cant i post dis in here
The manual way
1. Insert your USB flash drive.
2. Hit WIN+R, type cmd and click OK.
3. Type diskpart and hit ENTER
4. Type list disk, hit ENTER and identify the disk number for your USB flash drive. You MUST be very sure of this or else you’ll be formatting the wrong drive later on. If you have only one hard drive, then normally your USB flash drive will be disk 1.
Diskpart List Disk
5. Type select disk 1 and hit ENTER
6. Type clean and hit ENTER
7. Type create partition primary and hit ENTER
8. Type select partition 1 and hit ENTER
9. Type active and hit ENTER
10. Type format fs=fat32 and hit ENTER
11. Type assign and hit ENTER
12. Type exit and hit ENTER
13. Insert the Windows 7 installation DVD disc and copy everything from the DVD to your USB flash drive.
14. Boot up your computer with USB flash drive. You will need to go into your BIOS and make sure it is set to boot from flash devices. If you got it right, the Windows 7 installation should load from your USB flash drive.
The auto way

Hi There
Yes the Diskpart method works however might be complex and confusing to average users. Messing about with partitions etc. Plus it is not a GUI interface.
This method uses a GUI and creates a bootable USB for Vista / 7 in 3 easy steps.

At which part do you get disk read error?
Reading the .ISO or copying to USB?
Check your .ISO file or get another one.

Wrong BIOS setting?
Try USB Drive, USB FDD or just the USB as an HDD

Need to confirm your BIOS actually supports booting from USB
23.Posted by datarunner (torrent uploader) on Nov 14 2009 at 20:09
What happens when you test via MobaLiveCD and select Run Live USB?
24.Posted by Torretje on Nov 14 2009 at 20:25
also check ww****boot.org if you need a e.g. windows xp embedded os on an usb stick/hdd that you plug in to 'any' pc and can update, surf the net or do some recovery. you just need the chipset and nic software of the alien pc

can you UPGRADE your system by using the USB install method?
27.Posted by datarunner (torrent uploader) on Nov 14 2009 at 21:24
You can only upgrade from Vista to 7
So you could just mount your Windows 7 .ISO using something PowerISO and run setup from there.
If your .ISO was on another system you could use this method to create a bootable USB then plug into the Vista system and go to the USB drive root and run setup.
So yes you can upgrade

@datarunner
i have Windows XP i am currently using i want to upgrade to Window 7
so i will just use this tool to create a bootable USB, and i dont have to format my drive C anymore?
will it automatically reformat my drive c?
or i would have to do that manually? then reboot using the USB after?

10. Type format fs=fat32 and hit ENTER could also be 10. Type format fs=ntfs and hit ENTER since some .iso's are larger then 2gb and can not be stored on a fat32 file system
31.Posted by datarunner (torrent uploader) on Nov 15 2009 at 11:35
Hi There
You CANNOT upgrade from XP to Windows 7
FAT32 can handle files up to 4GB
Check your .ISO and USB drive

Why not install UBUNTU. Works great and no worries about CD keys, activation etc.
#15, don't you think M$ is monitoring and adding patches to eliminate the kracks and hacks. Why go through the hassle, when an equally good, if not better OS is available for free. My legit W7 is already giving me errors, BSOD after a M$ update, rolling back updates, who needs it. Vista all over again. BTW we are testing for a roll out/build (evergreen) for work machines, and NO I wouldn't have used W7 otherwise.

You have to have a legit .ISO from MS - This is only a guide on how to create a bootable USB for people with NO DVD drive like most netbooks!

Heres an Easy way to boot from your USB flash, pen, hard drive.
1: Make sure your pc can boot from a usb source.
2: Download the trial program UltraIso, and the iso vista or win 7.
3: Open UltraIso and under the bootable tab go to write disc image. Find your Vista or win 7 iso. Next pick the source of your usb. Once you got both done click on the write tab. when you hit write you will be warned that it will erase any info that is on the usb source.
Thats it just reboot your pc and set it up to boot from your usb. This method is for a clean install.
Take care and good luck.
P.s don't mean to step on your toes datarunner, just giving them a different option. That works, i know cause in the past 3 days i went from xp to vista to win 7 lol

Depending on what you want? 32 bit version or 64 bit version? for 32 bit download Blaze's torrent. For 64 bit version go into the top 40 wallpapers torrent and you'll find a link to hail_alpha 64 bit win 7

TO UNLOCK ALL WINDOWS 7 EDITIONS,
1) extract that ISO that u have downloaded to a particular folder and go to Source folder and look for ei.cfg file.
2) Use Notepad to edit and save this file by change desired EditionID. Valid EditionIDs are:•Ulimate
•Ultimate
•Professional
•HomePremium
•HomeBasic
•Starter
3) save it n create an image file aka iso
ps : To get all editions - Just delete the ei.cfg file and finally create the bootable ISO and burn your unlocked disc.
this is much easier than having to download different windows 7 editions.
