Hey, trying to get this to work on my TyTN II, but cant get the maps unlocked. Does anyone know the MAPID for this map???

2.Posted by RiPPERD on Apr 17 2008 at 17:33

worked great on N95 8GB testing on my normal N95 with software updated to 21.0.016

3.Posted by alphapi (torrent uploader) on Apr 17 2008 at 19:30

@duncstar This is a symbian only torrent. The TyTN II is a Windows Mobile device. In any case the MAPID is 284, as it says in the readme.

Alphapi, how comemy n95 can't detect the GPS devices?I can't see any option on Use Attached/Built-in GPS?can you help me?

8.Posted by alphapi (torrent uploader) on Apr 18 2008 at 21:07

@ronaldtsc It's strange that it doesn't work for you. Assuming that everything else is working fine (apart from internal GPS) then your problem is most likely to be something to do with the SW.UNL file. I would double check again that it's SW.UNL and not SW.UNL.txt. Further I would check that you have entered your CardID correctly in the keygen. Finally try generating a different key (keep clicking the generate button a few times). I'm hoping that this will work, but someone else on ThePirateBay has commented that it didn't work on their N95. Perhaps it's a N95 problem - try the older version of this torrent (or perhaps just the older keygen just to generate the key for SW.UNL). P.S. I assume that if you are using Vista you've read the footnote in the PDF. Let me know!

9.Posted by BovineOfDoom on Apr 18 2008 at 22:01

ronaldtsc,

delete the garmindevice.xml within the garmin folder then restart garmin and set up the gps. The internal one will show up and can be activated.

Hi guys anyone trying to get this too work on your N95, make sure that your phone software is up to date as my N95 was on version 12 and could not run the sat nav software or enable me to fine a GPS signal/GPS device. it now up dated to version 20 something and now works fine.

This is with original software but i will try it with this later, as it will be interesting to see if it works on 8GB N95 as Garmin don't have a version that does yet.

Giz

11.Posted by BovineOfDoom on Apr 18 2008 at 23:02

gizzybobninja,

this will work on the 8gb version fine. Garmin don't list it because the 8gb N95 doesn't have a memory card slot.

12.Posted by alphapi (torrent uploader) on Apr 18 2008 at 23:13

@BovineOfDoom Thanks for your excellent advice and proving compatibility with the N95 and N95 8gb, I don't have either to test with. :)

Hi, I've got Garmin Mobile XT working fine on my N95 but it's Europe maps V.9.0 which has postcode search facility. The problem is when I've input data, many results come up either unknown or postcode not found!...I want to know that if I install this version (XT v4.10.80 UK) will my n95 have up to date maps and have postcode search enabled?
Many thanks for any response...AC

17.Posted by alphapi (torrent uploader) on Apr 22 2008 at 13:24

@attackercracker, It most certainly will. The maps are the latest possible at the moment, give it a go! If you'd like, find a postcode which doesn't work on your version and I can try it on my new version. :)

18.Posted by attackercracker on Apr 22 2008 at 20:43

Hi, new version working great! :) Thanks alphapi! Confirmed Postcode search working & up to date.
Only extra thing I did was transfer the 'vehicle' folder from the older version to the new Garmin directory as this one didn't have the vehicle selection choice in Settings> Map> Vehicle.
A great upload all the same...Cheers! ;)

@alphapi,

Quick question, The uk camera database is in kmph i.e the signs show 30 but warns you at 19mph(30kmph). Is there a way to change the speed figures to mph?

20.Posted by alphapi (torrent uploader) on Apr 24 2008 at 15:11

@BovineOfDoom To be honest I wasn't actually aware of this. I assume under Settings>System>Distance/Speed you've got Statute selected. My experience has been that when you are approaching a speed camera the phone beeps slowly (assuming you are under the speed limit). When you go over the speed limit the phone beeps quickly. I guessed that this was correct but perhaps it's not.

Let me know if you figure it out. I'll also look around and see what I can find out.

alphapi

21.Posted by BovineOfDoom on Apr 24 2008 at 22:06

@alphapi, I have it set in Statue and it when i come upto a 30 limit sign it flashes RED and shows 19mph. I have been reading on the web that this is hard written into the .gpi file :-(. I'm looking for the orinigal .csv file so I can create my own .gpi with mph hard written.

:? COULD ANYONE LET ME KNOW HOW DO I DETECT THE INTERNAL GPS I CANNOT FIND IT

25.Posted by BovineOfDoom on Apr 26 2008 at 14:27

Extracted information from the gpi file into a txt, then imported into excel and configured as per the Garmin webite.
http://www8.garmin.com/products/poiloader/creating_custom_poi_files.jsp#csv
Then imported into Garmins POI Loader and choose mph as standard settings. The file below is the same poi file that is in this torrent but mph is hard written into it. I could not see how Garmin shows the road signs (red sign on maps) so this doesn't do the same. Does all the warning signs but just show the road sign on the map when manually viewing.

Hi guys! I couldn't also detect my internal gps on my n95 8gb. I tried deleting the garmindevice.xml, tried to generate a new key by clicking generate maybe 10-12 times, i also did check the name of the folder and card id. I cant seem to figure it out i got the latest v15 firmware too..
Could you guys help me plssss??? :'(

28.Posted by BovineOfDoom on Apr 26 2008 at 15:32

http://www.m ediafire.com/?sxjonrbdd2s

Remove the space and extract the files into Garmin/POI/ on the phones memory card

Now same cameras with added speed camera icons and siren warnings embedded.
If you read a little these customer POI files are quite easy to do :-)

29.Posted by BovineOfDoom on Apr 26 2008 at 15:37

@gr0undzerh0,

After you generate the key make sure you add the unlock code shown into the SW.UNL << enure it is named this and not .txt (folder options and make sure hide known file extensions is not ticked)

Once the program is unlocked then delete the garmindevice.xml then start Garmin up and goto settings and choose the internal GPS.

30.Posted by gr0undzerh0 on Apr 26 2008 at 16:23

@BovineOfDoom,

I've tried again what you've said but still no luck. :'(
There is no internal gps to choose from?
Is it alright to copy and paste then rename the file SW.UNL in a notepad?

31.Posted by attackercracker on Apr 26 2008 at 17:01

@BovineOfDoom,

I've downloaded both your poi.GPI and POI.7z files. Do I overwite the current poi.GPI file in the Garmin > POI folder?
Then extract the files from the POI.7z to Garmin > POI folder on the phones memory card?
Confused because you have a poi.GPI file in the zip file too. Wouldn't this overwrite the poi.GPI file in your previous post?

Many thanks for any clarification...AC

32.Posted by BovineOfDoom on Apr 26 2008 at 18:28

@grounzerho, What phone are you using? If its a N95 do this. Delete the garmindevice.xml then got the GPS data program and wait till that gets a lock. Wth GPS data still running start Garmin and goto settings-remote gps and choose the internal GPS.
You can open the sw.unl in notepad yes, but when finished do save and not save as.

33.Posted by BovineOfDoom on Apr 26 2008 at 18:32

@attackercracker , The origial POI.GPI is the same speed camera GPI thats in the torrent except its got MPH data embedded. The POI.7z files are the same as the POI.GPI from the orinigal but with added camera icons/sounds for the maps. Best bet is to unzip the POI.7z files and place them in the POI folder of Garmin. Over write whats already there :-)

34.Posted by alphapi (torrent uploader) on Apr 26 2008 at 18:39

@BovineOfDoom, Just like to thank you for taking the time to improve this torrent! :) Haven't tried your 7zipped POI but I'm sure it'll be great. If/When a new Garmin version comes out and a new POI isn't released can I package your POI file (with accreditation!) into the torrent?

35.Posted by BovineOfDoom on Apr 26 2008 at 20:20

@alphapi, :) no problems, happy to help. Yeah use the POI files if you want no need to credit tho, just happy with the program you uploaded :)

39.Posted by BovineOfDoom on Apr 27 2008 at 13:22

@zafiro71, alphapi has explained this is the read me.

Create the GMAPSUPP.UNL as you did with the SW.UNL but insert the map code on the bottom of the keygen with custom maps 284. You need to generate a card id in the top section of the keygen for the sw.unl and choose customer map 284 in the bottom section and generate a map key for the gmapsupp.unl

Hi guys! I just want to share how i made my N98 8GB DETECT MY INTERNAL GPS.
What i did was, go to the menu> tools> filemananager> memory(8gb)then locate garmin folder then RENAME SW.UNL.TXT to SW.UNL then deleted the GarminDevice.xml then restart my phone!

Hope this helps! :)

43.Posted by insert_this on May 08 2008 at 13:38

Hey. I've installed this on an N95 8Gb which worked flawlessly. But i installed it on an N95 with the latest firmware, and it can see the internal gps, but just cant pick up a signal. It just keeps saying "searching for satellites" any ideas?

44.Posted by M_J_Luff on May 08 2008 at 16:50

Just got it working on my new Nokia N81 8gb. This phone uses a bluetooth GPS that I got off ebay for about £25. Make sure you get the SW.UNL and GMAPSUPP.UNL files spelt right and dont have .TXT after them. I missed the .txt the first time and the program wouldnt pickup the GPS device and didnt work. It does take about half hour to install and get it all right, but it works great and is well worth it.

45.Posted by BovineOfDoom on May 08 2008 at 22:31

@insert_this, make sure you have assisted GPS (AGPS) set to ON in the settings of the N95. This will speed up the gps fix

46.Posted by alphapi (torrent uploader) on May 09 2008 at 01:12

Further to BovineofDoom's comment, assisted gps is under settings>general>positioning>positioning methods. It is worth saying that though agps will give you a MUCH quicker fix you do pay (a few pence) for this assisted gps fix.

47.Posted by insert_this on May 09 2008 at 12:25

Thanks for the replies. I actually got it working by setting "bluetooth GPS" under positioning methods. Assisted, Integrated, and Network based were already ticked as default (i upgraded firmware) but bluetooth wasn't. Even though i had internal gps selected in Garmin, if i went out of Garmin (while it was running) i noticed the bluetooth symbol keep coming on and off. Once i ticked bluetooth GPS, it all worked fine, and got a signal straight away. I don't know what relevance it has, but it seems to work fine. But once again, thanks for the support

48.Posted by Trickster_78 on May 16 2008 at 13:42

@ ANYONE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH N95

I have got it working 100%.

Follow instructions to the letter....then add this. Once everything has been done you need to go File Manager> Garmin> then find the files that shouldn't have .txt (you will see that they have) just delete the .txt (warning message will pop up) do this for both the files.....reboot phone....and bang! 100% working GARMIN XT on N95 (internal GPS) :+

@slambutd, please read post 29

51.Posted by alphapi (torrent uploader) on May 20 2008 at 11:50

@slambutd, As usual BOD is spot on. Although you could try updating your firmware to the latest version as well. Regarding the .txt extension make sure it doesn't exist, you can check and rename directly on your phone as well. Let us know if nothing works, you'd be the first it doesn't work for after following all advice. ;)

52.Posted by Trickster_78 on May 20 2008 at 19:19

@Slambutd The problem I had was that I renamed the files as explained, but when I looked at the files on the phone they still had the .txt extension. The .txt extension will mean that the software will not become unlocked and the internal GPS will not be visable. Is yours visable on the options?

53.Posted by mx_phreek on May 24 2008 at 23:39

Trickster_78, i did as you said, when i put files in there was no .txt but when i checked in device manager they were so i just deleted .txt and it found gps on n95

Does that means my internal GPS not detected? Could someone please HELP!!!!!!!!!!! Also, what is the MapID for Australia Map??

57.Posted by BovineOfDoom on Jun 01 2008 at 21:52

@copsss69,

Are you in Australia? If so doesn't the title and description of this torrent give you a clue to your problems?

This Garmin torrent only includes UK maps. The reason you are getting the "no detailed maps" message is Garmin is looking for an australian map which this torrent doesn't have.

Look here for the map you need http://www.mininova.org/tor/1097618

58.Posted by copsss69 on Jun 02 2008 at 05:37

@BovineOfDoom,

Yes, I do know it includes UK maps!! I just thought if i choose "city navigator Australia v7" it would work but guess not. I finally got it working now. Thanks for your link. :) :) BovineOfDoom, you know where i can find POI files for Austarlia?? Many thanks!!

59.Posted by BovineOfDoom on Jun 02 2008 at 20:46

Sorry I don't know where to find POI for Aus :-(

60.Posted by alphapi (torrent uploader) on Jun 02 2008 at 23:47

@copsss69, the world map in this torrent is simply an overview map. That is just continents, countries, major roads and cities. This is a free map and requires no activation. Detailed maps (which have ALL roads and landmarks) are the maps you need to unlock. The detailed map in this torrent contains the road data only for the UK. Maps for other countries (eg. Australia) would have to be found elsewhere, then you could unlock them as you described.

Maps for Europe are fairly easy to find on Mininova, if you search for "garmin australia" on here a couple of promosing torrents come up, I would try those for your maps.

p.s. You only need Australia Maps, you don't need to re-install any other software for your phone.

Hope this all helps.

the first time i made them i only pushed generate once on each button, the second i pushed generate multiple times, thats the only thing i did different.

looks like its working now, just got to get used to it now was using route 66. ta bud. tony.

64.Posted by celtic_fc on Jun 12 2008 at 07:15

I'm looking at getting a N95 and was just wondering if you still have to pay your network provider to get voice enhancement etc... or does this torrent mean you don't have to pay anything :?

Cheers

65.Posted by alphapi (torrent uploader) on Jun 12 2008 at 09:17

@celtic_fc, if you meant voice guided navigation, then most (new) N95 come with a short free trial of voice navigation using the inbuilt Nokia Maps application. After the free trial is up, you will have to pay in order to get turn-by-turn directions (just looking at the map and seeing where you are remains free).

With this torrent you can install Garmin Mobile as an alternative to Nokia Maps. So, if you are happy to use Garmin rather than Nokia's navigation software then voice guided navigation will indeed be "free". ;)

68.Posted by celtic_fc on Jun 13 2008 at 00:12

@alphapi i had narrowed my choice down to the n82 or n95, couldn't see much difference between the two so decided to go with the one with the most gigs.

Might still opt for the n82 if they have a better deal in the shop than they do for the n95.

74.Posted by alphapi (torrent uploader) on Jun 25 2008 at 12:11

@celtic_fc, it does cost. The way to turn it off on my N82 is Tools>Settings>General>Positioning Methods, and then untick assisted GPS. I personally only have Integrated GPS ticked. Settle on N82 or N95? :)

@MBMx, ok simply download from
t i n y u r l dot c o m / 5ve67j

Remove the spaces and obviously dot is a period.

Place that file into your memory card's Garmin folder.
Finally make an exact copy of your GMAPSUPP.UNL file but call it GMAPSUP2.UNL and place that in your Garmin folder on the Memory card also.

Start up Garmin and you should have maps of Florence and the immediately adjacent areas.

Should work fine for you. :)

(I'm glad you got the UK bit working, I'm hoping my instructions were clear!)

85.Posted by MBMx on Jul 12 2008 at 01:19

Alphapi,

Thankyou so much for that, you are a star :)

it all seemed to load on fine and it has changed my garmin to a nice blue colour :) but where to i see the maps for florence? Sorry, my must think i'm a complete idiot :|

The original instructions were very clear, thanks for that :)

MBMx

86.Posted by alphapi (torrent uploader) on Jul 12 2008 at 10:58

@MBMx, assuming you've got everything working correctly, then you should just be able to click Where to? and select an Address in Italy (only Florence area mind). Alternatively, you could click View map and keep pressing 1 to zoom out till you see Europe and then move your cursor over to Florence and zoom in (press 3).

Around the Florence area you should see a detailed map with all roads, whereas near Rome, for example, all you should see are the very major roads.

Garmin Mobile XT for Symbian S60 software version 4.20.00 as of June 17, 2008......will this work out ok...ie will it update do you know?

89.Posted by insert_this on Jul 15 2008 at 06:47

I've just installed v4.20. I uninstalled v4.10.80 and then installed v4.20 and so far all is good. All you have to do is redo all your settings. So as long as you are willing to do that, it is fine. To reinstall i had to go into application manager and do it there as it didn't auto install. I'm not sure whether its really worth it as this is the change history;

Changes made from version 4.10.80 to 4.20.00:

* Improve address search in Russian.
* Improve GPS status to correctly display for Samsung S60 devices with built-in GPS receiver.
* Improve copyright display in the Settings->About->Content page.
* Improve ability to select the 'No' button to disable recalculations.
* Improve highlight on the Garmin Online page.

@Trickster_78 and insert_this, thanks for the Info.

insert_this, after you've played about with it for a bit longer, why not give us your advice on whether it's worth upgrading or not.

Hi all,

I've installed the updated GMobileTxt on Nokia Navigator 6610. Icarefully went through the readme file...everything was going great till the last part where it says "Go to Settings then Remote GPS... so far so good...and change the Option to 'Use Attached/Built-in GPS' Click Enable & then Done"

When I go into settings & remote GPS it says "Connection allowed to Garmin GPS devixces only. And button for Pair New GPS..when I press enable it tries searching for a GPS device and comes back negative. Any clues?

I'm on holidays from to Oz to UK so I have route 66 for Oz not UK which is why I downloaded this one but am having so much trouble gettingi t all sorted. Any ideas are muchly appreciated.

92.Posted by insert_this on Jul 16 2008 at 08:32

@ alphapi - First. Thanks so much for the download and all the previous info. I installed this ages ago and love it now everything is fine tuned. Was using Tomtom before, but ive found Garmin alot better, and more accurate. Ok. Onto the update. Since i've got the N95 8gb, i really can't see any improvement in it. I will try it again today. The only real improvement i could find for us Nokia uses is the "mprove ability to select the 'No' button to disable recalculations" Other than that, no real changes. And to install, first uninstall Garmin, then reinstall update. It didn't run through the normal install after i put it on the phone, so had to go into app manager, and manually do it there. Then its basically redo all the settings, but the gps settings remained as they were, and there was no need to redo any serials. Not really worth the effort in my opinion.

93.Posted by insert_this on Jul 16 2008 at 08:32

@monkey79 - sounds like you didnt do the sw.unl file correctly. you need to get rid of the .txt extension, and replace it with .unl As default, common file extensions aren't shown in xp. So the easiest way is to go into My Computer, then up the top, click on tools -> folder options -> view, then scroll down until u see the "Hide extensions of known file types" and untick the box. Then delete the .txt extension and all should be good.

94.Posted by alphapi (torrent uploader) on Jul 16 2008 at 11:13

@insert_this, thanks for both of your excellent answers. :)

@monkey79, insert_this gives the best method of sorting your problem out. There is a slightly less elegant method which is just to rename the sw.unl file directly on your phone using the phones own file browser.

95.Posted by insert_this on Jul 16 2008 at 18:54

@alphapi, I'm going to reinstall v4.10.80 just to confirm a reception issue im having. Ive tested it again tonight driving home from work, and it just seems to take longer to acquire a signal, and will jump between 4 and 5 bars pretty much continuously. I'm pretty certain with the older version, i had solid 5 bars for the most part. Will let you know :)

96.Posted by heyjohn on Jul 19 2008 at 00:30

does anyone know how to add some new maps without erasing the old ones?
I'm using Mapsource but when i wanna add belgium it deletes UK.

Thanks. :)

Nokia N95 8GB

1 I have extracted garmin program and moved the resulting Mobile Card Folder and contents to my mass storage on N95
2 I have then extracted Help and Voices and moved them to Garmin folder on mass storage device

3. I have then gone to garmin/ / / / res/ garminxt.sis file and installed it. Installation completed successfully
4. Gone to apps and tried to run xtgarmin .. a lovely garmin black and blue logo appears for about 2 seconds and then screen reverts to apps screen. application does not open

101.Posted by Serious_bass on Jul 19 2008 at 21:42

5. Tired a reboot of phone and retired app... this time no logo appears and apps screen sort of flashes once and nothing...

so i cannot get into the application to get the card id info or anything else

i am doing something wrong and would be eternally grateful if some higher being could point a **** in the right direction

@Serious_bass, 1st try In Garmin folder on phone delete GarminDevice.xml if not then try updating to the latest n95 firmware.

105.Posted by insert_this on Jul 20 2008 at 04:48

@ alphapi, After trying the latest version for a few days, i have had no problems with it. I still don't know if its worth the update, but its definately working ok, and am having no issues with the signal strength anymore. :)

106.Posted by Serious_bass on Jul 20 2008 at 10:59

Thx alphapi..

but i cannot find the file u mention... looking in my Garmin folder on the phone...(the installed folder) the only files i can see are within apps (Garmin_flash.nvm, Garmin_mpm.nvm, Garmin.nvm, g mobilr.ini) all other folders are (no data) apart from help and voices which i manually copied over... are they hidden ? or has my install not worked?

Can anyone tell me where I can get a map of GRAN CANARIA that will work on this version please.

I'm going in a few weeks and would be really usefull with car hire

109.Posted by freelogon on Jul 24 2008 at 03:06

I've followed the instruction in the pdf file and now it's running very well since the begining in the new NOKIA E71.

Many thanks to the uploader :+

110.Posted by matt_f64 on Jul 24 2008 at 10:51

so if i download and install this, does that mean i don't have to pay for GPS at all??

111.Posted by BovineOfDoom on Jul 25 2008 at 00:38

@sprog2109 - this will only include uk maps. For Gran Canaria you need to get this http://www.mininova.org/tor/1096905 and just install the canaries and southern spain for use on your holiday. http://www.mininova.org/tor/1102174 this is the unlock code for the mapsource in the other torrent.
@matt 164 - gps is free unless you use the assisted part of the gps within the phones settings. This torrent will not change that fact

112.Posted by BovineOfDoom on Jul 25 2008 at 00:40

@sprog2109 when you return from Spain you will need to install the uk maps from this torrent and follow that instuctions to get back to the way it is now.

113.Posted by matt_f64 on Jul 25 2008 at 10:36

So what is the point in downloading this torrent then, as i can get the maps for free off nokia anyway? does this torrent give me anything additional?
and does anyone know how to crack the voice assist?

114.Posted by BovineOfDoom on Jul 25 2008 at 12:01

@matt f64 - the maps are free to download from nokia but you need to pay for voice guidance and that is not crackable because of the subscription service they have in place.

GPS is just the chip within the phones. All GPS systems and chips are free to use but if you want to use the GPS with a routing software then you will usually pay for the software

115.Posted by BovineOfDoom on Jul 25 2008 at 12:03

GPS - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_Positioning_System is free
Navigation IS NOT usually

116.Posted by matt_f64 on Jul 25 2008 at 12:55

Yes ok i understand that, but then what is the point of this torrent and the other TomTom torrents that claim to be 'cracked'?

117.Posted by BovineOfDoom on Jul 25 2008 at 18:56

These torrent are for navigation software that use the GPS feature. You can pay for the nokia/Garmin/TomTom navigation or use the torrents and get free navigation from Garmin or TomTom

118.Posted by BovineOfDoom on Jul 25 2008 at 18:58

@matt f64 - in simple terms https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=11413 pay for Garmin here

Or download torrent and get it free

119.Posted by matt_f64 on Jul 26 2008 at 02:39

I see, thank you :)

Anyone with an N95 8GB can help me? I just purchased one, i installed nokia pc suite, and i installed map loader from the nokia website. i then installed nokia maps 2.0 onto my phone however under application manager it claims it is 'not installed', although i can open the maps application.
when i go to open map loader it says i need to update my pc suite, so i do that. but then now my computer wont recognise my phone when i plug it in?
can anyone help me with a simple, systematic way of setting it all up? i dont mind uninstalling everything and starting again if someone can tell me what order to do it all in!

120.Posted by sprog2109 on Jul 26 2008 at 09:04

@BovineOfDoom Thanks very much for all of your help I might need to ask for more help so please stay close.
Big thanks SPROG2109

121.Posted by BovineOfDoom on Jul 26 2008 at 16:34

@mattf64 - when you connect your phone ensure you choose pc suite and NOT data transfer when the options appear. If options don't appear when you plug the lead in then goto /tools/settings/connection/usb and ensure "ask on connection" is set to yes.
@sprog2109 - Glad I could help :-)

122.Posted by matt_f64 on Jul 28 2008 at 03:27

yeah i make sure its on PC suite. i'm still having big problems getting the maps installed from nokia.com/maps i might have to contact nokia :(

@jazzy29 please see post 9 to solve this problem

129.Posted by jazzy29 on Aug 10 2008 at 20:50

thanks very much for advice but after deleting garmin device xml file still wouldnt hook up to gps in phone, infact it still cant see the phones gps!!!

130.Posted by BovineOfDoom on Aug 10 2008 at 23:43

Jazzy29 - turn your phone off, put the memory card into your PC and delete the garmindevice.xml from the Garmin folder. Insert card and re-start phone. Start Garmin cancel the searching for GPS device message. Goto settings >Remote GPS and then choose the internal GPS. This should work if it doesn't then let me know. BOD

131.Posted by insert_this on Aug 11 2008 at 11:47

@ jazzy29, Sounds like the garmin software isn't unlocked properly

132.Posted by jazzy29 on Aug 11 2008 at 15:42

Hi i have done as bod says (130) but when i start phone up all is ok until i go to remote gps, it doesnt give me facility to choose internal gps (have cancelled gps search as above on start up), my phone says either ; connection allowed to garmin gps devices only i can either highligh the pair new gps or not? doesnt matter what option i choose it says search complete no gps devices found. try again.!!!!.
cant be much wrong with this phone, ps uploaded software 21 version last night.
many thanks in advance.
cheers
jazzy29!!

133.Posted by BovineOfDoom on Aug 11 2008 at 20:46

@jazzy29, are you sure the the sw.unl is not a txt file (see post 42). Do what groundzerho did and see if that works.

134.Posted by jazzy29 on Aug 11 2008 at 21:28

Hi bod, thanks for advice again!! i am sorry but aint too great wi this kinda stuff, can you talk me through the sw.unl bit again please.
when i inputed it 1st time as pdf i just went into my documents, new folder, put in my numbers that were generated and re-named file sw.unl then sent to memory card in reader in pc, dragged that file into garmin file!! is that right please??
cheers!! jazzy29

135.Posted by BovineOfDoom on Aug 12 2008 at 01:03

Jazzy29 - on your phone tools>file manager>(right nav key so it shows your memory card)>scroll down to garmin folder>ensure the sw.unl & gmapsupp.unl are named .unl and NOT sw.unl.txt & gmapsupp.unl.txt. If they are then rename and delete the .txt parts.

136.Posted by jazzy29 on Aug 12 2008 at 19:58

Hi all jazzy 29 again, just to say thanks very much for all the help and advice given on this site but am affraid im beat with trying to get this to see my inbuilt gps, if i dont quit now i think phone will be bounced off wall!!
I`ll wait till it aint rocket science to get software to run or unless some super kind person uploads all the twaddle to a site for total fools (like me) to upload.
thanks again all esp bod but im done with it.

does this work with Nokia 6500 Slide?

I did the first instrution. i extracted the file then put it in to the phone and then put the Help and the voice file as well. it didnt automatically install so i went to activate manually and when i clicked on the file it said its does not support the file? is it a problem with the phone?

138.Posted by BovineOfDoom on Aug 21 2008 at 21:54

@sony0193 i'm sure that this Garmin version is only for s60v3 phones. The 6500 slide is not a v3.

I could be totally wrong but i'm sure it wont work on the 6500

@Bovineofboom, Thank you for your advise, could you please be more specific about the torrent mentioned in post 72? I have it now but i can't find a file "citynavigator Europe NT V9" I have extracted it and installed a program called mapsource but I can't find any maps ??? what am i doing wrong here ??? :( :( :(

149.Posted by BovineOfDoom on Sep 12 2008 at 00:10

@airborne67, open mapsource and you should see a map of europe. Choose the map tool button at the top and then draw a square over the part of europe that you want. The maps will then be listed on the left. Connnect your phone and transfer. Open the keygen supplied in this torrent or the mapsource torrent and choose "citynavigator Europe NT V9" from the select map product in the bottom then transfer the code to the GMAPSUPP.UNL

150.Posted by shashnova on Sep 12 2008 at 21:14

can anyone point me to the torrent which is for a Windows Mobile device, btw I have htc.

151.Posted by airborne67 on Sep 14 2008 at 22:22

@BovineOfDoom, Many thanks again for tour help, much apreciate.
Indeed I am able to select the desired maps now however I might have done something wrong with the keygen because my divice is not able to unlock te map. but i'm sure I will figure it out. again thanx for your support ! :)

152.Posted by BovineOfDoom on Sep 15 2008 at 21:44

@airborne67. have you changed the code in the GMAPSUPP.UNL? The code device code at the top of the keygen is the same as this torrent but to unlock the maps you will need the new code for the GMAPSUPP.UNL
