Intelligent design is surely the greatest oxymo ron of them all.
Nice spamming session

Couldn't have said it better. oxymo ron yup right up there with "we are not terrorists"

Well... I had to see for myself so I downloaded it.
Written by somebody who loves to use big words, lots of them. It's funny in a sad dysfunctional way.
The uploader has uploaded many books from various religions like he can't make up his mind on which one to follow.

Please find the time (and make the effort) to crawl out of the middle ages before you post torrents. It will make the world a better place.
Especially yours.

everyone should see expelled the movie - google it :-)

I try to respect the opinions of others, (and will read the whole thing out of respect for other ideas), but... This also makes me glad I'm an "evolutionist". Anyone who believes that God seeded the planet with fossils, and other subtle clues, to make us 'think' it's old... needs to get out more. (But hey, whatever turns your handle)
Side reading... Get your hands on some Carl Sagan

Yeah, see "Expelled," if you want to see what a sad joke of a person Ben Stein has become. Or if you want to see a bunch of idiots invent themselves a persecution complex.

Now I haven't downloaded this torrent yet so I'm in no way defending the statements made in it, I'm just countering this ignorant babble written in some of these comments with some undeniable facts.
WelshMackem and bajabiz: both of you contradict what you are stating by using the word oxym-oron to describe something which shows no contradictions (the irony would be hilarious if it was not sad). FYI: ox•y•mo•ron (oksi môr‚on, -m÷r‚-) n., pl. -mo•ra (-môr‚ƒ, -m÷r‚&fnof
a figure of speech that uses seeming contradictions, as "cruel kindness" or "to make haste slowly.

Intelligent design has nothing to do with all that. Actually what is moro-nic is to fool yourself into believing that the intricacy of the universe and of our bodies is random and just the result of dumb luck, what is indeed an oxymo-ron is Darwin claiming that evolution which is undoubtedly a process can accout for the origin of species, the word origin means where something came from not how it came, how it came is the journey or the process.
People whose egos won't allow them to believe that there is creative force responsible for our existence, tell themselves that evolution is the source, when infact evolution does no negate creation and I'll prove it very simply and I challenge any readers to disagree( by providing intelligent thoughts not insults):
11.Posted by moka23 on Apr 01 2008 at 20:08
It is an undisputed scientific fact that matter for example water or human flesh can not be created or destroyed, it can only be changed from one form into another. In other words if you burn a corpse the smoke and ashes are exactly equal to that corpse and so the body is still around but in another physical form, also you cannot make a new element, you can put hydrogen and oxygen together and make water, but you can't create something new, you can't make or "create" something out of parts that do not exist. so it is undeniable and undisputed by any scientific mind that all we can do in this universe we live in is assemble and disassemble matter we can't create it or make it vanish.
12.Posted by moka23 on Apr 01 2008 at 20:08
So if you tell yourself that we evolved from say single cell organisms, than you should not stop there and feel satisfied with the conclusion that evolution is enough to explain things, you should ask the very logical question of: where did the first atom or particle that made up this organism come from, if all our sciences are built on the fact or law that says we can not make particles out of thin air, then you have to be stupid not to believe that there is some force that broke that law, because after all we do exist, and particles do exist, so at some point there was an exception to that rule and so here we are
13.Posted by moka23 on Apr 01 2008 at 20:09
There is no way we can find out for sure how this happened but many believe that the big bang accounts for that force which broke the law, but again we circle back to what was said before about process vs origin, the big bang is clearly a process, so who is responsible for the big bang or rather how was an atom created out of nothing at all, could this be random luck ?, are the complexities of the universe a result of a 1 in 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 billion chance that all this will result in an enviroment that sustains our fragile human lives amidst a dark universe that we can't begin to understand, or is there a force which deisigned all this but is simply hidden from our eyes?

Ugh, I'm sick of you Christians and your condescending know-it-all tones. What you've presented is a random assortment of quasi-scientific sounding ideas which you probably picked up from a pamphlet that reads 'Darwin the Devil!'. Firstly, you gain no points for proving an opponent's stupidity. Evolutionists and Creationists alike have idiots on their side. You talk of Evolutionists being ego-centric when really it is quite the opposite: you are of the opinion that you are actually important in the grand scheme of things - that the human race matters - while as a supporter of evolution I know that I am completely insignificant.
15.Posted by devil_may_care on Apr 01 2008 at 21:35
There are scientific theories concerning the tendency of energy bubbles to appear as if from nowhere, and currently this is the opinion most scientists have as to how the big bang happenned. I will not go into detail because this is a comments thread for a mininova torrent, and I refuse to argue with such a narrow-minded person as yourself. The only reason I commented was because I could tell by the arrogant way you made your argument that you thought you had won it. Perhaps the only way you can feel good about yourself is putting down others with your ignorant, totally uninformed argument (on an entirely unsuitable medium) put together by pieces of information you remember from the college your bourgeoise parents paid for. Good night.
16.Posted by pale_blacksheep on Apr 01 2008 at 22:40
First of all, why the harsh tones here? Is this what the world has become? Devil_may_care, if you know you're right, then why assert your views so offensively?
"Perhaps the only way you can feel good about yourself is putting down others with your ignorant, totally uninformed argument..."
Speak for yourself! Moka23 put his views out as he knows them withOUT trying to bash other views. Maybe YOU should try the same.
"Ugh, I'm sick of you Christians and your condescending know-it-all tones."
Sigh, generalization is so immature. Christians are PEOPLE and PEOPLE are ALL DIFFERENT. Don't forget that YOU'RE taking a know-it-all tone as well. The only difference is that YOU have not presented anything to back YOUR biased argument up.
17.Posted by pale_blacksheep on Apr 01 2008 at 22:53
"I will not go into detail because this is a comments thread for a mininova torrent, and I refuse to argue with such a narrow-minded person as yourself."
Again, speak for yourself. Don't call someone "narrow-minded" just because they chose their side. And honestly, why not go into detail? This has obviously become a debate forum so if you have facts of your own then get them out there! All you are doing is trying to put his "ignorant, totally uninformed argument" down with your own ignorant, totally uninformed argument (that, might I stress, lacks facts).

i agree with pale_blacksheep... and i'll just put in simple terms what i think moka23 was saying.. he was just saying that all those theories are just just a part of the process and is not the origin..... so that still leaves the question of origin unanswered.. and just keep in mind that all of those said theories are still theories after all... which means they are just hypothetical and does not have tangible evidence that would prove it..... and i think mocka23 has explained his opinion clearly.. and i think that if we are open minded enough and kind enough to hear others opinion we will understand what he's talking about..... and i agree with him... we humans are sometimes too full of our ego and won't just simply accept the truth that there is a higher being who is beyond our human minds can comprehend.. and no matter how many theories we come up with.. like what mocka23 was saying we will still find ourselves asking "where did it come from or what is its origin?"..
19.Posted by starpakuss on Apr 01 2008 at 23:13
Devil_may_care .... are you angry with moka23 ? No because it look like you know him personally ... He never mantion that he he was or not a christian ....
And he gave Facts while you gave theory ... mmmm ...
Anyway, ...it's interesting... i like to be challenge and stretch in my thinkink ....
20.Posted by stylisimo01 on Apr 01 2008 at 23:20
and about Christianity... many of us mistaken that it is a religion.. when the truth is it is more than just a religion... and sadly some of the people who call themselves "Christians" miss that truth.. Christianity is a lifestyle.. a lifestyle of following Jesus Christ's teachings... meaning to say a lifestyle of worship to God..... and just to inform you guys if you truly open up your hearts and your minds.. you'll see that everything here on earth supports what God has said in HIS word in the Bible.. even science supports God's word... and we can;t deny the facts written in the Bible cause even most of the Historical facts that we read in our history books were taken from the Bible.. even History was divided into two major periods based on the things written on the Bible... B.C. and A.D.
well i was kind of of topic... but just wanted to share somethings here..
i would like to share more in details but this is a comments area..
21.Posted by stylisimo01 on Apr 01 2008 at 23:22
Just an additional info... Christianity is not about religion but about relationship... with God and God's people..
22.Posted by pale_blacksheep on Apr 01 2008 at 23:25
Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to bash your views either, devil. I'm just trying to clear up the bullshlt that pollutes the minds of all the know-it-all's that think they're right and everyone else is wrong. Just do the world a favor and SHUT THE FRICK UP. ALL OF YOU. NONE OF THIS MATTERS. Will you die if somebody thinks differently? Perhaps not, but PEOPLE DIE EVERY DAY BECAUSE OTHER PEOPLE CAN'T HANDLE A VIEW OTHER THAN THEIR OWN. How do you think wars are started? ARGUMENTS AND DISAGREEMENTS.
HOW DARE ANYONE TURN SOMETHING SO PETTY INTO SOMETHING SO HUGE. I GUARANTEE THAT IF THIS CONTINUES, THERE WILL BE MORE WARS TO COME. PEOPLE WILL CONTINUE TO SUFFER AND DIE FOR BEING DIFFERENT AND THERE WILL BE NO PEACE FOR ANY LIVING SOUL.
23.Posted by devil_may_care on Apr 02 2008 at 02:05
ah... darn and blast. i just wrote out a long message but i wasn't logged in and it deleted it. The gist of it was, oops, it seems i did sound a bit condescending myself, that wasnt my intention, in my opinion we should all listen to each others opinions but in a civilised way so as to avoid petty name-calling. and i said something about propoganda. it was all very high-brow stuff i assure you
But basically, pale blacksheep, until we can convince everyone in the world to tolerate everyone else, there will continue to be wars, not just over religion but over everything. So is mankind. All we can do to make a difference is just keep on supporting the right of an individual to his own opinion while making sure he does the same.
24.Posted by devil_may_care on Apr 02 2008 at 02:09
just read stylismo's post, can you give examples of the bible supporting science/history books? I'm genuinely interested. I'm also serious about this being a completely innappropriate place to discuss this, someone make a topic in the forum.
25.Posted by moka23 on Apr 02 2008 at 06:23
devil_may_care: whenever I try to make a point and someone counters with no point at all, just insults and assumptions about my personality, it validates my point, especially when my point is that sometimes people are stuck on their biases and when you try to convince them with reason they answer back by lashing out. So really... thank you, you gave us all an example of how some people are set on evolution as the answer to their questions, while they do not even understand evolution or look at it long enough to see that it in no way accounts for the answer to our "where do we come from question"
26.Posted by moka23 on Apr 02 2008 at 06:29
I actually believe evolution exists in many forms in our universe, but to tell yourself we are here because of evolution just means you either don't understand it or probably you just wanna tell yourself that it is the source to end this innate question in all of us.(where do we come from?)
And guy sorry if we're not supposed to disscuss stuff in detail like this, but I've seen many discussions in comment areas around here, and I figured if the mods do not like it they would say something.
27.Posted by moka23 on Apr 02 2008 at 09:52
In that las part I meant to say guys (plural), just didn't want devil_may_care to think I'm appologizing to him when it was for the general reader.
28.Posted by devil_may_care on Apr 02 2008 at 22:24
Well now you're being unfair, I think it was quite clear I was having a bad day in post 1 and redeemed myself in post 2. I am extremely interested in having a clean discussion about this but not really if your attitude is going to be like that. Forgive me for choosing the easy route for channeling my frustrations. I'm not going to back down on my arguments though, for as long as I am convinced of their reliability i will continue to passionately express them.

"that still leaves the question of origin unanswered.. and just keep in mind that all of those said theories are still theories after all... which means they are just hypothetical and does not have tangible evidence that would prove it"
It's a two way street. There isn't tangible evidence for creationism, either.

it was obvious from the start that this more Islamic propaganda.
PEOPLE WAKE UP!
THIS LOT ARE TAKING OVER AND MOVING IN AND WE ARE ALLOWING IT!!!!!!
Years ago I would not have had any dealings with the like of the far right BUT a lack of strong leadership by our so called Political leaders is creating racism!!
please do not allow this cancer of political correctness to destroy long over due political debate and action.
Otherwise wee will end up living in a country where they teach us the world is still flat and that it is ok to stone people just for daring to disagree with their version of religion.
this is no laughing matter.
38.Posted by bittorrenter on Apr 18 2008 at 22:49
Arguements creationists commonly used:
Darwins' deathbed confession,
Einstein believed in God,
It takes more faith to believe in science than religion
Stephen Hawkins believes in God (an audacious attempt because Hawkins is still alive)
Ultimate 747 arguement
Irreducible complexity
Evolution is just a theory
It's nice to see creationists' territory keeps shrinking in spite of the lies they made up in the past century. Rational people should just ignore them. Every time scientists or scholars redicule them they will immediately make a big headline in their newsletter and say "behold, scientists are finally convinced we should be taken seriously!"

I was raised Catholic but don't agree with the catholic church. In the words of homer simpson. Why should i go to mass to be told all the reasons why i'm going to hell.
It is often used as evidence to "Intelligent Design" to say why is the earth so perfectly suited to life and why do we find the colors green and blue so soothing.
40.Posted by finnjim2001 on Jun 19 2008 at 09:09
Duh. We evolved to make use of the conditions on this rock not the rock made to suit us. If a comet struck tomorrow and in the words of every disaster movie "Life as WE know it would end" yea and thanks to that comet 65million years ago we (Meaning Mammals) got a chance. If we went then maybe Rats or Ant would become the dominant species on the planet.
It's thoughts (Rants?) like this that puts it all into perspective for me. So live your life like its your last (Unless you are a member of the Hindu faith then my your next life be better than this (No sacarisim intended))

I'd like to leave you with this thought. Which way would would you rather enter Heaven.
1. in a wheelchair hooked up to tubes saying about time
2. Backwards doing 150 miles an hour in a ball of flame that used to be a sports car screaming woo hoo where are the women

Finnjim, .. just a random comment, ignoring our own egotistic view of our own importance and going by numbers, area covered, and security of survival alone it could be very reasonably argued that Rats and Ants are all ready the dominant species on the earth.

you people don't even have an idea about what THEORY means, what a theory is...
You and your species believe, we don't. We accept the theory for now but your little brain doesnt have the capacity to understand. Intelligent design my ass.
