I agree with the 3 people above me. I've seen the trailer and it makes me :r. See the original.

It's like someone put the script through Babelfish, translated it into Russian, then French, then back to English and said...

"Hey! let's film this one!"

Poor Colm Meany...

So is this the original US remake, or the remake of the remake as the preview audience didn't like it?

8.Posted by MrRocKING on Jun 18 2008 at 18:44

I think it's the original US remake as written by David Kelley. Apparently he's walked away from it so we only hope the new version is better.

It's well done for a remake. The English version is excellent and holds up. This version needs a bit more polish and effects. The acting and finer story points, are what needs improvement.

The main police officer is more manly than the UK version. He's like a new Mel Gibson. The UK show the guy was too young but still played the part well. The side kick girl in the original was a stunner in looking and feminine aura. This girl is also nice. So the casting is right for the 70's time.

Ok, I feel like I'm about to pass a really bad car accident, I know it's going to be messed up, and I really shouldn't look...but I just can't help it!!!

It reminds me of that dreadful American remake of 'Red Dwarf', (...and yes, they really made one, and it's as bad as you can possibly imagine.) At least that one never made it to air, (although there are a few bootleg copies of it floating around out there somewhere, bunch of smegheads.)

...oohhhh, and speaking **** poor Americanization, anyone remember the travesty that was made of 'Doctor Who'. Hoo boy, not even Paul McGann could save that one.

Oh well, I'm trying to keep an open mind , (but I'm holding my nose, just in case,) here we go.....

I never saw the original but I thought this one was not too bad. I actually enjoyed it! I really wish they'd bring another season of "Breaking bad" back. I really enjoyed that show. :+

:'( yes they have did they copey every part of the script or cant they wright for the selves come down for col meamey

Apparently ABC has decided to make some major cast changes and rewrite the scripts, so what you have here will not resemble the premiere episode. Something about focusing more on a mythological element(not sure what that is). Thanks eztv for the preair keep up the good work.

Oh my God, how bad is this ! They should rename it 'Dead on Arrival' rather than 'Life on Mars'. It's an absolute insult to the British original. Everything that made the UK version stunning is missing from this piece of garbage. Were those safety wires or puppet strings attached to Jason O'Mara in the final scene ? Yes he was THAT bad !

17.Posted by download_deamon on Sep 12 2008 at 12:31

That was a travesty!! How could the 'owners' of LOM allow this?

Why do Americans need a 'different' show? I'd rather they didn't butcher it and it never made it to US TV's rather than have my mind tainted by this overwhelming sadness.....God bless the Uk and long live John Simm!

Thanks downloader - it's not your fault. Thanks for reminding me how lucky I am not to be subjected to only American TV.

geez calm down everyone....yeah its a piece of ****, thats why they re-did it all! don't even know why this pile is still seeding. The REAL pilot airs tomorrow (Oct. 9, 2008) on ABC. So pull your knickers out of your arse and don't be so quick to judge.

19.Posted by Sam_Tyler on Oct 09 2008 at 17:54

No one is being quick to judge ! They are simply judging the pilot as seen on this downoad and it's a pile of **** !!

This is OK but the full series is much better, and much much better than the original BBC show (which as usual had low quality actors except for John Simm, poor production values, disjointed scripts).
