NIS 2007 founds one threat in bootcd/wintools/vdefs.exe on this and other torrents (checked about 4 with v9.5). Can somebody verify that?

The trick with infected files like this, is to
1) DL VMware's player or workstation (even a demo)
2) virtualize your OS
3) Move the DL onto a USB stick
4) Scan and run it to get what you need. Delete infected files.
5) Revert the Virtual machine to startup when you shut it down- no harm done and no infection!

I'm checking this one as I've been trying to find ONE Hiren's release that does NOT have a virus or trojan on it for a week now- so far all of them, either in the autorun or like this one...

This one has the working vdefs executable that's good, as well as the normal bat file.

However all it does is DL updates for Mcafee and Fprot
but you're using NIS 2007, so why bother? (you can customize this though if you know what you're doing). Remember it's just for the Virus definitions update from "DOS" at boot- it DL's and writes the definition to your root C:\.
So
Skip it or remove it from the burn/booter and shift-delete the torrent when you're done. No harm done if you don't run the executables!
