Socialism is collective slavery and state coercion.

Libertarianism is the way to go.

I'm sorry, did someone ask for your opnion on socialism? since when did torrent sites become a forum for political commentary? mininova/the pirates bay are not sites for arguements but are places where people have free access to information- hopefully without the intrusion of people's personal opinons. Its one thing to comment on the quality of a torrent and quite another to attack someone's personal view. Do us all a favor and go chat on ******* and leave your fanatic views out of here.

PS, you should probably read these torrents since socialism has never been about coercion or slavery as you put it. I myself am not a socialist but i am also not for a purely captialist society. both systems, if theyare not flexible to new ideas, are capable of the most greatest of evils

Where did you read that ignorant bull****?

I recommend you to read Mises and Friedman

Actually socialism is responsible for for about 175 million deaths in the last century and destroyed more wealth than anything else, and it promotes the same where ever it is tried. Communism is about another 120 to 150 million in the past century. It has kept over a 1 billion people from living their lives with out state supervision for the past 60 years. Government should never have the ability to do this and that is pretty close to slavery. Only a truly cruel person would promote socialism in any form. Capitalism is the most perfect form of social organization that any man has ever created. It alone even in it's most restrained form has given us more wealth and advancement in 200 years than the past 5000.

Just to let you Americans know, you already practice socialism, your police, firefighters, librarys, schools and armed forces are all forms of socialism or perhaps you would prefer all the above to become capitalist entities where you would privatise them and for example get charged per crime or fire to your personal account.
A purely capitalist, socialist or communist society cannot succeed.Plus dont believe everything blindly thats how wars start.

'Capitalism is the most perfect form of social organization that any man has ever created. It alone even in it's most restrained form has given us more wealth and advancement in 200 years than the past 5000.'

Interesting - but false.

It is the mechanical and industrial revolutions which are responsible for the enormous increase in material wealth over the last two centuries. These revolutions were driven by engineers, mechanics and other technicians - not businessmen and financiers.

No wars start when men believe that is the only way they can achieve their goals. And your right we do have quite a socialist system in place for most of our public services, it is called unions(and you can see what it did for Detroit). Some states do have private prisons and they do better than the public run ones and cheaper too. WE have been dealing with the socialist creep since around 1900 or so, and it has harmed us greatly. We are doing better than most though, who have embraced socialism completely, like Venezuela. They went from the diamond of South America to a collapsing nation.

'Just to let you Americans know, you already practice socialism'

And one of the sharpest critics of capitalism was also an American:

Thorstein Veblen.

Your comment - No wars start when men believe that is the only way they can achieve their goals
IRAQ !!!! (the lie that ****** was involved with **** for example)

Unions
Unions lifted people out of virtual slavery, safety at work, healthcare (which when run as a business puts USA at 37th,in W.H.O. ranking even below Colombia),pensions, vacation time ETC.were all gained by unions.

As stated before you need a mixture of all for a successful society

11.Posted by mulberryinfinity on Apr 05 2009 at 08:17

Unions are capitalist entities that care only for themselves and their members. The same is true for communism, a system designed by a selfish-protectionist party greedy for power, truly communism is a misnomer for more capitalism. ..not true capitalism, mind you, which could only exist in a state of anarchy and complete lawlessness, in all other systems there is always the risk of selfish and corrupt individuals taking advantage of others. Socialism is merely a moderate center-point between two very similar and very flawed philosophies of politics. Sure there is always the answer in just getting rid of it all. ..but just try that and see what happens...

In America and Britain both were driven by businessmen and financiers. Not to mention inventors, most of whom had no little or NO formal training in engineering. Thomas Edison had loads of people doing most of his experiments for him, 99% of those experiments were failures. Only in a Capitalist society could a man start with nothing build a fortune, loose it because of a mistake, then make another fortune. The founder of the Hershey company failed three times in the candy business before he made something people wanted.

18.Posted by Evil_Overlord on Apr 06 2009 at 03:57

Unions are not capitalist, they are government created MONOPOLIES which is also NOT capitalist. Yes, early on they did make improvements in worker safety and wages, but they had nothing to do with health care benefits. In America Health Insurance was started as a way around Wage and Price controls implemented under the Second Roosevelt (FDR, not TR)administration during WWII. Everyone was restricted in how much they could earn in any given profession so companies started offering other benefits to attract the best workers(pure capitalism, if you can't offer more *****, offer something else people may want). And after the war, it just stayed because that is what it took to keep good people.
