The first problem is caused due to logging on Steam servers. The second problem is probably either because your ping time is too or you are logging into private servers. You should stall other internet activities while playing and try using public non-Steam servers.

Oh man, I'm just so fuucking tired of this. Let me explain a little:
There are 2 ways to play this game on-line:
1- Through Steam system which is protected against illegal copys.
2- Through the non-Steam original system which has a weaker protection and seems to work fine on some cracked clients and servers.
If you have the standard version (non-Steam), you are most likely to be able to play on-line on non-Steam servers without a problem whatsoever.
That is UNLESS you connect to non-Steam servers. Remember that non-Steam servers are shown in the servers list as well as normal servers and they couldn't be separated. Try and find the non-Steam servers through the net and add them to the favorites list.

It doesn't have to be non-dedicated, you can connect to it from your own PC, just use the dedicated server shortcut in your Counter Strike 1.6 start menue program group, start a server and connect to it through the corresponding port and IP.

Ok I have installed and having no problems playing the game I do have one question. Why does the weapon always start out in my left hand ?
I have tried changing the weapon placement in the advanced settings several time however no joy. Not that its that big of a deal it just wierd.

I said the Steam won't work and I don't have a CD key for it.
And for milosbeli and ashik_kickass: If you're using Windows Vista, I have to say there's a problem with the whole Vista thing... Though it might work by chance, if not, then I have no idea.

I think you should enter the registry entry in the game's main folder which is, I think, RegSetup.reg.

This is a bit tricky on Vista, some users say it works fine and some claim otherwise. And about SXE Injected, I don't know. I don't think it's friendly to SXE.

I've windows vista ultimate with 2 GB Ram on my laptop. Whenever I start this game the color format changes and the GUI goes into a very bad shape. Well the bad thing is the game doesn't start after that. Finally everytime I have to stop it from task manager. Any solutions???

@120: No, I don't know what's wrong (maybe bad Vista config?).
@121: I said Start menu program group in the Windows, not in the game. (Start -> All Programs -> Counter-Strike 1.6 -> Dedicated Server)
@122: There are enough maps here to fail a whole seamester! 
@123: I have had that report a couple of times and don't have the solution for that.
@124: The Vista is not supported by this version, although it might run sometimes.
@125: That depends on your network configurations.

You should choose LAN on the "Network" list if you're not connected to the internet, I think. Those "couldn't exec" errors are not important.

OMG fast DL but I have a problem.. It wont work on my PC. I am using a windows vista 32-bit.. It just won't work. All that happens is that when I try to run the program, my PC just tells me that "The program stoped working"

I mean the maps like de_dyst,de_aztec,cs_assault these ones always have bots but I can't play with bots in the maps like fy_iceworld,awp_india... how can I add bots to those maps??

Hi, I need help people... I have been playing this game online and on Lan with no problems but now my game keeps crashing.
If i join a map on lan, interet or even create it my self, it crashes right when i have to click "OK".
There is no error, nothing. Nothing happens, i cant select ok and move on. I tried tapping on Enter before right before the game starts, but i only reach to the point i have to select Ct Or terrorist.

the game's only five ***** on steam guys. the torrent works great though.

ok my ping is my connection..wireless so i had to plug in to the router and dropped ping by 200fps..other than that works great when i can find a good server.the servers that came with it i get booted alot or cant join but i found a server list that has help and been using a couple servers off gerena. (url removed) just paste the servers to your favorites and play.

Hi i have this problem. I have installed the game perfectly and it loads and everything. But when i start a new server to play with bots it loads the server goes to the first screen. But it gets stuck there. I cannot press ok and go into the game to select teams and so on. The game gets stuck there i have to use ctrl alt dlt to exit.
Its wierd. i run vista and ihave specs to run the game. Please help me !

pls help me...i installed it correctly but when i double-click on cs.exe icon nothing happens...then i try to change game on half life..*** goes to counter strike..***arts loading a new game and then exits the game..*** wont go to the internet also...when try it i get kicked because i have no server entry..***S HELP!!!
