This needs seeders, no one is seeding it.

2.Posted by pcwiz on Apr 02 2008 at 01:51

Never mind, lots of seeds and good DL speeds :) Thanks to the seeders.

3.Posted by pcwiz on Apr 02 2008 at 22:33

I know that the average completion is stuck at 59% or so. I have everything and I'll be seeding all of it in 2 or 3 hours :)

4.Posted by pcwiz on Apr 03 2008 at 01:27

Seeding all of it at 60KBps. I don't know how long, but at least a day probably.

5.Posted by bhagiratha on Apr 04 2008 at 04:04

during the extraction process I get this message from Stuffit Expander that this particular file is missing:

file name mac os x leopard_part001.r00

Anyone know where I can locate this file? thanks

pcwiz - I am trying to complete my download of your vmware image of 10.5.2 Mac OS x. I am basically trying to evaluate 10.5.2 on vmware so i can use my own 10.5.2 purchased cd key and iphone sdk 2.0. I am trying to be one of the (few) XP iphone developers. First question, i am only running on a T4700 chipset and do not have 64 bit capability... is this download a waste of my time, and if not will I be able to run this VMWare on a 32 bit architecture...? Thanks in advance for your hard work in getting some of the windows guys working in 10.5.2.

7.Posted by pcwiz on Apr 05 2008 at 04:38

Try extracting it with a different tool. Try WinRAR on Windows.

hadrianbell,

I don't think 10.5 has a CD key. It can run fine on 32 bit :) Its slow though, no matter what your hardware is...

Hi bhagiratha,

I have just been informed by pcwiz that there seems to be a problem with unraring the image file.

I would first like to say that there is nothing worng with the files
Second, there is no such file as .r00 in the torrent as all files have the extension .rar.

I hope this helps your problem.

Thanks pcwiz ... I used winrar on a windows machine and it worked fine.

Also, do I use this image on a windows computer running vmware or can I use it on my macbook pro running vmware fusion? thanks

10.Posted by pcwiz on Apr 05 2008 at 18:55

You can use it on both! :D

11.Posted by bhagiratha on Apr 06 2008 at 00:32

I tried on my mac and it did not work. It starts up, I see the gray background and the Apple logo, but then after a few minutes this "stop" sign icon appears on the apple logo.

On the windows side, since the vmware image files are 64-bit, it does not load up on my Thinkpad X32.

Any other options I can try?

12.Posted by bhagiratha on Apr 06 2008 at 17:37

Ok .correction. I got mac os x working on vmware fusion on the mac. I just needed to give it more time to load up.

On my thinkpad, each time I open the leopard.vmdk file with VMware workstation ACE edition I get this error:

Could not open virtual machine: C:\Mac OS X Leopard\leopard.vmdk.
File "C:\Mac OS X Leopard\leopard.vmdk" line 1: Syntax error.

Any idea what's causing this syntax error?

13.Posted by pcwiz on Apr 06 2008 at 23:11

You are supposed to open the FreeBSD-64bit.vmx file, not the leopard.vmdk file.

14.Posted by Andreotti on Apr 13 2008 at 02:02

Well, it works. But it is very very slow and no internet connection is made. But afterall a pretty good job!

15.Posted by neo_aeon on Apr 18 2008 at 19:50

is this the vmware image to run leopard version of mac on windows ???? :?

16.Posted by neo_aeon on Apr 18 2008 at 19:50

17.Posted by pcwiz on Apr 19 2008 at 02:33

Andreotti there are guides to get Ethernet working on this VM ;) neo_aeon, yes this is to run OS X Leopard mac on VMware on Windows (as a virtual machine). It can also be used on VMware for Linux and VMware Fusion for mac itself.

18.Posted by yanivc24 on Apr 19 2008 at 23:10

Thanks pcwiz for this image. it works for me on VMware 6.0.3 dell precision 4300.

However, it is very slow and works only with 1024x768 resolution, I found you other article about how to change the resolution but nothing worked. anyway I have another problem. it seems that although pcwiz user is an administrator, there is a problem doing some actions ( like changing the preferences files) or running the installation of the VMtools on the imgae - I get that execution was aborted and that I need to run the script with root priviliges?!?!?

Any advice?

Thanks

PC Wiz,

I installed this on a Dell Dimension which has an Intel Pro 1000 PL card. I've tried Bridged and NAT mode, but no luck to get internet working. Everything else is fine though...

Is it possible to get it working or do you just do without?

Thanks!

I installed and can run this 64 bit image. What I really need is the 10.5.4 or later version.

I have tried many different tutorials on updating it and they all fail at some point.

I purchased a 10.5.4 update DVD so I am not trying to get something for free. If there is anyone who knows of a working VMWare image of 10.5.4 or later please let me know. I need one very badly.

As are many other people I am trying to do iPhone dev without having to buy another computer (Mac). Is there anyone that can help?

44.Posted by T3ster on Oct 28 2008 at 10:20

Guys, this works Perfect!!! i cant belive it after unslept nigths trying to figur eit out how to install it i got it up and running! you really need VMware Worksation 6 or higher.

Thank you PCWIZ!!!

once you have it downloaded you need to get WinRar. i tryed with 2 other different archivers that i have and it did not work (winACE and Total commander)

unpackit with winrar, install vmware workstation, open an existing VM from the vmware, add a network card, install the Network adapter from here http://video.paulooi.com/Maxxuss-AMDPCNET-v1.0_1043.zip (previosly mentioned) and enjoi.

i would love as well to have an updater to the 10.5.5 but if it isnt im good with what i got :) . if i get mine up and running i wil post a torrent with the updated one.

Enjoy.

45.Posted by padspcb on Oct 29 2008 at 12:57

Thank you ~pcwiz!!!!
I was really trying to install this stuff for months!
As for the network adapter, on vmware setup i just set the adapter no nat and connect at power on, no driver was needed.
Running marvelously on vista x64.

46.Posted by nnhood on Nov 02 2008 at 16:38

T3str,

I have the image running fine, but how do you add the network adapter? When I try to add one in VMWARE is just lets me pick NAT or BRIDGED, but doesnt actually let me add from those drivers.

Do I load the network in the VMWARE software or actually in the Leopard OS while it's running?

What version of VMWARE are you running? I have both the ACE edition 6.2 and regular workstation 6.5 IS one better than the other?

Thanks! It's working, I just wish I could use Safari and the internet.

M.

For 32-Bit Computers:

Change "FreeBSD 64-Bit" To "Other" in VMWare.
I have Tried it, and it works. :P

Internet:
Try These:

Anyone got usb to work. When I run this VM under VMserver 2, server sees my usb devices and allows me to connect to them just before start, but the running machine cannot connect. I want to use the VM to do formatting of usb connected disks.

BTW, I am running the VM on an eeepc 1000H/XPsp3 home. I just set the OS for 32bit FreeBSD in VMserver. Have not tried a VMplayer, but the old VMserver says the VM is too new to run. Have noticed that turning off the SCSI device makes boot lock up as did initially changing the VM's ram setting. I also updated a copy of the image to the version 7 and it boots, maybe just a bit faster.

Want to try making a Virtualbox image out of this image to see if I can get USB. However, have not been able to get the Vbox command line convert tool to run, yet; maybe need an older Vbox version.

#25, Vaza, I got the same thing under VMWare Workstation 6.5. Easy fix, create a new VM. Select other, then FreeBSD 32-bit (or 64-bit), then 6.0 for the version, and take the defaults. When it comes to create the disk, select Use an existing disk, and browse to the Leopard.vmdk file. Finish the wizard, and it will start right up.

BUT, I can't get the mouse to work....any ideas?

51.Posted by nowandever29 on Dec 12 2008 at 06:31

PCWiz, thanks, man! I found my problem. I was getting the same errors as the others mentioned here, but after digging through the logs, I found that it was a failure to lock ring 0 on the processor. I also have MS Virtual PC 2007 installed, and it was conflicting with VMWare. I hust down VPC, and loaded your image as directed, and it works like a charm! Just got to fix the network yourself, but that's easy enough.

Thanks!!! :D :) :D :) :D :)

Hello.
I don't know if anyone is still checking these posts....
but I'm a bit lost.

I'm running Ubuntu 8.10 64 bit on my XPS M1330.
I have installed VMWARE Server and am running XP and Vista in VM's now.
I am trying to get this going too.
I downloaded the torrent, unrar'ed it and copied the folder to my VMware lib folder. I can see the folder in my VMWare web interface.
I cannot figure out how to install from the file.
I created a leopard VM, but when I run it it just says no operating system found. If I add a network adapter it just spins and cannot find an installation. If I add another hard drive pointing to the folder, I cannot figure out how to make it install from there.
Can someone walk me through this a bit?
Thanks.

You might have to install OS X 10.4.8 first.

Working on my Lenovo R61 :) . I only had to enable VT in bios, boot portable kubuntu 64bit, install VMware Player and then open existing VM and that's it. I expected it to be very slow, but it's actually not so bad. 10x

It does work on 32 bit XP but the PAE is set to "on" and our machines don't support that.
