If you downloaded the 880MB "single-disc" version of Red Alert 2 and can't install Yuri's Revenge on top of it, here's how I managed to do it:
(If you don't know how to do some of these things, search for instructions on google)
Open the Registry Editor and add these string values to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / Software / Westwood / Red Alert 2
1. Name: InstallPath Value: the location of your Ra2.exe, for example C:\Games\Red Alert 2\Ra2.exe (be sure to include the filename at the end, otherwise it will copy the files to C:\Games in this example)
2. Name: Name Value: Red Alert 2 (not sure if this one's necessary)
Then you should be able to install the game since it can now detect Red Alert 2.

When that's done, go to the Red Alert 2 folder, make the files RA2MD.exe, YURI.exe and gamemd.exe run in Windows 98 compatability mode.
Then find, download and install the Yuri's Revenge 1.001 patch
The game should work now, although I'm still getting an error where my units and buildings explode a lot for no reason and I can't do any missions. Saw it mentioned somewhere earlier, but haven't found a solution yet.
PS. If the game still doesn't run, you might also want to add another string value to the registry, this time to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / Software / Westwood / Yuri's Revenge
Name: Serial Value: whatever the keygen gives you
Probably isn't necessary, but it was one of the things I did as well.

Ah, got it, the exploding was a copy protection measure. The keygen doesn't generate proper keys, use this one:

All i get is the comment cannot detect red alert 2?
I did the above and added C:\Program Files\Westwood\Red Alert 2\Ra2.exe (where my games located) to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / Software / Westwood / Red Alert 2 as a string value and added the data value Red Alert 2.
Cannot get it to install as it cannot detect ra2 disk.
Any help? (i downloaded the Red Alert 2 - Complete modded to work with XP-++Demonoid com++ 880.14mb

SEE RICK RUN.....if you wanna learn something new and try something I msure your not to use too for games follow the instructions provide by justice..I tried it and it worked. Now for red alert 2 you need to find a crack www.gamecopyworld.com but check your version get 1.03 patch and then the crack of the site.

If you get the modded version of red alert 2 from demoid the one that says made for xp its cracked and ready to go.Then if you follow justice steps for the expansion pack then it should all work fine.

If you have red alert 2 orginal version then you wont have any problems with instaling this torrent it works fine tested and ran.
the key gen doesnt work so heres a a key that worked just fine

I have red alert 2 original version installed, so the registry strings are already there. This may be a stupid question, but how do I use the .bin and .cue files to install Yuri's? I have them in the RA2 folder, but I can't figure out how to use them.

ok i got a torrent from torrent spy which is just the game, no cutscenes, no online play or anything jus the campains
i got the yuris revenge torrent from this site and cant use it at all like no siralgen thing comes up y?

You need a program caled Deamon Tools... and its free to download... just google it... then use it to mount the cue /bin file.

For those whso Units are blowing up after 30 seconds.
This is a thing done by WestWood that if you are not using a proper CD then they will blow up (did I say a offical 1 though?).
The way to solve it? Burn the image file (Alcohol 120%) then install from that
Then when you want to play the game just insert the CD you made.
It worked for me on RA2 (Without Yuris)

burn the image files onto a disc first using nero or another burning software. If you have the 800mb version of RA2 and this game wont install what you have to do is what Justas has said but in more simplified terms: click start, Run, then type in "regedit" and then go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / Software / Westwood / Red Alert 2 , then right click and select New>String Value. then name it "InstallPath". Then click somewhere so it gets created and right click on it again and click "modify". then wheere it says "value data" type in the directory where your main game file is. then find and install the 1.001 patch and select the files mentioned by justas to run in windows 98 compatibility mode and you're done!!! good copy

I get the same problem as 'russellcam'. I too have installed the same version of Red Alert 2 and have the same problem. Has anyone found out a solution yet. If not im going to have to download the original.

Theres a problem to solve the cant find of Red Alert 2.
Uninstall it and reinstall it, then either burn the Image to a cd or use Daemon tools to mount it, then install that, update and play.
Can it be played online?

This is a proper, working Yuri's Revenge [PATCH]
For the people who don't understand.
In order to install this patch, you must have a working [Red Alert 2]
This is just the [Yuri's Revenge Expension]
And yes it does work!

i have installed red alert 2. i loaded the image onto deamon tools in order to instal it. but now when i try to run it, it tells me to insert the correct cd and try again. at this point i go to deamon tools and re mount either the allied or solviet image. neither of the 2 work. it still asks me to insert the correct cd. any solutions???

u guys say a lot of thinks............ with nothing senses seriously ., red alert2 command & conqueres dont think never give us problems i only haf troubles with the yuris i make it run with the think say modee for 95 9 8 200 me etc is install ok but takes ages to load stuck cant play misions =( anyones haf a versions fix it for xp ?

I got RA@ from wired ver 1.001. added the registry installed path and it and replaced it with the crack. also dl another no cd for ver 1.001 already patch it also to 1.00 but when i play the game its just blank. perhaps it my system its xp sp3 with aug 2007 dx files

I need help, I keep getting an error with "Main Executable for Yuri's Revenge has encountered a problem and needs to close", I installed an original version of Red Alert 2, and put in a Real CD-Key for Yuri's Revenge, I put the crack in the folder too, but this error keeps popping up! Help me

nvm, if you are having the problem I had, just do this:
Right Click on the Yuri's Revenge.exe. Click Properties. Click on the Compatibility TAB. In the Compatibility Mode section Click the BOX next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for" then Click the Down Arrow and select "Windows 98/ Windows ME". At the bottom Click "OK".

if it asks you to insert the game it means you havent mounted the image, on the DT icon in your taskbar right click, go to cd/dvd, choose mount image and browse for the orginal CUE file which is where you downloaded it.

hey i installed yuri's revenge today and i keep gettin a message sayin yuri's revenge has encounterd an enternal error and is unable to continue normally, plzzzzzzz can some one help me!!
i also tried installin an update and all it says is old file not found however a file of the same name was found no updates were done since the contents dont match

i Downloaded Red Alert 2 from http://www.mininova.org/tor/1541478, installed it.I didn't actually installed it but it is now running well, and then i want to install this expansion. But when i open it with PowerIso(i know how to use PowerIso ), click Autorun.exe or Setup.exe, it goes well.. not after i enter the Serials, hit "OK", then it is stucked at 0%.. and it says that Game1.cab cannot be opened or something.. idunno wut to do now.
I'll try to burn the image, maybe it's a big deal to just burn it.. I'm using Vista anyway. Where can i find a no-cd Yuri?
