I can't get it to install on Mac OS X (10.6) either. How did you go about installing it? Clicking InstallforMacOSX pops up authentication then quits right after.

it is easy, just click install and it will start by itself. then copy S.N # and then click next. that is what I did.
good luck

I'm trying to install the software from the "InstallForMacOSX" icon but it doesn't work.
Anyone can help me? Thanks.

soniclomba - you need to change the java settings from 64-bit to 32-bit for the activation then switch it back after you activate the license. This is according to mathworks website. I just did it and it works perfectly. To do this go to Applications/Utilities/Java Preferences then switch the 2 options so 32-bit is on top, exit out then try to run matlab again and it should all work (will be asked for the license file). Enjoy! Works great for me now and also don't forget to switch back to 64-bit mode is what Mathworks says.

Hey, so I tried the 32-bit java thing and still no luck. Any thoughts?

This one worked great for me, fedora 11, 64 bits, after a bit of work updating some libraries that were keeping the installer from starting.

Thanks for a good and hard to find upload!
