yo the game works with swap magic. only thing is that after the forth lvl or gettin' to the 4lvl the game stays loadin'. laser reaches end of disc tryin' to search more. good thing is that theres this beautiful song u get to play right before it hangs on the load. lol. turn up ur surround. turn up ur guitar a notch and keep band and effect regular and blast that fool. .. oh yea. buy the game. i am. or maybe on dlayer disc hmmmm i'm high. thanx for ups. later.. << still seedin'

i think u get to play between 9 - 12 songs. (it can be 10 or 11 lol) i dind't check the extra songs on the tier cuz i'm tired. still a bad ass game.../..***mo ("is what we should call it"

Guys, so you know, the reason it freezes with Swap Magic is because the disc TOC is too large (Atleast that's what I'm assuming. I made the thing as big as possible and still fit on a DVD5)
I recommend you use Free MCBoot and ESR to launch the game, as it doesn't require disc swapping.

I'm using Swap Magic 3.8 and playing through on drums. So far I have cleared 19 Songs without any problems with it freezing. Although the drums have a different setlist, it includes the first 13 guitar songs.
If I only get two weeks out of this I'll be happy.

Baixei o jogo, criei uma imagem com o Imgburn e depois gravei com este mesmo programa.
Mas na hora de jogar, ele vai pra primeira tela que tem o nome do jogo, a barrinha enche, mas aí não muda de tela e trava!
Será que fiz algo errado?
Já gravei 3x, e não deu certo!

I've downloaded the game, created an image with Imgburn, burned the DVD with this same program.
But when I try to play the game, the first screen appear, that has the name of the game, the bar gets full, but the screen won't change and it gets stuck!
Did I do something wrong?
I've already burned this game 3 times and it didn't work!

Maloca, compra um dvd de melhor qualidade e tenta, mas grava em 4x ao invés de 3x, aqui eu gravei com o Nero, rodou perfeitamente cara.
Você baixou essa imagem? Desse torrent?
Pode ser o seu leitor cara, porque fiz um monte de cópias pros meus amigos, todas rodaram perfeitamente.

Replaces all videos with the Red Octane logo (This cut down a LOT of the size, you will lose any bonus videos though.)

Opa, valeu aí jiva, mas não só diminuiram a qualidade do Master of Puppets. Na verdade foram em todas as músicas. E pensei que tinha tirado o video do fundo nas músicas, mas a qualidade tá ótima dos vídeos. Você sabe se tem como tirar os vídeos que passam durante as músicas? Aí não mexia nas músicas.

Valeu Barri008, sim sim, todas as músicas passaram por um downsample, mas só pra diminuir o tamanho mesmo, nada que comprometa na qualidade, só a Master of Puppets que ficou com volume baixo devido a isso.
Os videos que foram retirados são os das apresentações e vídeos no meio do jogo, acho interessante manter os videos que passam enquanto se toca as músicas.
Mas provavelmente é meio complicado remover aqueles vídeos, pode ser que tenha como fazer um downsample nos vídeos, pra deixar igual o Rockband, que tem os vídeos com uma qualidade podre, mas sei lá.
Eu apenas ripei o jogo com um programa ****to, que já fazia todo o processo de selecionar as músicas e talz. O que eu fiz foi pegar a imagem original em dvd9 e usar este programa pra diminuir ele pra 4.36gb.
Entendo muito pouco dessa parte.

From SM website:
"Swap Magic Boot Discs only have a TOC size of around 4.35GB. But a backup of a Dual Layer game applied with a patch might work."
This game has a TOC of 4.36GB and so may or may not work for you with SM. I've had reports of both.

hoox, If u want to burn an image with 7gb or more, u need a DVD DL, Dual Layer, but this iso have only 4,36gb.

Estou com o mesmo problema do maloca. Gravei a imagem usando o Imgburn e depois da segunda música da abertura no modo carrer o jogo trava. Se for no modo quickplay, tento tocar a música Enter Sadman e tb trava. Gravei com um DVD de boa qualidade em uma velocidade de 2x. Melhora se gravar com uma velocidade de 4x?

Desculpa a demora pra responder.
Pode ser alguma coisa de configuração do ImgBurn, sei lá.
Mas tente o seguinte, compre um dvd, grave no Nero mesmo, na velocidade de 4x.
Aqui, gravei no Nero, várias cópias, nenhuma delas apresentou defeito, ou então travou, todas rodaram perfeitas.
Tenta usar o Nero.
Qualquer coisa, estou a disposição no que puder ajudar.

You need a guitar plugged into controller port 1, you can't use a DS controller. If you are playing drums, make sure to plug your controller into port 2, or your drums into the second USB port. (I'm pretty sure that's how it has to be)

Amigos estou frustrado pois vejo muitos aqui agradecerem e comemorarem... menos eu.
Não sei se estou fazendo errado mas o ps 2 exibiu a tela "impossível ler disco".
Alguém teve algo parecido que possa mne ajudar?
Estou usando Ubuntu 9.04 e queimando com um programa nativo.

Williamnohath, a diferença desta versão pra versão DVD9, é que esta é ripada, sem os vídeos.
Mas apenas isso, a qualidade das músicas sofreu uma leve queda na qualidade, praticamente imperceptível, a não ser na Master Of Puppets, que o volume do áudio foi diminuido também.
Mas o resto está perfeito, é só baixar e gravar em um DVD5.

All of the bonus video content was ripped, and one song was downsampled (You can still play it, it sounds the same, it just takes up less room).

The game works OK... But it has some problems:
-It takes too much time for loading EVERYTHING (songs, caracters, menu...)
-While you're playing, the crowd and the band stops sometimes, or they start going faster or slower... (only the video, not the audio).

- Tarda muchísimo en cargar cualquier cosa (canciones, personajes, los menus...)
- Mientras estás jugando, a veces el público y la banda se paran, o empiezan a ir más rápido o más lento... (solo le pasa al video, no al audio de la canción).

Como o colega acima disse, e eu confirmo, o jogo funciona muito bem, porem com alguns erros
- Demora muito para carregar as coisas (Musicas, Personagens, Menus)
- Enquanto você está jogando, o publico as vezes para, ou começam a ir rapido e as vezes muito lento, porem não interfere em nada com a jogabilidade
- Devo alertar que no meu caso, o Playstation faz barulhos esquisitos, como se estivesse forçando o leitor, talvez seja a midia que estou usando (Elgin), ou agravação não ficou boa, mas vou tentar baixar novamente em outro lugar para ver se observo alguma mudança...

Eu já tentei gravar duas vezes na primeira gravei pelo alcohol 120 com velocidade 4x quando coloquei o jogo pra jogar travou no carregar do inicio.
Na segunda vez gravei pelo nero coloquei o jogo mas a leitura esta muita lenta e quando vou jogar o modo carrera trava logo de cara.
Gostaria de saber se iso esta com problema e porque esta acontecendo isso.

I play with the standard guitar. There's a special guitar for this game, and the tips showed in the game are for that guitar, but you can play perfectly with the standard one

Thanks Jiva, what program did you use to put the iso image onto dvd? I am using imgburn and it gets to 99% before throwing it back saying it failed. Its done it about 6 times now.

Thejudge08, im using Nero to burn the iso.
I don't like so much IMGBURN to burn ps2 games, i never burned a dvd that works fine in that program, otherwise i only can X360 games with IMGBURN..lol
But, try Nero, works fine.

Great download-got it to work by downloading the iso from this site,then patching it with ESR, and burning it to DVD-R using a function in nero express (image,project,copy). Not sure if its NTSC or PAL but its working in Australia!

yeah this works fine, the vieos are taken out, but the songs sem all fine, the lyrics are missing though, even if you select them in the options,which is a shame.but limits when ripping. a good game, im probably going to buy the full version as some good somes i've played so far.

What did I do wrong when my game loads... but has realllly long load times. I thought it was just GHM but I tried to copy a friends GH3 an it does the same thing... all other games I copied are fine. Just the Guitar Hero series. Anyone know whats goin on... I burned it @ 4x with a program called express burn (hasnt failed me yet, I have nero but it gives me an error at the end every time I try to burn it.)

I have burnt copies of all gh games and originals because I use hdloader all of my gh images after a while need to be replaced as after a while they start freezing etc dont know why but esr seems to just work flawlessly no answers but great series of games. Phat Tony

This release is a rip with lots of problems, long loading times, songs can't be selected and background music gets stuck.
This is my fist problem game that I can't play, other GH games load and play without a problem.
Some times rips are full of problems.

abinesh_rocks, this is a rip of DVD9 game, you need to burn using a software like Nero, i've burne with nero in 4x speed and works like a charm on my ps2, i don't have any problems with the game, works fine!
