2.Posted by whackpak on Jul 01 2008 at 11:53

I dont think this will run on my macbook :'(

3.Posted by dougoftheabaci on Jul 01 2008 at 16:26

@Whackpak:
Nope. This game requires a dedicated graphics card which means your MacBook along with MacBook Air and Mac Mini model Macs will not be able to run it.

MacBook Pro, iMac and Mac Pro models are fine.

Thank you very much for this torrent. It downloaded fine. I had one minor problem with the instructions,HELP ME PLEASE! as it is stopping me from running the program as it needs the CD. How do I locate;

"Battlefield 2142.app/Contents/Resources/Battlefield 2142.app/Contents/Resources/transgaming/c_drive/Program Files/Electronic Arts/Battlefield 2142/"

Thanks

Sorry if its a dumb-ass question, I am new to Mac.

Whoop whoop, worked it out (right click>Show package contents). Now have the same problem as 'audun1'.

7.Posted by da_hackergamer on Jul 03 2008 at 19:34

for all the people who cant get past the log in screen...
Use little snitch to prevent BF 2142 from connecting to the internet, then you will be able to choose an offline player, or you could disconnect your internet cable, then plug back in after log in to offline player.

Kinda ****s though if your offline none of your ranks save and you cant get the new items, anyway i dont think you can play online :| , maybe you can, has anyone got it to work online?

Hope this helps :)

Every time after i enter the serial it says to check that the cd is in the drive how do i fix this?

9.Posted by da_hackergamer on Jul 04 2008 at 07:46

Make shure you replaced the files and put them in the right place!, if you diddnt, you will have to re-do it. (read the original instructions cearfully!)

When you are copying and pasting the "BF2142.exe" and "SwiffPlayer.dll" files, make shure that you do this:

Find the BF2142 you installed, right click and go "show package contents"
Then go Contents/Resources
Then you will find ANOTHER "BF 2142", again, right click on it and go "show package contents".

From there go:
Contents/Resources/transgaming/c_drive/Program Files/Electronic Arts

Then paste the files in the "Battlefield 2142" folder
(Make sure to "REPLACE" the old files with the new!<hit replace on the window that will pop up>;)

Note: to anyone who cant find the BF 2142 file in their library, thats cause you need to start up the game at least once first!

Hope this helps ;)

11.Posted by dlzip15 on Jul 04 2008 at 19:15

the issue with checking th cd is before i can even install it. I am new with macs so any help would be greatly appreciated.

12.Posted by da_hackergamer on Jul 04 2008 at 19:37

how is it before you install it?
Put the CD in, open the CD, then drag the folder to the location you want.

dosnt seem passable to need to put the cd key in before installing...

14.Posted by da_hackergamer on Jul 04 2008 at 19:48

just unplug the internet cord (or use little snitch) , make sure it says "player" as the username, click log on, then choose go as offline player.

15.Posted by toppy49 on Jul 05 2008 at 07:16

Right, I've done everything properly, but still can't get past the login screen. What info do you have to put in to play offline? Is it even possible to play offline? I have done everything else correctly, including putting the profiles into prefs and the amended files into the transgaming drive folder

Anybody get it to work who can help? :?

20.Posted by da_hackergamer on Jul 22 2008 at 17:40

YOU NEED TO BLOCK THE INTERNET FOR PLAYING OFFLINE!!!!!!!

Either use little snitch to block bf 2142 from communicating, or just simply unplug/ disable your internet cord/source.

then start up bf 2142, it will say that it had error communicating and you will be able to play offline! :|

21.Posted by chakakhan on Jul 24 2008 at 21:07

Well I did all this and still can't get it to work. I unplugged internet and when I hit ok to pick a soldier, it gives me a message that it can't find the EA account on my LOCAL machine. Then takes me back to the login screen. Anyone get past this?

Don't stop SEEDING please!

24.Posted by vinc117 on Jul 28 2008 at 18:29

IT'S NOT WORKING!!!!!! I did everythings perfectly :

After installing, copy the files "BF2142.exe" and "SwiffPlayer.dll" (located in the "Crack/No-Disk/" folder) into the folder in the path:

"Battlefield 2142.app/Contents/Resources/Battlefield 2142.app/Contents/Resources/transgaming/c_drive/Program Files/Electronic Arts/Battlefield 2142/"

After that, copy the folder "Profiles" (located in the "Crack" folder) into the path:

"(User)/Library/Preferences/Battlefield 2142 Preferences/p_drive/My Documents/Battlefield 2142/"

But It'S Not Working!!!!

25.Posted by vinc117 on Jul 28 2008 at 18:35

It Say : Please ensure Battlefield 2142 Install Disc is in the drive, select OK and restart the application.

26.Posted by block33 on Jul 30 2008 at 12:37

listen, it's sooooo easy, when you get a bit to know mac.
just do what the instruction file says (to come to Contents/Resoures and stuff RIGHT-CLICK on game icon and go "show package contents. follow the rest and when contents/resources come in the next steps again do the same.). u can change ur player EXATLY as it says. nothing more.
account name is 001 and password is aswell 001. if it asks you for an update or "we have noticed your internet connection is working again" click cancel. it'll all be fine. then click on the soldier 101 and enjoy the few laps you got. :'( -- > that's dissapointing. i think im gonna buy a serial (in a shop) and play it for real. that would be the first game i payed for! out of 20 or some.
i'm gonna check this site for a week from now and solve your problems. today is the july 30th.
good luck ;)

27.Posted by block33 on Jul 31 2008 at 22:30

vince, first i wanna make clear that you have to replace everything from the no-dvd folder as it says. if it asks you just say yes for all of the files.
if that doesnt work you could mount the image again and copy the game again and that whole story. try to replace it and all that stuff.
what i believe what you have done wrong is:
1. you accidently deleted a file
2. you copied the files wrong
3. you did something wrong while coping them,. maybe you said "no" when it asks you if it should replace the files (which were already there. the old ones, the originals from the game).
write me when you get any results. if its still not working we'll think of something

28.Posted by block33 on Jul 31 2008 at 22:38

chakakhan, you dont have to unplugged your internet or use "littlesnitch". no, you dont!
just do as i say:
-start the game
-when you come to the log-in screen say "CANCEL" if it says something about an update
-then type account name 001 and password 001 and say log-in
-when it asks you whether you want to log-in again with your real account name (cos the game had noticed your internet connection is working again) say cancel or no.
ATTENTION: if a window comes up, that says you can only play offline at the time. say okay. you'll know that that is the windows i speak of cos it has only !!! 1 !!! button that btw says OK.
then select your the "101 soldier" ad play in SINGLEPLAYER - MODE.
you cant achieve any upgrades, what a pity ;( .
well, thats it. everything ok now??
if you got any problems let me know. if it works let me know. then i can be proud of myself, cs i helped someone :) ;)
and again good luck

block33
you don't understand
when we login with 001/001 or player/001 or anything.. it just says "Cannot find off local machine" it doesn't ask if we want to ogin again with our real account name.
your suggestions just don't work. its that simple. we don't get what u get. we just get "cannot find off local machine" plain and simple.

mfcstevenson, Post No: 19.

Make sure that the username is the same as the username of your profile!
and make sure there is NO password in the password slot.

th check the correct username of the profile, or to change it,
go: (User)/Library/Preferences/Battlefield 2142 Preferences/p_drive/My Documents/Battlefield 2142/0001, and open "profile.con" with "text Edit".
:)

My iMac 2.8ghz does not like this game. The game has crashed a few times. Then it worked fine for a few hours last night. But now i cant get past the 'select spawnpoint' screen because my cursor becomes locked in position...

any suggestions anyone?

32.Posted by jarlle on Aug 25 2008 at 19:23

Hi Guys, It's very easy, just do like block31 says BUT with the user name 'Player', pass is '001'. I'm through to create a profile so it seems to be working.

if in doubt open the profile.con (in the profile folder) with 'textEdit and see what the username is, mine says 'Player'file.

ciao

just played a couple of rounds, very cool game. luving it

34.Posted by block33 on Sep 02 2008 at 20:03

1RuMMaGe, i got an imac 2 and it works. i'd say (if you already didnt delete it the dmg file) you try to re-install the game.
from my windows-expirience i would just re-install the whole pc, but with mac its more complicated.
just give it a try................
