i've had the same problem, but then i looked at google.
right-click on your max-payne-desktop-icon. at "target" you write (behind the url) "-skipstartup" (like "C:\Program Files\Max Payne\Max Payne.exe" "-skipstartup"
. then you start the game and it works!

Guys help me here ! please! after i install it ... it asks for the max payne installation folder . I have it for exemple , after unarchived , on j/games/payne1/maxpayne . And after i put this path into the browser , it says to me that it doesnt exists ((((((((((((((( help me plz

Works perfect for me, i extracted the files from the image using PowerISO and installed it like normal, updated it and added the No CD patch, works fine.

Hey the Game works fine loaded it with the latest Daemon tools installed the patch then copied the cracked file over the .exe Bingo its PAYNE TIME!!!!

cut through with PowerISo

For those who have problem in windows vista 64 bit use setup.exe in Disk 1 folder to install. And if the game crashes then download latest patch (1.05) from

you dont have to patch/crack it if you do

listen just follow these steps:
-mount the biggest file(i used daemon tools)
-install the game
-install the patch
-play
its tht ezy whts rong with u ppl who cant play it.

Ok can someone please help me?
I burned the .ccd file to a cd with CloneCD
Installed the game properly
Installed the patch and then replaced the .exe file with the cracked version
Then when I go to play, it plays the intro movie but while it loads the game, it stops loading and displays this message...[img]http://i34.tinypic.com/2concqg.jpg[/img]

ok im realy upset iv spent hours tryna fix this iv installed twice now. i install the game then the patch and wen i try the fixed EXE is says Execptation in startupint: directory \data not found and when i try emulating on daemon tools it cant read the image pleas help i rely want this

I tried to mount the .ccd image with daemon tools, but then it says that the file is not compatible with my Vista 64bits version.
Is there another way to install the game with a 64 bits version?

Why make it complicated guys, it so easy, works perfect in XP, NOT sure with Vista....
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Extract "Max.Payne.[2001].rar" (Using latest Winrar or 7zip.)
2. Mount ".img" file located "Max Payne CloneCD Image" folder.
(Use UltraISO, Daemon Tools,etc to mount, Or burn it.)
3. Explore the drive, Run "Install.exe" to begin full installation.
4. After Installation, Run "maxpayne1-05patch.exe" to patch.
(located in "Max Payne Patch + Crack" folder)
5. Then, Extract "MaxPaynev1.05NoCDFixedexeEng.rar";
Copy "MaxPayne.exe", Paste it to Game Directory, Overwriting!
6. Play!
(If still have problems, check system requirements, and OS Compatibilty like of Vista 64bit..<<it so buggy..im contented with XP)

i have unziped the archive, i've used deamon tools to mount image, installed successfuly, but when i type "new game" it gives me a "don't send" error...

I'll teach to install this game...let's go!
1 - First have to download the game in this torrent;
2 - Have in your computer the progam POWERISO (link to donwload = http://www.mininova.org/tor/2043752)
3 - Unzip with WINRAR in any folder;
4 - look for the file "Max Payne CloneCD Image.img" and mount on POWERISO;
5 - Automatically will open the installation, just click install;
6 - Install the pach, that comes in the folder "Max Payne Patch + Crack" the the name's pach is "maxpayne1-05patch.exe";
7 - And for end go to the folder of installation and replace shortcut created by the first.

while installing it shows u dont have enough memory ram...(96mb)
but i have 3 gb ram and 2 ghz proceesor...

just extract the .ccm or somthing file and just install and replace the crack..*** will work.also on vista 32 bit...but some sound errors
