hey. i tried to run the game after mounting it and i was told i needed to insert disc 2. burnt a copy of that, then it got paste that screen but got stuck on this flickering blue screen saying "media drive error" or some ****, saying t hat once again i needed to insert disc 2. i tried re-inserting a couple of times didn't seem to work. i also tried fiddling with the .ini file and changing the alias settings.
does anyone have any solution?

hmm, i really dont know... maybe you dont have the requirements (i reallly, really doubt it thogh)
Minimum System Requirements
• Mac OS 8.6 or higher
• Power PC G3 233 MHz or higher
• 128 MB RAM
• 3D Acceleration not required
Here is exactly what i did:
mounted disk 1, installed, mounted disk 2, started game, thats what i did.
Try turning graphics down IF you can, just a suggestion...
NOTE: For anyone wondering, you dont need to burn disks, unless you want to, will work if you just mount disk.

i dunno yeah apparently the mounting doesn't work. yeah i definitely have the minimum requirements. are you running it through classic or os x? i've tried both and i just get to this screen and it says "insert disc 2 into the drive. press escape to abort". i was reading on some other site a way to apparently get around having a CD and it says you can fool the game into getting data from the hard drive by fiddling with the baldur.ini file. i think i did that successfully but when i try open the game it says "Programmer says: Unable to Open BIF:data:MISSound.bif". duno what that's about i certainly have that file.
any other suggestions?

Im running OSX (10.5), i dunno, it should get past the "insert disk 2" screen if you mount it, or put in the burnt disk, try this: mount the .dmg file with toast titanium 9 (if you still have it).
I am going to try something els, il update you if i find anything.
Oh ya, anyone els having this problem?

Ok, i figured it out, im not sure if burning works, but i tried it, and if you mount it normally it dosnt work, but what you need to do is mount it with toast titanium (8 or 9), which you can download here on mininova.
How tyo mount with toast:
Right click on BG II.dmg file, go: open with and choose Toast titanium, then click "mount".
That should work.

Instructions for burning a disk that works!
1. mount a BG II.dmg with Toast titanium 9 (whichever disk you want to burn).
2. after that, on the toast titanium window, click the "data" tab, and choose "Mac Only".
3. Drag the mounted BG II.dmg file into Toast titanium window (it should appear to be a disk on the desktop).
4. Click the Big red burn button, on the lower right corner of the window.
5. Click "Record", and insert a disk.
6. wait till its done, then it should work!

Are you ****en serious? It is mac. As in Macintosh. Apple. Makers of ipod and shiny expensive silver laptops. Of course it won't work on XP. How does somebody not know what mac is in this day and age? They have one of the biggest marketing campaigns there is.
That is as stupid as trying to play and Xbox game is a Playstation.

Mac is a totally different operating system then windows, so it wont work, in fact its a whole different, better computer.

After trying to play the game for a long time i finally gave up and downloaded it for Windows and finished it without problems in Boot Camp.

I have tried using the above instructions to burn a disk, but whether I use a disk or mounted .dmg file, disk 3 will not work. Everything installed ok (and I did full installs) and I could play the game fine up until I have to use disk 3.
****.
It ****s because I actually own the entire BG saga for Windows. I miss my pc.

lol, I didn't know that this site censors PG words like p_o_o_p and s_u_c_k_s.

I had the same problem as gowithasmile, except mine won't really start at all. The install seems to work fine, but then it won't run.
