 and any other positive comments we can think about. Still, sometimes it would be nice to write a thank you, since there's much more feeling in writing than just clicking a thank you button.

See and this is what I don’t understand: who cares?? Does axxo or any other uploader / downloader care if people talk about other uploaders? If yes please speak up!!! In my opinion its freedom of choice, preference, experience and taste and people talk about it. So let them. 70-80% of the people in here know about fxg, fxm, etc. And Im 100% sure that the uploaders know of each others presence too. But if someone wants to download an axxo version they will do so - not caring about the other releasers/uploaders – or even better: not caring what other downloaders have to say. Again, there has to be a line, in if that line is crossed, the user should be deleted / banned.

Look, I have an idea that might be a solution to your problem but I don’t want to post it publicly. It shouldn’t be hard to implement it technically. Moe if you have access to my e-mail address, just drop me a line and I will tell you about it. If not then tell me where to go. Send it to the admins and discuss it internally what they think about it.
Another idea is: I think what mininova should do is build a communication bridge between the releasers / uploaders to not be in competition with eachother rather than work or network with each other. What I mean is to not releasing the same movie in 100 different versions rather than releasing one movie and support its publication.
Why not go by genre for example. As most of us know by now, axxo prefers the horror genre. Fine - great – excellent!!!! We have a specialist that knows the genre and releases (to his opinion) only the best from that genre.

Yes I am fully aware of that but that’s not what I meant. What I mean is for example – axxo releases “there will be blood”. fxg, fxm and the other “major labels” release axxos version in their accounts or use their channels to spread --> and vice versa.
All releasers can profit from each other (e.g. save time) and each of them can concentrate on a certain genre to not only bring the newest releases but also great classics. Not only users profit from that but also you – the mods. You don’t have to delete childish cr.ap of who is better than whom anymore. Thats a win,win,win
As mentioned, this can only be achieved by cooperation through communication and networking.

About the topic above with the adding of comments thing, i'm glad it's been brought up. Lately i was wondering why adding of comments is most of the time not allowed anymore when in fact this is supposed to be the place where we can "comment". My only concern with the site situation is posting of comments.
I have totally clean comments with nothing close to a "cuss" word, and it wont post because of "cuss" words.
One time I typed "This movie was great! Thank you" and it wouldnt let me post because of cuss words.
I tried 7 times with no success that day.
I think the bot controlling what words prevent posts should be shut off.
And add a button to report bad posts. Simple.

Dammit... even the best rippers keep forgetting to do a pulldown or slowdown (depends on how the DVD was made) on PAL material to get it from 25fps to film 23.976fps.
aXXo, PM me if you want to know how, or you could probably find out through Google.
The advantages of correcting the framerate are multiple... if the DVD was made with a pulldown, a non-pulldown corrected rip will have slight jitters every around 25th frame. If it was sped up by ~4% to get to 25fps, not slowing it back down means the movie is in all a few minutes shorter since it plays almost unnoticeably faster (though it does look better), and the audio will be slightly higher pitch.
I can fix this myself, but it's annoying since I have to re-encode the audio after TimeShift()ing in order to have it in sync.

up-yours, seed to at least 1.0 ratio. If you can do it longer, that would be great.
As for transcoding audio, I run it through convertxtod dvd (easy) then burn automatically.
aXXo vids always turn out perfect that way. Including this one.

I downloaded this movie a while back and it was good quality but d.u.l.l. to watch. Sorry had to write it like that. D.U.L.L. seems to be a swear word according to mininova. It looks like AXXO is back. I know you've come under other names such as FXG and some other names. I could be wrong but FXG has the same quality as your movies so I just assumed it was you. Just wondering if you could upload Don't Go To Sleep. I've been stuck at 4.0 for two days now and it's extremely irritating.

Well, since the moderator sez we can comment on the movie, I'll say it scared the bejezzus out me. There are a good number of spooky scenes that are really amped up a notch with the awesome music.
Now, I think that if you lack an understanding of spoken spanish, even though the english subtitles are included, the impact of the scenes is lost (or lessened) if you have to spend time reading. I personally am versed in both languages, but my son, who is still learning spanish, didn't enjoy the movie as much. Your mileage may vary, but it's still worth a watch.

I seem to have a problem with the last two aXXo torrents I downloaded (this one and 'there will be blood') :
When I open the folder containing the files system crashes for a few seconds MS Visual Studio alerts me for an unhandled exception and then all open windows are terminated and then I return to desktop..
With so many peers it surprises me that I am the only one mentioning it..I can't be just me..anyway
Any ideas anyone???

I see what everyone is saying. But too many dingalings post raving comments about AXXO before they have even seen the quality of the upload. AND so many dingalings give ratings of 10. 10?! So that means the rips are PERFECT? Please. If AXXO´s rips are a 10, then what about rips by...say...NEWARTRIOT? His rips are WAY better than AXXO´s. So what does he get? a 15 out of 10? See my point? Too many dingalings (yes...dingalings) don´t post constructive comments on a particular AXXO upload. And I say all this because I HAVE downloaded AXXO flicks before when the quality just wasn´t there. So to all the commenters out there...don´t post unless you REALLY have something constructive to say in a fair and objective way. Get it, dingalings?

Great rip as usual, really enjoyed the film which was alot like They Wait which I watched the night before coincidentally and was also good.
But there are some problems with the hard subtitles, quite a few lines are missing; some I think were important and there are alot of slight typos in it. Someone obviously put some effort into translating it though so thanks for the subs that are there anyway.

I will pass... The Orphanage comes out with English audio on April 22nd.....And for a better rip job...Yeah sure it's okay if you have a slow connect or are new...But one cd dl is not for the scene always 2cd 1.4 gigs not 700mb...Not hating on aXXo so don't even think that, for me a year and a half ago it was fine....

Audio and Video very good. But as per a couple of others the subtitles were pretty poor (typos, spelling mistakes, missed subtitles).
However, it didn't detract from what is a brilliant film.

gigantepoa you can't there hardcoded into the movie file only way to get rid of them would be to crop it which isn't advisible. If you are really needing one without the subs delete this and download one with a separate .srt file and replace them or not with another one.

I usually love aXXo's uploads.. As a matter of fact about 80% of movies I download are uploaded by aXXo.
But, these hard-subs are HORRIBLE. They are probably made by some guy who (like me) barely knows Spanish. So all the easy to understand lines are translated and they haven't even bothered translating the longer more complicated sentences.
I haven't downloaded FXG's version, but I'm guessing that one will be better as you can find better subs (srt files) online and use them instead..

I downloaded this movie before (The.Orphanage.2007.DvDRip.Eng-FxM.avi) and I couldn't read the subs fast enough. I would get half way through and it was gone. I was constantly pausing the movie just to read the subs. I spent so much time trying to read the subs, I wasn't able to watch the movie. I finally gave up after 5-10 minutes.
Is this one any different?

Just curious how people play these files, do you use a media player that crops the sides a bit to make the picture bigger? Because these new crop ratios/resolutions are kinda small imo. Don't mean to complain, after all im getting this for free, but just wondering.

Axxo, you know you're the dude. V10/A10. Hard subs fab, no messing around!! Moderator, you spot on about other sites and the fakes/****. I just don't use 'em anymore, not worth the hassle. For all the moaning, I'm sure everyone appreciates the work you guys put into this. I do.

Yet another great release. Picture quality is excellent. Sound quality excellent. Praise Axxo. Download speed was very quick.
The only disappointment is the english subtitles. Unfortunately they are subpar and may cause you to have to continually pause the film to decipher. They are mostly too fast, words are either smooshed together or broken apart with poor spelling or missing letters. Not to mention certain key elements are not translated at all or the translations are way off which makes it confusing and ultimately funny at times. "Cops! Cops is good!"

10/10 for audio and video. Great quality!

I used to think axxo was the god of DVDrips. During his break, I learnt to appreciate other uploaders such as FXM and FXG. When axxo came back, I immediately started downloading his torrents without reading the comments. I mean, hey, it's axxo, they're all 10/10. This movie proved that even the great axxo can do a bad movie. Axxo, I still luv ya rips, and your still no 1 in my top DVDrip uploaders. Thanx.

this was a great movie but don't bother with this torrent unless you know spanish, the subs were absolutely horrible. first of all there are countless misspellings and errors lik ethis, which shows what a lazy and sloppy job the translator did. also, for some reason the letters "afrai" were randomly added to the middle of sentences (where the word afraid didn't belong)or replaced the beginning half of some words. but the worst part of it is that some lines were not subtitled at all. i think 2 or 3 different times, there were things that people said that were not included in the subs. and i know enough spanish to be able to tell that they were not just insignificant parts, they were parts that definitely should have been translated

why has this comments section turned into a gigantic pointless discussion about issues regarding this site, rather than people discussing the movie??? there are like 130 posts that have nothing to do with this movie, all they are doing is wasting space and making it harder to find the useful comments. people read comments to find out about the quality of the movie. if the only comments in here were the relevant ones, i would have known to d/l a different torrent instead of wasting my time on this one with horrible subs. but i didn't know, cuz im not gonna sit here and sift through 130 pointless comments just to find 1 that is actually helpful in regards to this movie.
take your complaints and your mininova discussions elsewhere, like the mininova forum where that stuff belongs. leave the comments section for comments that are actually relevant to the movie and might actually be helpful to potential downloaders.
