To HamnaIsmail, An arabic name can be spelled in many diffirrent ways. you don't have to be rude to the uploader. So respect the post or don't download it. There are a lot of people who care about there religeon in good manner not like yours.

dude try not to be completely ignorant,
?????? al-qur’?n is not an english word and there fore there is no direct proper spelling for it as it contains sounds that are not part of the english alphabet, as such it can and has been transliterated as Quran, Qur’?n, Koran, Alcoran or Al-Qur’?n.
These are all close approximation of a arabic term into english spelling, more accurately we might simply call it "the recitation" but then you'd likely have no clue about what were talking about,.. which honestly is likely to be the case no matter what we talk about unless its cheese noodles.

i read the quran in 2006 and i converted to islam. i was jewish but i think islam's quran and teachings make so much more sense than any religion i've ever read about.

Religious Council at my country issued a declaration that Al-Furqan (Free English Translation) have too many translation error to the extent the real meaning of it have been distorted. I hope this is not one of it. Anyway thanks to the uploader.

A translation from Rodwell, J. M. (John Medows), 1808-1900, i could be wrong but in those days there were too many orientalists about and they were biased and had distorted view on Islam and Muslims.

if u read the Qur'an you would find it has no flaw, no mistake and no one can ever right anything like it which is one of the miracles that prove it was sent from god. No offense we all know the bible was distorted because there are more than one religion for Christianity or categories, such as catholic and others, Muslim only has 2 Sonni and Shi3a, they do everything the same except sonni do soonan which are things that our prophet used to do on top of what God Ordered, so its just a bonus...
Guys please make sure this Qu'ran is the real deal ive seen scams where they change a word in the Qu'ran, which if we dont take care of could lead to disruption in the religion
Btw the qu'ran hasnt been changed since the angel Jibreel passed it on to Prophet Mohammad (9ala allah 3alyhi wa salam). Anyone who doubts it learn arabic read the Qu'ran and you will find out that there is nothing like it

responding to spectre 39, you are the most ignorant person I have ever heard of. You cannot judge a whole community by the deeds of some fanatics. In order to make such judgement, read the book and then decide. It is true that some fanatics gave a bad image of Islam. You should also read history, remember the dark ages when the church did more that what is done now in the name of Islam.
this is a process of change, and what is happening around the world is normal. many people embraced Isalm for its tolerance, not for its violence. Be wise.

D) It is against our religion to force someone to change his religion, if god wanted everyone to convert to Islam he wouldn't ask us humans to do it he'd just do it but then what the heck will our purpose in this life be. The prophet never ever forced anyone to convert, he had many non-Muslim neighbors who he used to treat with respect, THAT IS ISLAM.
E) We do have tolerance for all religions, but when you know there's a mistake don't you try to correct. im not implying any religion is a mistake, but as religions were passed on THEY WERE DISTORTED. Hence why Christianity has many sub-categories. We respect The real Christianity and prophet Eesah (AKA Jesus), we respect Moosah (AKA Moses) they are very important in Islam.
I would like to ask a christian to send me the Bible, i would like to read it and compare it to our holy book.

well to be a muslim there are 5 things u must do:
1) Testify that there is no god but Allah and that Mohammad is his prophet
2) Pray 5 times a day (Fajr,Dohr,Asr,Maghreb,Ishaa)
3) Donate 2.5% of what you make to charity (Zakat)
4) Fast in Ramadan Month
5) Going to Haj In Mekah
It is up to god in the end, you will never know you might go to heaven even though you dont pray, but if you do know about it and u just ignore it it is taken as a sin, so why not just do it (its only 5 mins from 24 hours!) and make sure u got a one way ticket to Heaven

no allmac ask watever is on ur mind, but my answer is wat if u god forbid die by a car accident or a heart attack...you wont see it coming therefore you wont have the time to regret, my advise is try praying i used to not pray thinking its too hard...but after u get used to it it becomes something u would do without knowing...ull just get up and do it and be done in 3 mins

This is not a proper translation of the Qur'an, rather it is an attempt to distort it.
If you are truly sincere in wanting to read the Qur'an, I suggest you get a copy from your local Mosque or Islamic institution. You should be given one free of charge.
The best translation is probably the Dr Muhsin Khan translation.
Those muslims thanking the uploader or even giving any sort of gratitude to this ebook, I suggest you read first, before you comment. There are many mistakes in the introduction of the book as well as the translations.

@allmac, by Islamic belief, all who believe in ONE Creator and recognize themselves as His creations eventually go to heaven. If they go to hell first and the amount of time they stay there depends on how good terms they are with God. To be on good terms with God is not only doing good deeds in this life (although that helps a LOT) but also showing Him that you remember Him, that you're thankful for your existance, and that you respect Him and are in AWE of Him for creating the universe and every little detail within it with absolute perfection.

Imagine giving a homeless person a fully equipped villa and everything they would need for the rest of their lives, only to have them totally forget you and ignore your very existance. U'd expect at least for them to say thanks, and talk nicely about u to others. What God gave us humans is more than a villa with a plasma tv, He gave us LIFE, self-consciousness, intellgence, and even instructions on how to live life happily and end up in heaven at the end. So if we acknowledge His existance and His messengers and their messages, then we don't really have an excuse.
Likewise, for people who have been doing bad deeds all their life but show regret at the end, only God knows their sincerity and what is true justice, but by our human logic, its likely that they would spend a fair amount of time in hell. And that is a place where you dont want to be for a minute... hell, you dont even wanna see hell!

You don't need religion for that, lots of people are lined up and willing to lie to you just for a small fee, a tax free donation, or the deed to your house.

I believe in a life as a Atheist. I am not afraid and even in my death bed I will probably stay an Atheist.
Some questions you could think about:
Who created the creater?
Why are religious people like you talk so hateful?
Do you think this world is a series of mistakes? I don't.
Do you have evidence that science is abolishing religions? Give me names...
Science is searching for facts, but a real scientist knows that in this quest we will find probably very few facts.
In the holy books we find a lot of facts. Therefor a lot of people love religions. It gives people security.
The question is, do you want the quest or security?
Anyhow, no hard feelings to you.
If you want to believe, stay in that believe but let other religions or atheist believe what they want.

The problem with the 'believe and let others believe' is that it only works if none of the parties involved actually 'truly believe'.
If you believe some one is on fire you kind of obligated to throw a bucket of water on them if they believe they're burning or not. So it follows if you really believe you know 'the truth' then aren't you obligated to correct the mistakes of others?, especially when your belief is that their mistakes are significant as eternally burning in hell, or whatever.

Yes the vast majority of religious people simple want to believe that they are right, to have the certainly of righteousness, with out thinking to carefully what the actual details of their belief actually mean. But if we are to accept that these beliefs are actually about reality not just some panacea we sooth our sore egos with, little white metaphysical lies to help us cope with the days, then the fact that they contradict each other is significant.
It would be nice if all these crazy superstitious people would just admit they're fantasizing, .. but unfortunately allot of them actually believe that they're not.

Please understand I realize my above statement does a huge disservice to the history and "deeper" understanding of religious thoughts on the nature of belief, myth, meaning and truth.
I used rather simplistic definitions of these concepts rather than the deeper more nuanced versions that have been often used by the great religious scholars thru out the centuries of actually very useful and insightful religious philosophy, scholarship and discourse but the reason I did so is that we must talk about the nature of religious thought and understanding on the level we most commonly find it, and how it is by the vast majority expressed not what we might wish it might aspire, and as comments on this page have shown that view is quite simplistic.

and please understand I'm not promoting throwing bucket of water on everyone, more that I'm promoting an reexamination of belief systems that might lead you to walking down the street pass people who appear to you to be quite happily burning away. If you accept that these people do not appreciate being drenched in water, and react quite negatively to it, as anyone who matures in a modern society must generally do, maybe one must begin to suspect that the flames themselves may be illusionary in nature.

Charles Darwin only observed and came to a conclusion, his theory of survival of the fitest.
He observed how people improved horses, sheep, cows, dogs by selection.
Look at the famous arabic horses, sheep with more wool, cows that give more milk or more meat and look at the various dogs that came from the wolves. He just thought that thes rules also could apply to biology and if you ask me, I think too.
His goal was never to destroy holy books.
I absolutly dislike the media and I agree with you that they create a lot of stereotypes.

If you ask me, the big bang is part of a continuous cycle of time energy mater and space. There was never a beginning and there will never be an ending. It's like the moon cycle. But everytime we start a with new moon on a somewhat different place in the sky.
We probably are now in the middle of such a cycle.
Death is part of life. I love life and I love people to live, but people also die.
The loved ones stay in your hart and it always hurts.
Therefor we should make each other happy, not killing each other.

brothers and Sisters,after reading the introduction given by the author in the book,I would STRONGLY recommend NOT downloading this particular copy of the "Quran".
I have enough reasons to be suspicous of the Genuinity of this copy.
I think it should first be verified by a well known scholar of Islam before being massly downloaded...

Unbelievable. On one torrent from this uploader, there are people who claim that the moon landings were faked. Yet, we have PROOF that humans have been there. Videos, moon rocks brought back, mirrors left on the moon so we can bounce lasers off them...PROOF!
But, here on this torrent, NO PROOF. Just a belief in something UNPROVEN. Words from centuries old, uneducated men (relative to what we know now), passed along and mutated for the benefit of the storytellers. Any holy book should be taken for what it is. A storybook. Parables used to teach communal lessons. NOT THE WORD OF GOD. The word of men.

exactly my thoughts! a century ago, there were too many orientalists around. i suppose many of them were just misled out of ignorance. i request all those who are not muslims to learn islam, only from the muslims and no one else.
i remember when i was a child i read this biography of the Prophet by a christian missionary and the way he lied in that book is so terrible.
If you would like a decent transalation of the Quran.. i suggest you try googling for marmaduke pickthall or sahih international which is known to be the most accurate transalation. muhsin khan is also good and easy to read.
