Thanks eztv. I thought episode 6 was the last one. 10/10 for EZTV as always. (except on april 1st)

I really found the cries of the chicken little's screaming "fake" to be rather unbelieveable. There was already confusion as to why the scene had no release of the episode and I really think most if not all of those crying "fake" were actually corporate schills for HBO and/or Warner Brothers.

SPEVMAN: I downloaded and watched the torrent you uploaded, thanks! It was very watchable indeed. It wasn't until the end credits that I realized that the image was somewhat blurred. I compared this to the previous episodes I downloaded and could see the difference.
I read your comments on the other torrent, but I wonder, if you captured the original video on the TV card in your PC, did the blurriness happen when you rendered it into a avi file? Doesn't the PC card save the original video as a avi file that you can simply upload?
Also, who are "the scene" and what exactly is a scene-release?
PS - I thought your explanation for the delay in your upload was hillarious. I too have been called to jury duty there, yet I've never been picked.

SPEVMAN: do you know if EZTV used your torrent as the source for theirs?
7.Posted by spevman on Apr 24 2008 at 03:05
BPeppy:
EZTV dosent release torrents themselves, so no, mine was not the source for theirs. EZTV merely grabs files off Usenet and uploads them as torrents to either Mininova or BT Chat. A scene release group "0TV" capped the show from a HDTV source (mine was PDTV source. See this link to learn about "the scene":
http://www.aboutthescene.com/general/index.html
As for the brurrier image with my capture. I cannot capture anything directly with my TV card as my cable feed is digital and I have no converter box for the feed to my computer. It was recorded on my DVY and transferred via an analog feed to my computer and captured using windows movie maker (which only caps in WMV format) and then I converted it to the proper file type of AVI using Blaze Media Pro. I then took that AVI file and processed it with Auto Gordian Knot to produce an AVI file of the proper file size and audio format/bitrate. The blurriness probably happened somewhere in the conversions.

SPEVMAN: Thanks for the info. I began with p2p last fall when looking for recent Daily Show episodes. I first found the Stage 6 website that DivX was running. Then when they started taking down episodes, I switched to BitTorrent (DivX's Stage 6 swebsite shut down this past March). A couple Saturdays ago, NPR ran an interview with Bram Cohen who invented BitTorrent in 2001. Since then I've been interested in learning all about p2p. I'm convinced it will reshape the internet over the next decade.
Thanks for the explanation for the steps you took to put out your torrent. It makes me appreciate even more all of your efforts and the time it took! Its great to learn on this international forum that there is another local who is so committed!

All of you will be arrested soon, you are all criminals, whether you believe you are or not. The FBI is heading the crackdown here stateside, Fox News just had a huge story of 350 arrests today. Interpol is gunning for all you people outside the US who think you are safe. Peer Guardian is no good anymore, they have the technology to defeat it and get your IP. The end is very near.

to 9. Please kiss my criminal or otherwise and possibly a larger, collective, more hairy ass.

LMFAO.
I'll buy it when it comes out on DVD... but I'm not changing my ways.

You see number 7 your first mistake is quoting an entertainment channel as a news channel in a torrent that has to do with our founding fathers. Your second mistake was sighting Fixed News as covering that story today; something that anyone reading this site could easily check. I did not find this so called story of 350 people being arrested.
In the spirit of Jefferson I quote:
“When the government fears the people there is liberty; when the people fear the government there is tyranny.”
“A wise and frugal Government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement.”
13.Posted by TURBUNAL on Apr 24 2008 at 07:03
And here’s one for you number 9: “The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts as are only injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods, or no God. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg.”
And let us not forget what freedom means in these days when presidents take away our bill of rights to provide us with some safety: “Yes, we did produce a near-perfect republic. But will they keep it? Or will they, in the enjoyment of plenty, lose the memory of freedom? Material abundance without character is the path of destruction.”
Thomas Jefferson
The time for revolution is near.

@10 . Damn it! If I woke up earlier I could have... Now have to be second -telling no9 to kiss hairy ass. After I've done some real bad ****ping in my pants 1st - just for the heck of it. Could never imagine a doomsday profet would appear here - its hillarious. Lmao !
That poor guy needs to review history - ex. when the makers of 1st VHS recorders where taken to court. And cleared - its legal to record tv-progs for personal use...
ok - have to end this because otherwise I'm too much in to the road of hazy legal mumbojumbo

Talk of interpol is assinine. "Interpol is gunning for all you people outside the US who think you are safe". Maybe they'll throw me in the wagon with Bin Laden? I wonder if there's room in that wagon for al the drug dealers after they've moved all us downloaders to the top of the list? Whatever you're smoking, it's too strong and it's making you irrationally paranoid. How apt this *******ery occurs on aboard discussing John Adams. The irony isn't lost on me.
I for one welcome our interpol overlords.

Hey TURBUNAL, you actually checked Fox News to see if 350 got arrested?????????????? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! What a gullible loser! I wanted to see which one of you idiots would fall for it first and sir, you win the dummy prize. The fact that you checked it at all says that you thought there was the POSSIBILITY that it was true.
Recording for personal use? Sure, that's legal. However, I don't think recording a show and distributing it all over the world constitutes personal use, especially if the show is from a PAY channel.
21.Posted by japander on Apr 24 2008 at 08:21
They're all pay channels - we pay for cable. Doesn't change a thing.
22.Posted by greeneggsandhamm on Apr 24 2008 at 08:26
Does the great legal mind of Jerryduuh have any legal precedents he wishes to share with us that show the copying and distribution of copyrighted material like music, movies, and books is in fact legal? If so, I would love to hear it.
By the way TURBUNAL, I have rotating IPs, like any internet savvy person should. Do you think I would actually let Mininova know my real IP?? Be serious.
23.Posted by greeneggsandhamm on Apr 24 2008 at 08:33
To 21, HBO being a pay channel changes everything, you stupid know-nothing. Regular cable channels make their ***** from advertising revenue. HBO and other premium channels make their ***** from SUBSCRIPTION FEES. If you are stealing HBO's content, they can't make any ***** and they go out of business. The ***** you pay for your cable goes to your cable provider, not the channels.

Whats wrong greeneggs, you seem a little mad?
The funny thing is there's a guy who goes through these forums and spends his night telling people they're going to get arrested and they're criminals on torrents and wbesites he doesnt dont even use.... Who's the real looser?
I can only look down in pitty of people like you and be sorry that I have to share this wrold with them.
I should listen to myself though, as I always say: You can argue with a stupid person till you're blue in the face, at the end of the day, they're still going to be stupid.

For now where I live it's still legal to download movies, music or whatever the hell I want of the web, so to comment on greeneggsandhamm: Boo freakin' hoo! Interpol ain't got shyte on me!

Supreme Court of the People's Republic of NewJersey:
"ISP's MAY NO LONGER GIVE OUT SUBSCRIBER INFO without GRAND JURY subpoena"
a recent case THREW OUT info given to police as a result of a subpoena issued by a mere judge. Makes it virtually IMPOSSIBLE to get subscriber info in the ****J

Hey greeneggs - We pay the cable operators, they pay the content providers. It's late. Go to bed and then read up on it tomorrow.

Rumours of HBO tracking John Adam's torrents are true. I got a letter from the Cable company telling me when exactly I downloaded the files. This is damaged goods.

O-- yeah, and it was HBO that complained to the cable company.

I read the hooplah about the other version of this epsiode posted by "spevman" (www.mininova.org/tor/1348573). I was surprised by the passions of the few commenters who were convinced that that torrent had to be a fake and was some sort of trojan to enable HBO and their agents to learn the identities of those who downloaded it (even if they were running PeerGuardian). They even said that downloading that torrent would lead to your arrest. I found this nonsense. I googled this and found no reference to this crazy talk.
But I did find the question on why the "sceners" were slow in not posting a "scene-release" version of JA pt.7. I realize that some are quick to yell when they sniff a conspirarcy, but I wonder what does this really mean??
