In my opinion the best is that we choose, theses person have choosed to download vlc by torrent. They maybe know that a direct download exist and is perhaps faster (This torrent is supported by mininova so the speed is improved). If not now it is . So let the choice. But you can ask there opinion to videolan

Reasons for direct download....
1) The direct download is faster. They have multiple mirros, so there is no worry about killing the site.
2) The direct download is more likely to be safe. I am not implying that this torrent is infected, but get real... 3rd party distributed -executables- in this day and age?
3) Using torrent for such small files is a bit silly. This is why you see albums on torrent, and individual songs on Sharebee, ****wire, etc.
4) VideoLAN cannot gauge popularity in number of downloads with the torrented copies.

why dont you guys stop complaining about direct dl and use your brain for a minute? such free stuff torrents help mininova avoid being labelled as "pirate torrent website" and no need to mention what will happen if that happens; piratebay -banned in several countries. so either you guys thank the uploader for this or start searching for another clean torrent site which (i believe) doesnt exists.

For those who wish to check: The size of the file should be 17,828,326 bytes. That is from a direct download from their site.

Here's the skinny noobs, when this was upped 24hrs ago the videolan servers WERE getting hammered big time! It WAS actually much faster to grab this than direct then, it was a great up at that time, so quit your whining after the fact until you know what you're talking about!

I need help someone when i have divx player and when i play movies in divx player the monitor goes black and goes into hibernate mode.
