FYI Australia is a democracy.
If the people are against the government should not implement it.

That Conroy guy is a real ****head. No one owns the internet. Why doesn't he just leave it alone. I can't stand all this supervision. I am a parent but I am more concerned about my childs right to freedom than any unsavoury sites they may stumble upon. I am confident I am bringing them up correctly. I don't need some ******bag telling me how to raise my kids.

It will not be long before someone visits ya house in the morning to tell you you what to eat, what to wear, what time to make love ( once every two weeks between headaches :o) ) errrrrrm where was I.... oh YES.... Use your vote... stand and be counted... DONT VOTE FOR EM !!!! and make it clear to them that is what you are going to do.

I Totally agree Ill vote for the raveing looney party or the bikers Free Australia Party before I let My Democratic freedom to see what others think on any given subject without censorship is My Right as a Free Man and not a slave to a government or religion no wonder they have been taking Australian's rights away To Defend it self with arms against a Police State. Yet Criminals still have Guns just that citizens don't.
On a side note a lot of those evil rock spiders are caught through the internet they will still be out there but harder to set up and sting.

Australia used to be a penal colony, seems that the government hasn't changed it's views about their citizen after all those few hundred years, quite sad.

I just think this is a sledgehammer approach rather a scalpel, and it impacts everyone connecting to the internet.
Many people are against this but the government seems hell bent on implementing it.

For everyone's info : Iam an Australian, and there is not even a suggestion of the government controlling what internet content we choose to log onto !....we have a new govt. that is determined to make high speed broadband available to the majority of citizens, and is not into controlling what we do !
This is probably some spammer, who'll send you a virus so you cant do anything !

Bassist, I'm Australian too. You're wrong, mate.

Remove the spaces in that link to read the news article, or simply google for "Australian internet censorship". It's very real, and very scary.

bassist get reading mate cause its going to happen. Rather than improve already lagging speeds this filter it will hamper it.
This is an affront to the only pure form of freedom we have today.

Bassist et al:
I live in Oz too, although I also have a home in Portugal and share my time between them and it is obvious to blind freddy that this fruitbat 'Conroy' and some poor dumb misguided bible thumping puritans want to censor what we see.
I don't like child **** and I support those who do it being busted - no argument there, but that is beside the point. There are mechanisms in place to trap these psychos.
ANY Net censorship is NOT ON. NO WAY KNOWN.
I will fight it like a ****ing terminator, I will spread (like butter) info on bypass techniques to noobs and I and others will stop this nonsense COLD in it's tracks.
They want a fight?
:-) okay
Bring it on down slugger - we'll play.

yeah this idea is ****. looks like my internet usage could get alot cheaper. hopefully the test IP customers will write letters telling them to look for other customers. what about students neading to research a subject that has been blocked. WAN-KERS!

**** this! biggest load of **** ever, and I voted for these ****s! going to write an angry letter now. at least comforting to know that even if the scheme is implemented I'll be able to get around it easily. still it's ****ed as anything that there doing this when overwhelmingly people are saying that they really, really don't want it.
Thanks heaps for putting this out there by the way, gotta make sure people get informed. will seed for ages.

I wonder if there will be a black market for uncensored internet connections if this enacts.
