This is a good pack of software BUT "AntiVir Personal" could not clean my computer recently, and I got the new FREE AVG V8..........
http://free.grisoft.com/ww.download-avg-anti-virus-free-edition
and this cleaned out all the win32 and other very bad viruses I had, it also found a virus running in the background and removed it.
When the rest fail you, TRY IT.

andyxxxx is right, as always. AVG is a very good program, although, there's no such things as a program who can protect you from all the viruses out there. IMO Kaspersky Internet Security is the best, but it's not free. (There's a 30 day evaluation that ya'll can try out)

I dont agree that Kaspersky is the best. By my opinion the best is NOD32 and the second best is BitDefender. NOD32 is giving you the best protection and it has low resources requirements.

Ivicakmk, I used NOD32 the last couple of months until something happen. I was about to dl a torrent with I looked at the comments page and someone said it was infected. I dled the torrent and before openning it ,I scanned it with NOD32 and he didn't detect anything. I installed the program and had a use issue with a virus. I used all the anti-virus/spyware removal applications you can think. None worked, except Kaspersky who cleaned out my computer.
; )

"... such as Damn NFO viewer" ---> you don't need a program to open NFO files. Just go to the properties of an nfo file and choose open with notepad. Problem solved...

This pack is very handy to have and put on a flash drive and use when servicing other pc's! Thanks a bunch. Would be nicer if they were self running but its all good.

NOD32 has problems with packed viruses, BitDefender and its problem with false positives, I personally prefer Kaspersky.

Well I 'll add my 2 cents for what it's worth on this subject, some people like Fords, or GMC, Honda or Dodge etc. I've learned the best way to find out is through learning and trying each Antivirus. I certainly have tried almost all the them at one point or another. In the end I throw my hat off to AVG. I think a point to consider is that hackers like to go after the big 5 or so, as the challange to beat them earns them bragging rights. Again I learned that the hard way starting out with Norton many years ago. Prior to going to AVG i was using NOD32...but in the end it let me down, AVG cleaning up what NOD 32 could not. No magazine you read the the GURU of all knowledge. Talk to your friends. over time you'll find what you like. Thanks to the downloader for this nice upload. oops ... sorry I gave you 2 bits of advise lol.

Having worked in the Antivirus Business, let me tell you this. You know why only certain companies can remove certain infections?
I'll give you a hint, the fighter of the problem is usually the creator of the problem.
That goes for two companies I've worked for, which I cannot mention due to my NDA lasting for 5 freaking years. But they're notorious for being harder than **** to uninstall, so that should give you hints.

you guys "CA Internet Security Suite " is much better than most,
AVG has a lot of false results, mainly to make you see that its doing its job off watching, Nodd 32 does the opposite and does nothing whatsoever. the firewall that comes with CA Internet Security Suite is also a bit more responsive than sygate and not as fussy as Paranoia Zone Alarm. Just look at most posts that regard "virus in download", usually an avg user, yet you never hear from the other downloaders that there compuer has been infected, by the said virus that is reported.

Have you guys tried AIMP 2? It's way better than winamp!
