What is the contribution of VistaGlazz 2.0 over Windows7? What it does?

This is app is extremely simple, but performs an essential and possibly complicated task for Windows Vista customizers. It patches several DLLs that control Vista's appearance so that users can alter Vista to their liking. It's also freeware, making it a viable workaround for those who want to tweak Vista but don't want to pay for it. It also changes Aero so that it stays in effect on maximized screens.

There's not much else to the program. It absolutely will not work with Vista Service Pack 1 Release Candidates. If you install Vista Glazz before removing the SP1 RC, simply uninstall the app and then SP1, and then reinstall the program. The interface is basic, there are no skins provided, and the EULA gives off the vague stench of unfounded fear.

Nevertheless, if you're looking for a simple solution to a potential nightmare, Vista Glazz may be the first step you'll need to take to pretty up Vista just the way you want.

I remember trying a uxTheme patcher back around when vista first came out. Would this be same as that? As it'd be nice to get the directX 10 look on directX 9 but the one i tried didn't really do that i don't believe. Sorry all i'm trying to say i guess is, is this a newer version?

@Borea: JOJO-ksa is right you can use VistaGlazz to patch your dlls in Windows 7 to allow custom visual styles. Normally you can only use the Aero look supplied by Microsoft. If you apply a different .msstyle your system will fall back to Windows Classic look.

@JOJO-ksa: thnx for the explanation. This version is not limited to Windows Vista, but now supports Windows XP SP3 and Windows 7 as well. I agree the EULA might scare off some users, and I'm very confident that version 2.0 is rock stable and shouldn't cause any problems. However when it comes to patching system files, it's good to take caution (one of the reasons we've made VistaGlazz)

@Whoayea: This is a brand new version, I'm not sure if you tried VistaGlazz. In case you try it, let me know if you liked it
