just realized the subs are hardcoded so it'S probabaly recorded from german television, where is it broadcasted?

Hi there!
I'm german, dont need the subs though . I checked my tv guide, the only german channel showing "iconoclasts" is the "biography channel" on sky. They will be showing the whole season until october, 1 ep. a week.I dont know if the link is working :

I'd love if you could tape some of it, maybe the episode with John Krakauer and Sean Penn? If you record something isnt it already in some format like mpeg/avi? You could just upload it the way it is.
Anyway, i totally understand if you dont wanna do it.
The show has several seasons,I've been loking for it all around, no luck.
Only chance left is to try itunes, dunno if it'll work.
THANK YOU for your upload of the BillMaher/Clive Davis episode, loved it, really great show, only reason it's not hyped is because it's shown on a little known channel like sundance.

it's from the bio channel. i kept the bio I.D. intro so people would know.
the bio channel i have comes out of germany. this is the only program i've noticed that's broadcast in english (no 2-kanalton offered on any other show on bio.)the only upcoming edition in my epg is the one i mentioned above. i don't have sky - i'm not in the UK. i don't have a satellite dish.
my dvd HDD recorder doesn't get digital channels. i have to first record it on my digital cable box and then record it to my dvd HDD recorder, then copy it to a dvd. the raw dvd vob would be like 1GB per hour in LP mode and that's too big, so i encode it into the standard size xvid avi. this is much the same thing that anyone else does, including scene groups.

i'm not doing the entire series. i don't have it and i don't see it being repeated. i only record and share something i think might be interesting that probably won't be done by anyone else. if i do any more editions of it (if it's on tv again) i'll only choose them according to my own taste and only if i think it might be popular enough.

Okay, i see. So, are you from germany ?
As i mentioned it will be on again quite often on the german biography channel according to their TV guide.
Apparently this show has never been released by anyone else, and popularity is always relative.
It's also a question of advertising, isn't it?
In my opinion there can only be one reason it's not been released yet and isn't popular, it's because it is shown on the sundance channel, and not on hbo or showtime.
The concept and the quality of the show itself is great.
To me the highlights of the last, maybe of all episodes were Bill's chats with Oliver Stone and Vidal Gore.
And the concept of Iconocasts supports this form of open dialogue...
And some pairings are pretty promising like Quentin Tarantino and Fiona Apple or Robert Redford and Paul Newman.

This torrent of yours has already 600+ downloads in 9 days, and i guess it will get quite some more when Real time is back and people realize there is something with Bill Maher they dont know yet.
Don't be surprised if more people ask for more now that you got them hooked . Even Bill's 5 minute chat with Wolf Blitzer on CNN has had like 1800 dls so far.
And concerning the size, if it's 1 gb for 1 hour, the show would be appr. 750mb, which is still totally ok imho. The real time releases are 550 mb, so the difference is marginal, expecially in these days where most people have a fast connection. So you could just record it and upload the Vob that would save you a lot of work.
Still i totally get that if you're not a fan of the show it is too much of an effort with the recording and all that.

the "downloads" here only show how many times the torrent file was taken from mininova - not actual downloads of the video. i posted it to three other websites and it's been picked up by many other listing sites. so i don't know how many times the torrent file has been taken, or even the video itself. i put eight trackers into the torrent file, and when it's sc****d by a website or torrent spy, only the first tracker gets sc****d for numbers of seeds. i also add more open trackers into the client after i start seeding, so there's no definite way to know exactly how many people got the video, but i know it's more than 1000.

my bio channel is from germany and there is no other listing for the show other than the final one i mentioned above. if their website says something different i'll have to wait until my epg receives that info.

i think most people don't want a vob, unless it's in a full dvd, so i don't do it. plus, it'll attract less people and take a lot longer to seed. i'm constantly dling and my own dloads have priority. i can't waste time on unpopular files.

i can't connect my cable box or dvd HDD recorder to my pc - but i don't need to do that anyway. my pc is more than 20m away from my tv, and i don't have a scart connection on the pc. i only encode and share when i have a break in dling. i've been doing p2p since the mid-90s, and for me this is the easiest way.

Just so you know guys, Latin American DirecTV shows Iconoclasts regularly. I remember seeing the Eddie Vedder episode, it was great.
(sadly, I don't have any capturing equipment)
