I'm having problems with the virtual floppy drive thing.
When I go to the A: drive I can see the 2 key files. But when I try to browse to the A drive under the "Add Data" button on the software, it says "Repair Data not found..."
I am probably doing something stupid wrong, but I have no idea!

Am i the only only one getting a password required message, i've D/L'd the whole thing and none of the .rar files will open without a password, and no other program (power iso magiciso etc) will recognise the files.

So the main program install went fine, but I cannot get the "Add Data" to work ... I have burned the two data files from the first DVD (Repair1_07_2A_2.mdf and .mds) onto a disc, but it will not read the contents?!?

Found the answer to my own question ... if it helps anyone else:
- When you unpack the rar's into directories, you need to unpack the .mds file with UltraISO (yep, yet another layer of compressed data)
- From here you can burn the first disk, and the install works perfectly - you can select where you want to access the data, and you can unpack it onto a hard disk
- Disc 9 is missing, but someone else reloaded separately - still incoming

Have all the files except disk 9, seeded for about 3 weeks. Software works great!!!However Noone would share disc 9 with me. If you have disk 9, I am looking to make a trade.

That disk is for the 1st quarter of last year. It comes in an ISO format and will not work

hi can any one give me a hand. downloaded the program extracted the iso disk image for each disk on hard drive i'm at add data in the mitchell program how do I add it correctly every time i try it tells me no file found or error copying all the information is the there an illustration somewhere or do I have to burn them to double layer disk first and that is the only way is will read the information it does ask me to put in disk depending on car and year thanks.

It works just fine. Takes a while to get it to work right the first time. Hint you have to get the virtual floppy floppy to recognize the key files or it will not instal. HOWEVER, i can't find DISK 9 anywhere. I anyone has this, or knows where an active torrent is for disk 9, i would be much appreciative. If anyone has any questions about the torrent or the installation, i will try and help as much as i can. And yes, its worth the wait. However, if you have a import vehicle, disk 9 has all of that data on it.....so you might want to consider that before committing to the download.

I had problems with the virtual floppy as well! I finally went and purchased real floppys and used my A: drive! Put the keys on the real floppy, insert into drive and then I could add repair data! But I can't add any more repair or estimator data. That's what I need help with.

I added repair 1 data and now when I try to add more repair disks I can not because the add data icon is not highlighted. Did I do something wrong? The add estimator is highlighted but when I click on it, it searches for the key and says key not found. Are the keys for the repair and estimator disks the same? I have tried 2 different sets of keys to no avail. Thanks for the help!

I couldn't get the virtual floppy to work. I got a floppy drive on my pc, bought some floppy disks, installed the keys on it, and it worked.

Post 44...After you do the install, put the keys on the floppy. Insert your floppy in the A: drive. Next, after you have Uncompressed the rar files, download UltraISO. Go into one of the files, and you will see two files. A .mdf, and a .mds. Right click on the .mdf file, click on Open with... and hit UltraISO. It will open it up. Then, click on Burn CD/DVD image, and burn it to DVD. I did do this for back-up. You can also click on "Extract" and it will extract them to the file you want, so you can use them from the computer, instead of keep flipping discs. After all that, click "Update data" on the Mitchell, direct it to the location of the files, and there ya go. If ya need further help, let me know. dbennett0723@aol.com Hope this helps ya.

dbennett. . . I prefer to get the help here, that way if any other people are having the same troubles everyone can get the help without making new posts.
The program is not reconizing estimator images a & b, as well as all the repair images with one exception. . . repair 1 works of a dvd that I had burnt of it, but it will not reconize the image off the external hard drive. I have tried to burn estimator images to dvd's but no luck there either.
Hope you know what's wrong!

I did what you said in post 46 and I also found the "data path" so it can find the other repair disk images. But it dosen't want to reconize it. I'm want it to go to an external hard drive. I also tried to get one of the repair disks to goto a dvd drive with no luck. I've only burnt two disks (repairs 1 & 5) because all the other disk images are too big for the dvd5's that I bought. I know I have to buy dvd9's to get the other disk images, but I have already gone through enough dvd5's trying to get this to work! lol

Download MagicISO! This the program to make this work. Set number of drives to 12 and mount data & estimator data to the virtual drives and there you go! Thanks to the uploader!

I just finished downloading for 3 weeks and noticed that disk 9 is missing. I see here that everyone is saying to download REPAIR9_07_1I_2.iso but that says it is 3rd quarter and what I downloaded was 2nd quarter. Is there going to be a problem with the one disk being 3rd quarter?

Hi.. I recently download mitchell 5.8, I have a problem, When I install the program send me this message " please enter the account number located on the shipping label", and I don't know what number is, well, I put any number and the instalacion goes on, when finish, I run the program and when I wan add data, tell me this message "the disc in the selected drive is not compatible with this version of the software, you should have recently received and updated set of data discs througt the mail. please regster your new discs following the instructions in the envelope."... can any help me please?..

I recently download the whole package (49Gb in 4 days) Mitchell 5.8 and all Repair disks are corrupt RAR archives.
