Worked great for a few days, then it becomes "unregistered" again... tried to "register" (keygen), but now it says "Registration Failed"! =/
Is there anything I can do?

great video converter... love it man... at last i have convertered my rmvb files.... hope it wont turn to unregistered like the v3.1 ... i did turn off the update hope it work not turning it to unregistered...

Even if you blocked the connection to the net, the program will connect to the server and turned unregistered again

got unregistered su***nly in the middle of a conversion process!!!was working great for a month.had disabled updates...anyone got a clue how to make this work again(have tried other keygens also).thanks.

i didnt get this yet, but after reading the comments i had a suggestion.
Does anyone who installed the program and then got unregistered have Peer Guardian running or any kind of ip logger? if you could find out and report the IP that it connects to for updates, than you could add that IP to you PG2 block list and/or edit windows host file to point that address back at local machine. i think ill try it and see if it works. :]

To avoid getting "unregistered", block or redirect this IP, 72.51.34.177 (port 443)

I managed to get it to register but when i try to convert an RMVB format to avi i get nothing and help? i had tried with 3.1.1 but that one only converted the first 5 min only.

I only did this in vista, so I am unsure of other operating system.
Here is what I did:
1) Don't uninstall the programs. Stay calm.
2) Permanently crippled the application internet access
i. Go to Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Windows Firewall with Advance Security
ii. Click "Outbound Rules" on the left pane
iii. Click "new rules" on the right panel
Select Program, press next
Select This program path, browse and find vc5.exe, press next
Select Block the connection, press next
check all, press next
Put in the name and description which u can understand, press finish and you are done.

Okay, I've tried another technic cos I realise even without internet access (cable unplugged), it can still detect I am using a unregistered version.
Here's what I did, works both in XP and Vista.
1) Open your notepad.exe
2) copy and paste the below text BETWEEN the ******
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Xilisoft\HD Video Converter\RegInfo]
"Name"="Wayne C."
"Serial"=""
"Code"="11 B1 48 86 35 CC F5 CC 80 81 EE F2 D9 CA DD 35 49 DC 31 5D C4 D9 25 DD 46 C9 62 A2 D6 F9 E9 6C 8F B7 2D A2 AE 9 DC "

3) Save the file as a .reg file.
4) Double click on the file, Vista will prompt you whether you are sure, just click yes.

I've installed the app successfully. However, every time I try to convert a .swf files to .mp4 (I haven't tried other conversions, since that is my desired target format), the app defaults an to audio-only conversion process.
Can anyone explain what is going on? I have Final Codecs 2008 installed with almost every codec (including mp4, amidst others), so I suspect that is not the problem. (Perhaps something is being misdirected during the installation process? It's almost as though the app cannot 'see' codecs it needs--but I could be mistaken, since I have no idea about the inner workings of the app [I design systems, software AV apps not being a specialty of mine].)

w a brain! Dont you humpty dumty realise the build version has been changed after it automatically update. Uninstall, clean reg & reinstall to the uploader's original build Xilisoft HD Video Converter 5.0 Build 0715 NOT Xilisoft HD Video Converter 5.1.2 Build 0829. And finally block the vc5.exe and update.exe from firewall.

i have downloaded 5 torrents of this software, and none work.
the software works but the keys ****s....
if i enter the key offline, it says cannot connect to server.
there must be a trick to do this, not only using the keys from keygen.

It's working. Scaned with Kasperky Internet Security 8 - no problem. Very good program if you want to keep your music videos in HD formats. Or, for movies, if you have a big hard drive.
