Yeah if I remember right there was a trojan in the file or maybe that was another one... Anyways I installed CIV4 and the expansions yesterday and they all worked fine but today I went to play it and on the expansions it says "Wrong CD inserted, please insert the correct CD" so I reinstalled the expansions and put the cracks on and it still says that! But Civ 4 still runs fine, it's just the expansions.

you said that you had problems with the expansions. if that's the case, can i just download the civ4.iso and the civ4.exe? or is it required that i download all of them?

can someone please help me i downloaded just the civ4.iso and the exe and read me files. i've followed the instructions in readme skipping the patches but when i click on the launch civ 4 it says "The procedure entry point_BinkShouldSkip@4 could not be located in the dynamic link library bink232.dll"

Okay.. as far as skipping the expansions i and just installing civ4 i had no problems. I burned the iso with nero8 and installed and i used the crack found on the disk/ISO image. Im running vista and it seems to have "known compatability issues" but it seems to fun fine.
@dyoysdadyosa try reinstalling?

i did and i googled it and saw that there are some people who are having the same problem. so i downloaded the binkw32.dll that said can solve the problem of binkshouldskip,replaced it with the one i have in civ4 folder and now i got the problem "The procedure entry point_BinkSetVolume@12 could not be located in the dynamic link library binkw32.dll"
this just makes me wanna buy the game instead of dl it =P

I found it worked fine for the normal game of Civ 4, but not the expantions. The only way I could get BTS to work was to not install the patch and use the crack found on the ISO file.
As for all the .dll problems I found that copying the .dll files in your civilization 4 folder and moving them to your system folder in the Windows folder got rid of them but for me it made the game give the old "an error has occured windows will have to shut down the program..etc"

criminale: i dont know specifically about this...cuz i have not yet downloaded it....but most games like this...after you download, and install...either a. you can just run it or b. you need something like daemon tools to emulate it. Daemon tools emulates ...in other words, makes your computer think you have the disk in there. All games that I have downloaded (that actually work) do one or the other. Usually the bigger games like this, you need the emulator.

I have downloaded the torrent it is clean so do not worry about that.
My only problem is that the expansions Beyond The Sword does not install for some odd reason.
I do own the original copy of Beyond the Sword, and that was does not work either (This is why I wanted to torrent this in the first place).
If anyone knows how to fix this please tell me.

If you are getting an error similar to this when you try to launch the game..
"The procedure entry point_BinkSetVolume@12 could not be located in the dynamic link library binkw32.dll"
I fixed this problem by downloading and installing the Civilization IV v1.74 Patch.
You can get it from here:

If it still doesn't work then go to gamecopyworld . com and download the v1.74 no cd .exe file and replace the .exe in the installation folder.

Yes its completely virus/trojan free.
I downloaded it and installed it following the instructions from the readme file but it didnt work. I have windows vista home premium and when i try to launch civilization iv or warlord expansion it says that is not compatible with windows vista and it wont start, the only one that worked was beyond the sword but everytime i try to start a game it crashes to the desktop.
when i installed civ4 it asked me to install directx 9c but i have directx 10 so i didnt do it. may be thats part of the problem? if i click ok directx10 will be replaced?

45# try to install the game using the run as so run as xp in property's in the setup file see if that works it does for most similar problems

I installed and get the Bink.dll error others have gotten. I am not new at this. I downloaded and installed patch 1.7.4, and got the new EXE from gamecopyworld and that didn't work. I downloaded a new Bink.dll file and replaced it in the game directory and that didn't work. I still get Bink error. Anyone else have any ideas? Thanks guys. I will keep looking and trying and post if I get a result.

I cannot install 
. I already had the original Civilization IV so I only downloaded the expansions. When I run the setup of the warlords it tells me that Civilization IV is not installed properly. I reinstall but no luck.

Does this work with BtS version 3.17? I've been playing, but any time I try to install the patch, I've got to uninstall/reinstall BtS. But, I'm not the best at this sort of thing.

for all vista just install directX9.0c it wont override 10 but some older games won't work without 9.0 because the can't work with 10 it's a problem form directx that didn't put in 9.0 support
