they cancelled the show to make more ***** on the upcoming movies, if the show goes down, the movies goes down, so they think it's better to cancel a working show rather than a deceiving one..

Sci-Fi didn't cancel the show because of ratings. SGA is still one of their highest rating shows.
They want to sell DVDs and make a new Stargate (Universe) but have a younger cast and have it reach a younger audience.

Thank you for the episodes every week. However, I am ******* ****** that I read that they are canceling the show. That makes me mad. I know all shows can't exist for a long time. But, if SG-1 can go on for 10 seasons, So can Atlantis. People, sign the petition. They took Family Guy of the air for 2 and a half years, but they are now making new episodes.

Thnx as always for the quick and great upload, eztv. You guys rock! Sad to see this show is coming to an end, but, hey, 5 years it's a good run. That should be about 100 episodes or so. I believe you can go into syndication after 100 episodes.
SG-1 and SGA have had their fair share of boring episodes, but that doesn't take away the fact that they've been great shows. And the SG Universe will never die. I wish American shows were more like British shows, for example, Doctor Who. Doctor Who has been around since 1963, despite a 15 or so year hiatus until it made its triumphant return w/ a vengeance in 2005. The good thing about having a 13-episode season, as opposed to the 20+ episode seasons of American shows, is that you can use your budget more wisely on the 13 ep. season.

Make sure the Soapies are made well and on time, have all the reality shows like BIG BLUBBER and a few other nasties but NEVER allow a good show to continue, makes FAR too much sense.

the show prolly got canceled cause of writers that can't keep the series more serious instead of jumpin around doing part 2 episodes from 3 seasons ago.

SciFi has a bad habit of canceling good shows. It's something I've come to expect of them now. They must have found something that works with this recipe because they keep doing it, over and over.
It's very frustrating and it does not encourage me to get interested in other SciFi series because I know they will be canceled when I am enjoying them the most.
Honestly, after last season I could have seen them canceling SGA. But this season the writing has been significantly better. At times I've felt like it was written by Doctor Who writers! But, alas, with success come cancellation... at least on the SciFi network.
Very disappointed to hear this news.

But yeah like earlier poster's stated two movies are in the works, and stargate universe has gottent he green light. Thought it will differ from the original series i still believe that it has tons of pontential. What makes me sad is that for some who don't know this season of stargate atlantis is going to get sooooooooo much better. Since they're going to run the series continously until it's finale in december, we won't have to wait to see well... if you want to know find out for yourself but if you know what's coming HELL YA! i say.

What!!! I cant believe they are cancelling the show. I also have heard that they are doing a 3rd series called stargate universe and that they are going to have younger actors so they can try and capture a youger audience. Well to MGM and scifi..... STICK IT UP YOUR REAR.... After being faithful fans and enduring 10 years of stargate and 4 of atlantis, I hope it bombs.... Thats Nuclear..

For me, Stargate ended on season 8 of original series. Atlantis and everything after those seasons were just mediocre, carried on the popularity of series and huge production budgets. Truth is, they just burned out, no more good ideas, no more interesting plots and the like... and as for "universe", well they're going to drain the series for ***** as long as it's worth a single dollar... and the "young public" is the best place for just that. (not to offend anyone ^^)
Time to wait for new Scifi gem like SG, hopefully made by people with a lot of new great ideas.
As for the petition, no way I'm going to sign it. What's done is done, as for the plot, I'm sure if they won't change some of the last episodes, we will have some proper movie launched later on.
Was good, time to move on.

First the disturbing ending of episode 5 followed by the heart-wrenching episode 6. Now they are cancelling the series. I'm depressed.
