This version 5.0.5 works on V3 phones too... :P
First your Motorola USB Modem driver should be in.. (for some reason fresh installation of ver 5.0.5, don't do the "Motorola USB Modem driver" setup)
Here how I done setup of my V3:
1. Installed the OLD ver4.5, USB cable works good with V3
2. Un-installed the OLD ver4.5
3. Just connected the USB cable to V3, no charging no any reactions.. click on device manger, found uncompleted "Motorola USB Modem" driver and just update the driver, it will pick-up automatically from the location (where we done the OLD ver4.5, some files are still remaining in the system)
4. Once the phone dose charging, it's mean the USB driver on action, time to install our Motorola Phone Tools ver. 5.0.5..
5. This will pickup the V3 automatically! :P

Have a Motorola V6M and works fine with this version. Download was fast and installation a breeze. To those whose phones arent recognized, i had issues with my old krzr and with this v6m where you need to go into the connection settings and set the usb connection to modem/com instead of usb drive and it will then be recognized by the phone tools.Not that will fix all issues but has worked for me. Thanks for the upload!!

when i try to transfer a melody to the phone a message appears saying :

To complete the action you are trying to perform you must install a multimedia component (codec) on your pc

when i click ok it tranfers me to a motorola webpage charging 6.50 for the codecs

can anyone help?

although my fone was also not in the list try to detect it with the bluetooth and not with the cable...
try few times and it will detect the model and build the connection and u will be able to exchange files..
sadly although i was able to setup connection, file transfer wasnt possible.. so i used my onboard integrated bluetooth to detect it and it worked...
the setup with cables becomes tricky sometimes.. dont lose the hope and try with a cool mind :)

Yea wahid7 is correct on how to get your drivers installed but u don't have to uninstall 4.5. Instead the program updated it to 5.05 and phone connected 1st try. :) :)

To anyone having issues with "unsupported device", I suggest visiting http://direct.moto rola.com/hellomoto/uk/support/driversNplugins.asp# (remove space) and downloading their USB driver for your phone. Worked for me.
