This is not for a Mac. Where does it say for Mac?
Are you clueless?

Program is asking for a PRODUCT KEY?
4.Posted by Damon1974 (torrent uploader) on Apr 06 2008 at 03:49
The instructions clearly tell you to download the Garmin KeyGenerator???
So yo have to do that to create a key, and then install that key. The instructions are crystal clear. Even with the process to get the Generator.
There is no key required to install. You didn't read the instructions.txt. You can't simply run the autorun. READ.

I see you posted a thanks "niagarabeech", so you must have found the instructions and got it working. Congrats.

I tried to install it because my notebook computer that downloaded it has no DVD burner & of course no ISO program.
I said thanks for the upload though...

You just need to get a prior version installed as this is a product UPDATE CD and not the Full Version. The ISO tool program is easy to get, google: daemon tools.
Then you can mount the image. You just have to have a previous version of MapSource installed. Look on the torrent network, they are out there.

Well, found that the key only generates keys for the 2008 Version. This version is called 2009, so was unable to unlock it.
9.Posted by shrifty on Apr 09 2008 at 04:35
In your instructions it states:
"03 - Double Click the file N 0 0 b."
I was unable to find the file called N 0 0 b and was unable to proceed.
Seriously, even though I did not hear of Mapsource before and did not know that maps had to be unlocked, I found the instructions to be very easy to follow and had no issues in updating the maps at all. Thanks for the 09 update!
(For some reason this post was blocked due to swearing, no idea what word/phrase may have triggered that one).

Parsec
The instructions clearly state to use the Custom Map feature and enter 325.

Question: I'm getting a 128 MB card, is that big enough? and is this the only program i need for my 296? thanks for the help
14.Posted by RodThaBod on Apr 12 2008 at 13:15
128 mb card is not even close. I will tell you what I did and it worked. I went in and took the 2008 maps off my Garmin hard drive and replaced them with the 2009 maps. No need to even get another SD card. Works like I charm.

RodThaBod,
I've got a StreetPilot c330 and am trying to update the internal maps, but the 'Receive From Device' function in MapSource errors out on me "The required memory for storing maps is missing". Which is odd since I'm trying to receive from the GPS. I've searched Google up and down and can't find a set of instructions on how to replace the maps ON my GPS, short of buying an SD card and loading them on that. Any help is greatly appreciated.
16.Posted by shrifty on Apr 13 2008 at 02:18
Hi RodThaBod, I loaded my maps onto SD cards (one for US, other for Canada). I would like to place the maps onto my Garmin C340 itself, how did you remove the 2008 maps? I was unable to figure it out, if you could kindly post some instructions on how to do this I'd greatly appreciate it.
17.Posted by RodThaBod on Apr 13 2008 at 06:15
I have the Garmin Nuvi 650. It came with 2008 North American maps preloaded on it. I took the file " gmapprom " and cut it and pasted it to my hard drive as back up just incase I made a mistake. The file is about 1.2 gb in size. After that , I pluged in my Garmin and high lighted all of North America and sent it to my Garmin. Now I have 2009 maps and they work like a charm. Much thanx to Damon1974.
18.Posted by gentarg on Apr 13 2008 at 07:11
RodThaBod,
Maybe I'm missing something. I don't see a way within MapSource to remove the img file from the Garmin Unit Memory, nor does a hard disk show up in 'my computer'. Other sites make it sound like I should be able to either load maps to the unit or somehow reflash the unit with the new maps. So far I'm not getting anywhere
19.Posted by RodThaBod on Apr 13 2008 at 16:06
Plug in your Garmin and let Windows find it as another drive. Open the drive up. Go into the Garmin folder and that is where I cut the file to my computer hard drive. Now I have space on my Garmin to load 2009 maps. Taking the 2008 maps off the Garmin has nothing to do with Map Source. You have to take the maps off the drive before you open map source. Now you open map source and then you can load the 2009 maps to your Garmin. It takes about 30 minutes to do this. All I can say is , it worked on my Garmin Nuvi 650. Not even sure if it works on anything else but it worked for me. Good luck.

Alright I've been over this and over this a million times and I'm getting no where. When I try to run the setup file I get stuck at the "Enter Product Key" screen (it wants a 9 digit number). As far as I can tell all the keygen utilities make you an unlock number for the specific maps. But I see no indication of when to put that code in. I can find my Unit ID using my garmin supplied basic mapsource program, but there is to "Utilities -> Unlock Maps" option at all. Thus I have no idea how to proceed. This certainly isn't my first cracked program here but this is rackin my brain. The instructions seem easy enough to follow, if they seemed to pertain to what I'm actually looking at.

I am having trouble that others have had. I think it may have to do with the fact I have a streetpilot 2720(older model) When I plug into usb port there I cannot see device in 'my computer', device manager finds it as another type of device but I get inside the garmin via window explore. I am going to try my linux laptop here in a bit. Any workarounds?
22.Posted by isock86 on Apr 14 2008 at 08:52
The newer garmins get loaded into windows as removable harddrives. if your garmin doesnt load us as one, you are in the same boat as far as I know that lots of people are in. I have heard of people putting the maps on an SD card that they put into the garmin to get around this.
23.Posted by pwang100 on Apr 14 2008 at 19:58
I am also having problems getting this installed. It is asking for a product key. When I use the key-gen,and enter 325 for the map code, it generates a 25 digit code.. But the install program is asking for a 9 digit key.
After that, I tried rodthebod's method, I cut the gmapprom from the garmin and pasted it on my HD. But I got lost at the "high lighted all of North America and sent it to my Garmin." step.. Can anyone explain this step?
Thanks
24.Posted by pwang100 on Apr 15 2008 at 23:04
OK I finally got it figured out. I didnt need the 9-digit product key. I also didnt need the key-gen, and didnt need the 325 map code. I got to the "high lighted all of North America and sent it to my Garmin." That was after I installed the Garmin software on my computer. I map of the USA pops up and all I had to do was highlight on the areas I wanted, and sent it to the gps unit. Thanks damon1974!
26.Posted by RodThaBod on Apr 16 2008 at 01:29
Like Damon1974 said , you don't need a product key. I have it on my computer and it works perfectly!!!!!! Email me if you need help on a one on one baises. rodthabod@hotmail.com

Will this entire map set fit on my Nuvi 200 without an additional SD card? or will i have to buy an extra SD card to make it fit?
thanks
28.Posted by davioses on Apr 16 2008 at 07:02
Worked perfectly for both my Nuvi and my C330.
For anyone with a C330 you will need to have a SD card in the unit of at
least 1GB to install update. This is because the C330 isn't discovered in
Windows as a removable drive unlike the Nuvi.
Thanks again Damon1974!

29.Posted by pwang100 on Apr 16 2008 at 18:28
My Garmin is the Nuvi 660. No SD card needed, once I connected the GPS to the computer via USB, 'My Computer' saw it as an additional drive.
30.Posted by pookguy88 on Apr 16 2008 at 18:54
what do you after you connect the Nuvi? Do you just copy the file over or do you need some sort of software to do it?
31.Posted by pwang100 on Apr 16 2008 at 20:52
Pookguy, assuming you have already installed the garmin program on you computer HD, then after you have connected the Nuvi, first cut the "gmapprom.img" file from your Nuvi. (should be about a 1 Gig file)I pasted this on my computer, just in case. Then, on your desktop, double-click on MapInstall
Select all the states and provinces that you want to install. This takes a while to install the maps onto your Garmin unit, took me about 1 hr.
32.Posted by pookguy88 on Apr 17 2008 at 03:35
Thanks Pwang, I've just figured out that this only the update version so I'm downloading the 2008 version right now first so that I can upgrade it to this 2009 one.
I thought that you could just upload the maps to the Nuvi from the City Navigator app itself? or is this wrong?
33.Posted by iomega311 on Apr 17 2008 at 05:08
I have a Nuvi 660 with "Garmin MapSource North America NT v8" currently installed on it. Will this update work to update this map?
34.Posted by urrterrible on Apr 17 2008 at 18:18
For those with Streetpilot 2720...
After some digging I found there is no way to navigate through the memory of this device, b/c it won't go into host mode. So Garmin told me I need to run the disc's updating software to update this device.
Question...So I need to run the autorun, which I haven't done yet but I would assume I need a product key for this????? If that is correct can someone lend a helping hand
thanks....
35.Posted by RodThaBod on Apr 18 2008 at 01:38
You do not need the 2008 version installed. This version will install and run just perfectly. Repeat , this version will install and run. You people are making this way too hard.............

I did as RodThaBod suggested, and removed the file "gmapprom" from my Nuvi 660 (saved it to my hard drive)... I then ran the program for the 2009 update. It asked for codes, and so i used the "Garmin unlock utility" to provide codes to unlock the map. After ulocking the map, I then selected all of the states/provinces i wanted installed on my gps. This took about an hour to copy over to my gps. I then removed the unit from my computer, and started it up. I was greeted with a message that said, "cannot unlock maps". And there we have it... my gps has no maps anymore.
What do i do?
38.Posted by RodThaBod on Apr 19 2008 at 02:03
First thing I would try is to plug Garmin back in and open it up and go into the Garmin folder and see if it is there. It may have put the file in the wrong folder. Got to make sure it is in the Garmin folder or it will NOT WORK! Another thing you might want to try is this , get a little flash drive ( about 2gb ) to plug into the USB port. Send the 2009 maps to the flash drive ( this takes about 30 minutes ) and now you have the updated maps on a flash drive and plug the Garmin in and the flash drive in and now you copy and paste from the flash drive to the Garmin folder. Another thing to check is cut Garmin on and go to settings and then maps and make sure the 2009 maps have a check mark in the box , if not , the Garmin will say no maps avalible.
39.Posted by maloney888 on Apr 19 2008 at 14:05
iomega311: "cannot unlock maps" means map is installed in the GPS but map is still locked. I believe you have type a wrong GPS unit I.D. on the keygen (Jetmouse's Garmin unlock utility) so the ulock code generated doesn't match the GPS unit. Try it again, get your GPS unit i.d. carefully then type it on the keygen...on the select map product, choose custom mapset then type 325 (map id code used for North America update 2009) then click the generate button below then you will get the 25 digit unlock code. Open mapsource go to utilities, unlock maps, copy and paste the 25 digit unlock code. Then you you should have an unlocked North america 2009 map installed in your computer. now highlight the North America 2009 then install it in your GPS then wait for less than 1 hour. let me know if it works! goodluck! shoot me an email if it works! maloney88888@yahoo.com

Don't work on my Nuvi 360. Able to unlocked map in Mapsource, I can see the detailed map including the new streets. I cut and paste "gmapprom" to my hardrive. Hightlighted everything and device transferred to the unit without problem. When it was finished about an hour, it still shows unable to unlocked map? Sudenly no map on my GPS. Resort back to my old "gmapprom" v2008. Then relief "whoa" my unit works again with the old v2008. I tried the other approach, just select my state and device transfer just to the SD card, Same thing, unable to unlock the map on the SD card. Luckilly, I still have my old "gmapprom" v 2008. Be careful, do not delete the "gmapprom". Back it up just in case. Any solution to this???

42.Posted by RodThaBod on Apr 20 2008 at 15:14
roger009 , I just read your post and I am wondering when you plug Garmin into your pc , does it pop up as another drive? If so , can you go into the Garmin folder and locate the file 2009 maps? I know I have the Nuvi 650 and mine worked like a charm. I have also done this for two other guys at work and it has worked on the Garmin 200 and my friends Nuvi 650 also.
43.Posted by roger009 on Apr 20 2008 at 16:55
I finally solved it!! On the keygen on the top box it ask for your nuvi unit number- put the TEN digit number of your
nuvi, You can find the ten digit number in the map source when your computer is connected to the nuvi. I mistakenly used "325" before, it didn't work. Every unit has a different 10 digit number. Then at the bottom
box scroll down to the bottom and use the custom mapid:325. Generate the 25 digit code and use that code to unlock your
map into the mapsource. Do a sample test first, highlight one state and transfer it to the SD card and make sure the map is unlocked.
If you can read the map, it is working!. Then backup your "gmapprom" to your hardrive, just in case.
Finally, highlight the entire map this time and transfer it to your garmin, takes about an hour. It will create the file "gmasupp" under Garmin directory. There you go, you'll have the v2009!!

OOOOk.. I've Downloaded the program. Downloaded the Key generators. I have a version of Mapsource on my PC. and a nuvi350. In no way can I get the City Navigator update into MapSource, or my nuvi350.... I have read all the comments and they havn't helped me at all.
On my GPS I have located the gmapprom.img file. And can move it to my desk top. I have ran my old version of mapsource and I understand the use of the unlock keys while using the key generator. But the new maps do not come across to the program.
I have no understanding of where this N o o B file is, or was this some big Joke!?
Seriously, How do I import the new maps to Mapsource and then to my GPS, or is it the other way around? Maps to GPS then to Mapsource?
Can you just post a step buy step in English so the rest of us can get some sleep please?
I also fail to see on the update a new gmapprom file. There are several folders by that name instead. But they do not contain any .img files....

i will help since i did athis today and i was confused like you.
1. got to the windows file that you downloaded in this torrent and install the file in MSI that is called cannat2009update_enu.
2. once that was done open the file you downloaded it is called mapinstall it should be on your desktop.
3. once you open it will go thorugh steps and it will tell you to get unlock code. go to the kegen file in the garmin utlity and open it and type in your unit i.d in the top box and the bottom box scroll down and use custom mapset and tyoe in 325 and press the bottom generate button. once it generates copy the code and put that code as the unlock code. once that is done go to the next one and now you highlight all the states you want and then sent it to your gps. it should then work.
hope this help.
email me at aznmario95@gmail.com for mroe help
51.Posted by RodThaBod on Apr 21 2008 at 05:14
Go into mapsource and click on the utilties tap ( with the Garmin plugged in ) and get the Unit ID. It will be a 10 digit number. Write it down! Then open the Keygen 1.3 and put the 10 digit number in and hit generate and then go down to the pull down tab and hit custom mapset and put in 325 and hit generate and that is your unlock code , write it down! Go into mapsource and hit the utilities tap and hit unlock maps and follow the directions and the 25 digit code you wrote down is the unlock code.
52.Posted by RodThaBod on Apr 21 2008 at 05:14
Go to the map tool tab in map source and high lite in yellow what maps you want to send to your Garmin. To my knowlege , it will only send to a portable device so I don't think you can send to your Garmin. Send it to a flash drive ( 2gb is what I have ) and this will take about 30 minutes. Then , go into your Garmin and take the file gmapprom and cut and paste it to your hard drive as back up. Don't delte it!!!!!! Now , after the 2009 maps have finished going to the flash drive , you can now copy and paste them to your Garmin under the Garmin folder. Pretty much putting them in the same place you took the 2008 maps off. The new file should be gmapsupp.

So I can't get any further. Could this be a "Vista" thing?

GunHo198 , I used the version that is compressed and not this one. I am gonna take a shot in the dark here and ask you to go into program files and go into your Garmin folder and see what the size of the folder is , if it is over 1 gb then the maps are there , if the folder is around 60 mb to 80 mb then the maps are not there. Maybe you didn't unpack them from the originale file? Maybe they are in a winrar folder and the installer didn't reconize it?
60.Posted by GunHo198 on Apr 21 2008 at 06:27
It doesn't seem to be there. I think I'm having problems with the installer.
The file is only 42 megs.
61.Posted by RodThaBod on Apr 21 2008 at 06:52
GunHo198 , you made the same mistake I did to start with. I am sure there are some files that are still in winrar folders that you didn't unpack. When you run the installer , the installer doesn't know where they are so they won't be installed. This is what I would do if I were you. I would go in and make one folder and extract every file into that one folder and then try the installer. Should work. Since I downloaded the compressed torrent , I am not too sure what this torrent has in it. Some of the files may be compressed and just need to be unpacked cause that Garmin folder under program files should be at least 1.2 gb in size.
62.Posted by GunHo198 on Apr 21 2008 at 06:53

Found the "Vista" problem as well. I had to go into the "User Account Control" and switch it to off. Reboot. Install program. Switch it back on and reboot again. That eliminated the Windows install error that kept coming up saying "The administrator has set permissions to prevent this installation."

Just wanted to say that I finally got this loaded on my 60csx. Big thanks to aznmario95, his instructions were crystal clear an it loaded as expected. Feel kinda stupid that I couldn't figure that out from the supplied instructions. For anyone else, I did have to reinstall mapsource (even though I had the latest version) after installing these maps because it would give me a "can not open unlock utility wizard" error. Once I re-installed mapsource from garmin, it worked like a charm. Thanks again everyone. Awesome.

I have just brought a garmin 760 - yet to receive it.. is this for all garmins?
79.Posted by AxlxA on May 04 2008 at 18:21
Worked great on my Nuvi 350. Steps I took:
Materials:
Garmin Nuvi 350
1gb SD card(should've used 2gb but I dont have one on hand).
Precaution: Back up the gmapprom file shoudl shoudl be about 1gb JUST IN CASE YOU MESS UP.
Installing the software.
1) Mount ISO with daemon tools or poweriso.
2) Navigate to folder driveletter:\Windows\Msi\
3) Run CNNANT2009Update_ENU.msi if you want english language.
4) Select a directory to install, takes 10 mins or so.
5) Mapinstall icon should be on your desktop now. Run it.
Get Unit ID from Nuvi
6) Turn on unit, tape agree to pass agreement
7) Tap: Settings --> Systems --> About See Unit ID: Write it down.
80.Posted by AxlxA on May 04 2008 at 18:22
Keygen
8) Run the Keygen, this is where I messed up a few times.
9) Put in the unit id in the top box(there's going to be 4 boxes but only need to pay attention to the top and the most bottom)
10) Select from the drop down list on the 3rd box for custom map id --> Enter 325
11) Click Generate at the bottom of the program
12) Copy the Unlock Key generated in the 4th box!! (I kept generating from the top button and copying the 2nd box... and that's why whenever I stick in teh SD card, the GPS turns off.... silly me)
81.Posted by AxlxA on May 04 2008 at 18:22
MapInstall
13) When Mapinstall tells you that the following maps are locked, you add in an unlock key
14) Enter unlock key you copied from the keygen
15) Add the key and you'd be prompt after 30 seconds of scanning for where you want to install the maps.
16) For an SD card, choose the drive. For the Nuvi, choose the Nuvi drive letter.
17) You should see a screen with the map of North America. For 1gb drive, I coudln't put in US + hawaii + alaska + Canda. It was too big for 1gb card. I had to unselect all of canada and those states mentioned.
18) Select states by dragging a box around all the states. Use Ctrl key and left click to help unselect/select.
19) Finish and It'll take 10 mins or more to send to the device.
Garmin:
20) Stick the SD card into garmin, make sure GPS works with the sd card.
21) checked for a recent restaraunt that wasn't on the v8 that I had previously. Yep it's there now!!!!
Thanks guys, Love the new maps.

Damon1974...Many thanks for version 9. Much appreciated!
I know that this might be a dumb question but did you guys register the V9 keygen unlock code with Garmin so that any updates in the future can be downloaded? If not and there is an alternative to registering, please advise. Thanks again!

Damon 1974: I did all the steps that you have mentioned earlier. Every thing now work fine and now I can select maps and download them onto my SD Card. I would like to know that how can I delete old version of Maps installed in my GPS C330 and update with this new one.
Also I would like to know that will I be in position to get all updates from Garmin Web Site for the POI etc as I could do that under old version.
Thanks !!Rikhi

I have a question if you updated will the garmin website update that you have the new maps or what?

Rikhi007...you answer to get rid of the old version of the Maps installed is on post #43. Make sure you back up your old version just in case the new version fails on you.
Guys, c'mon, is there a way to register for updates with Garmin online for the cracked v9 update provided by Damon1974?
Any insight into this is most helpful. Thanks!

I have a Garmin C340 and I must be a **** to this cuz I have no clue what to do when it tells me "Navigate the DVD to: DVD:\Windows\CNNANT2009Update_ENU.msi"... Is there anyone here that can help me through this process please? Thank you.

You guys need to be downloading the compressed version of this torrent, it's the exact same thing the uploader just used a more efficent way of compacting the files. It will save you alot of time, you'll only need to download 2.16 GB instead of 3.78 GB which is the size of this one.
http://www.mininova.org/tor/1308109 (The compressed one)
I also posted directions in the compressed one (link above), so if you have trouble follow them.
One thing I didn't understand and maybe one of you can answer, why are you required to delete your old maps off your GPS device before installing these new ones? Can't Garmin just update your old maps instead of having to completely replace them? I realize you can buy a SD card and store them on that, but shouldn't the map source software automatically update your maps without you having to manually delete them if you don't want to buy a SD card? It seems crazy.......

Has anyone tried updating a Street Pilot I5???
For some reason, mine refuses to update!
90.Posted by aznmario95 on May 21 2008 at 06:35
i will help since i did athis today and i was confused like you.
1. got to the windows file that you downloaded in this torrent and install the file in MSI that is called cannat2009update_enu.
2. once that was done open the file you downloaded it is called mapinstall it should be on your desktop.
3. once you open it will go thorugh steps and it will tell you to get unlock code. go to the kegen file in the garmin utlity and open it and type in your unit i.d in the top box and the bottom box scroll down and use custom mapset and tyoe in 325 and press the bottom generate button. once it generates copy the code and put that code as the unlock code. once that is done go to the next one and now you highlight all the states you want and then sent it to your gps. it should then work.
hope this help.

I had some difficulty reading the instructions, so I laid it out on Word and broke the instructions into 2 line sentences double spaced. It worked right the first time, but then I couldn't figure out how to transfer maps to the gps unit, so I e-mailed RodThaBod and found out you have to highlight the areas you want to transfer. THANK YOU. Works perfectly.

Correction from my previous post, I emailed aznmario95 and not RodThaBod for help. Thanks again and many thanks to Damon1974.

Hi, and thanks to Damon1974 for all the hard work.
I read instructions and above comments carefully. I didn't see an answer to Shrifty's question about instruction line #03, "Double Click the file" and it names a file (that I gather you're not allowed to write here, spelled November, Oscar, Oscar, Bravo). I also was stuck at this point, as I couldn't find anything like that either. I've got MapInstall with the maps unlocked, and everything else.
MapInstall says storage is full and "0KB free" on my StreetPilot i5. I know of no way to hack, delete, back up, or overwrite the i5 base map. I need to update it, which I'm starting to think must be different from the process used by others. I keep Argentina and other special maps on the microSD card.
Thanks again, though, and any help is welcome!

sorry for my bad english, i speak french!
ma question : when you drag highlight the areas you want to transfer, i think is not same the real update whit product key install, if you unzoom do you saw the line of areas same inside in map source. because with the original map inside the nuvi i dont saw this line is same whit your method? if not how transfert this update whit no sector line ?
thanks (if you understand me)
98.Posted by quebec001 on Jun 02 2008 at 05:53
for fubar808, 325 is Map ID of city navigator north america NT 2009, is north america Canada + all US and you use this in keygen for unlock map
99.Posted by watongshi on Jun 07 2008 at 18:25
installed without problem after several tries!! now HOW DO I MAKE IT WORK IN MY SD CARD? I STILL HAVE THE PREINSTALLED MAPS IN NUVI...
102.Posted by snad123 on Jun 11 2008 at 06:21
For the C330, how do you remove the original maps and install the 2009 update without using an SD card? The Garmin Map Update program can do it so there must be a way.
103.Posted by reno1979 on Jun 11 2008 at 19:32
SERIOUS. Is it possible to ADD the 2009 maps to a C330 and take off the 2008 maps, or do you HAVE to keep them on an SD card in the unit?
Windows WILL NOT recognize the C330 as a drive, so you cannot go in cut and paste, at least as far as I can tell.
Thanks!

For my Nuvi 360 I followed AxlxA posts above starting at #74. It worked 100%...thanks.
AxlxA could not install all the maps at step #17....here's a work around.
First backup all the files on the Nuvi...especially gmapsupp.img.
I did not use a sd card.
While the Nuvi is attached to the computer and you try to install all the regions, step #17, a warning will mention there is not enough room. Go to the Nuvi window and delete gmapsupp.img.
There will be space now for you to install all the regions.
Takes a dang long time (two+ hours) to upload the new maps...especially on an 8 year old Windows computer.

Darn it. I downloaded and installed the maps and got the "Map cannot be unlocked" Problem. So I read the comments and tried to reinstall it but now this time when i try the launch the CNNANT2009ENU.msi installer I get a - source file not found: c:\users\appdata\local\temp\rar$dio2.745\disk1.cab verify that this file exists and I can access it?????? any one have this problem or can fix it?
110.Posted by Halp123 on Jun 23 2008 at 16:41
Silly me =D, I didn't mount the iso images before installing so I got a source file not found. Anyways for the people above who say they cant unlock maps, you need to get an unlock code from the keygen. You use custom maps with code 325 and you have to enter you gps unit id. This number is NOT your serial number on the back of the gps(this is what i put in the first time) and it wouldnt unlock the map becuz it was the wrong #s.

First off I'd like to say thankyou to the uploader. I have a C330 streetpilot and when installed it on the sd card with firmware 5.90 i lost all the maps on the unit (when i take out the sd card) and no maps display on screen i only get voice guidance (with the sd card in). I reloaded firmware 5.70 (because thats the most recent firmware i could find to download) and the gps unit worked again with the newest maps. Is anyone else having problems with the newest firmware 5.90?

Download the keygen from httpthepiratebay.orgtor3974687Garmin_Unlock_Utility_-_Keygen_Utility_-_Originals_by_JetMouse
8) Run the Keygen, this is where I messed up a few times.
9) Put in the unit id in the top box(there's going to be 4 boxes but only need to pay attention to the top and the most bottom)
10) Select from the drop down list on the 3rd box for custom map id -- Enter 325
11) Click Generate at the bottom of the program
12) Copy the Unlock Key generated in the 4th box, not the 2nd box!!
MapInstall
13) When Mapinstall tells you that the following maps are locked, you add in an unlock key
14) Enter unlock key you copied from the keygen

THIS WILL BE A LONG POST AND I CAN'T POST IT ALL IN ONE MESSAGE BECAUSE OF MININOVA'S WORD COUNT....SO IT WILL BE BROKEN DOWN
Alright, this worked for my Garmin Streetpilot C530 using a 1GB SD card to store the maps.
If any of you don't know what to do, I followed these directions somebody posted in the uncompressed version of this torrent (Why you would download that and take up more bandwidth when this is the same thing beats me.)
1. Download torrent, unzip the completed download to your desktop, open up the folder.
2. Go to Windows\Msi\ and run CNNANT2009Update_ENU.msi if you want english language.
4) Select a directory to install, takes 10 mins or so.
5) Mapinstall icon should be on your desktop now. Run it.
6. Get Unit ID from your GPS device (Mine was a Streetpilot C530)
7. Turn on unit, tap agree to pass agreement
8. Tap: Settings --> Systems --> About See Unit ID: Write it down.
131.Posted by NYPD2008 on Aug 01 2008 at 00:33
15) Add the key and you'd be prompt after 30 seconds of scanning for where you want to install the maps.
16) For an SD card, choose the drive. For the Nuvi, choose the Nuvi drive letter.
17) You should see a screen with the map of North America. For 1gb drive, I could't put in US + hawaii + alaska + Canda. It was too big for 1gb card.
I had to unselect all of canada and those states mentioned.
18) Select states by dragging a box around all the states. Use Ctrl key and left click to help unselectselect.
19) Finish and It'll take 10 mins or more to send to the device.

does anyone else have this problem, i have a 1gb sd card installed as well, but it sees that as seperate and won't include it in the total space.
what should i do?
137.Posted by m-man on Aug 06 2008 at 23:25
i figured it out, for the nuvi 200, fit as much as you can onto the unit itself, then put the rest on your SD card, just insert the card and it will use all the maps on the card and the unit together,
which you can see in 'settings/map/map info
thanks everybody especially Damon1974
138.Posted by vapor20 on Aug 07 2008 at 20:08
The 4gb SD card worked fine on my c530. You just have to remember to uncheck the old map(s) so you don't run into routing problems. I put North America, Europe, and Australia on the card (and left the maps internal to the c530 there) and just select which one to use under Map Info.
BTW - the 19 step process above is much more complicated than is has to be. I just used the UNLOCK utility after installing the maps on my PC. Then used Map Installer to choose which maps to move to the SD card.

Anyone install this on a c550 and having an issue with the traffic map being magenta (purple) when zoomed in to a certain level? The 2008 map doesn't cause this problem for me.
Also, can anyone confirm that this is this the final 2009 revision (i.e. version matches the retail disc) or an earlier pre-release?

I typed in the wrong serial number on the garmin unlock generator, and i typed that wrong serial key into mapinstall, but now it won't let me change that serial key anymore.
I need to know how i can go back and change the serial key that I typed in.
I tried uninstalling the program but that doesn't seem to work.
Someone please help!
141.Posted by aznmario95 on Aug 23 2008 at 07:04
"cannot unlock maps" means map is installed in the GPS but map is still locked. Then you you should have an unlocked North america 2009 map installed in your computer. now highlight the North America 2009 then install it in your GPS then wait for less than 1 hour. let me know if it works! goodluck

If you get the "cannont unlock maps" error and and need to retry a code the best way to reset it so you can enter a new code is to do the following.
1. open up Map source
2. click utilities from top
3. click unlock maps
4. click City Navigator North America NT 2009
5. click delete
6. close mapsource
7. open mapinstall
--you should now be able to enter in your new code.
--this is what i do when I am updating a others I know.
