Ok i've gotten in installing but now I have to type in the Serial Number. I used the first one you gave that you said would work but it didn't It wont' even let me hit continue when I type in a serial number and it asks for Name and Organization (that screen). So please help

Ok I lied lol. The SN did work. But it says on my mac that I need additional CD's? What do I do now? For installing other things it says that :/ What do I do!?

Hey guys, finished the download, installer working fine, serial numbers working, however, it's asking me to insert the additional disks you get with FCP, anywhere within the .dmg that I can burn to disk? Any suggestions to get around this? Thanks.

The Final Cut Pro program works fine, after installing the AppleQmasterNode in the extras folder, it's installing the other's I'm having trouble with. I downloaded this primarily for the use of Motion. Any help?

alright some of you need to start using your head before you ask stupid questions. this is a 978MB file. during the package installation it asks you to choose which programs you want to install. notice that many of the programs listed are multiple gigabytes in size. there is no way a 978MB file can decompress to multiple gigabytes...which means for the ignorant...this download is not the complete studio package (the complete package is 30GB). however...this portion of the package does include fcp (version 5.01). sooo...when you are installing the package don't put checkmarks on programs other than fcp (or else it will ask you to insert other discs that you don't have) because they are not included in this download...get it? jesus christ.

by the way after fcp installed i tried to run the program and it stalled...restarted my computer and fcp stalled again...anyone else having this prob?

Final Cut Pro is stalling on your machine undoubtably because it is a VERY heavy program...

I am using a PAID FOR copy of final cut 5, running on a quad core (2 x 2.66GHz) with 4GB oh memory and it still crashes when I am working multiclips...

Sorry to say this, but get used to it... Make sure you have NO other programs running.... that might help a little.

Works fine on my mbp w/ 2 gigs ram. Install this, get the UB upgrade and you'll have even smoother sailing. The cat who pointed out that it was a "heavy" program (and he _paid_ for it, which is cool) was right. If you want to edit with fcp, you need to realize that you have to didicate your machne to the fcp studio apps. I can run compressor, fcp, dvd studio at one time but not quickly. Takes a couple hours to render a modest compilation. To put it another way-- FCP Studio ain't a toy. It's like photoshop in 3-d with sound and countless variables. If you don't have a professional need for it, or are not looking for such, just play with iDvd.

Hey there, I'm having troubles with the "install final cut studio" package when i mount the DMG image. I double click and it tells me that "the destination folder 'installer' is on a locked volume. Please select another destination."

Any ideas?

I burned the image to a cd using my disk utility, but the same thing happened.

Daddylo, have you tried installing say, Final Cut HD (which you can find torrent for here on mininova) or some other recent, but older version first and then upgrading? That seems to have solved the problem for me, everything is running swell. For the other dude's question, yep, this is a MAC app.

Rippanippa, please don't bash folks for asking questions in a forum designed for that purpose. After all, you are here too, because there is something you don't know , and we don't point out your stupidity. Nuff said.

I will agree that if your needs are modest, iMovie is not a bad call (*iDVD is not for editing video, rather its purpose is to author DVDs). If all you want to do is splice some video together, and maybe do a voiceover with some music, then stick to the simple stuff (iMovie) and save yourself valuable time with the learning curve. Life is short. Stop reading this and go shoot some video!

Oh ya, Daddylo...even though I don't have an AGP video setup, I still installed the HD version (because I wasnt going to use it anyway, the AGP is not an issue). When you upgrade, it wont matter anymore. Just trash the HD stuff left behind (or, maybe you are lucky enough to have HD video card?)

snowybaron_1 it's going to say you put in an updated FCP serial, so it's then going to ask you for the 3 remaining serials (motion, FCP HD and DVD studio pro) which are provided in comment 2. when you have filled those in you'll be ready to go.

I just finished installing it and worked pretty good and It's getting updated as I type.
It runs on MacBook,OS X Leopard. that's what I have.
for those who still have trouble installing it,just uncheck everything except the first one which Final Cut Pro and that's it. after it's done installing,when you run it for the first time,just use the given serial number(2nd post) and you'll be good to go. LOCK and LOAD

Yay Figured it all out!!!!! ok let me tell you this yshould work if youare having problems clicking ok and having trouble finding the other old sn numbrs.First off for the peeps who can click ok: where it askes you to type the sn number click once the drag down while clicking so you highlight all the onese you already enetered until you delete them all. you can all so just hold down deleete til there are none left. it is wierd cuz it stores all the onces you previously entered plus the new one and hides them???dont knw why...but another thing is on comment two for the main sn number it says, "If this 5.0 With the update-SN D-343-CLH-206-QGO-350-IQL-134-RXN-STP where it says -sn D the serial number really strts at d not sn.
Also this is for every one: when you finish typing in the sn number and click ok there should be a meessage on tje next box stating that this sn you entered was an updated one then askes you for three old ones. they are all in comment 2! This should help! happy st. patrics day!!!

working well here on MBP - no stalls, heavy yes, but if you configure your system correctly, it will run smooth as silk

p.s. If you allocate enuf memory for its use, you can use other apps while still maintaining a decent processing speed.

Hey does anyone have a valid serial number for final cut pro 5.1? I got it from am upgrade of 5.0. The serial number I have (d-342-ggj-206-qgs-307-mob-170-rxk-stq), is telling me it's a corrupt serial number. I'm lost, please if anyone has any ideas??
