Don't know what aXXo use but the following programs will get a DvD to around 700mb!

Ashampoo Movie Shrink & Burn 2 or Auto GK either way takes a life time though!!!

glad to see a 1.37GB file from aXXo. Kisskool, stop being a drama queen.

8.Posted by kerplunk on Feb 21 2007 at 03:25

why so big? i had the same question for return of the king. i realize it is long so needs to be bigger than 700mb, but most other 2hr+ films were around 800mb. is this better quality than most aXXo rips?

9.Posted by lazypunk on Feb 22 2007 at 21:40

what about subtitles when they speak in elven language ??

10.Posted by chopstickslapper on Feb 22 2007 at 22:15

OK I just tried DVD Fab Platinum and it is the best I have used so far,

Ripped a 4.7 gig DVD to a 765mb Avi AC3 divX and it only took 35 minutes!!!

Auto GK takes 5 hours, DVD Fab also does MP4s for Ipods & PSPs!!!

It played back perfect too no sync issues!

I found the answer to my question- 2 avi files because the movie itself is on 2 discs, that's why so big

Help me please!! I downloaded (took a week), converted to mp4 with Videora, but it won't open in Itunes. This is my 2nd attempt. Can anyone tell me what to do?

18.Posted by sunshine68 on May 05 2007 at 11:17

Don't know why everyone is calling this such a good download when there are no subtitles for when they are speaking Elvish.

19.Posted by Faraday72 on May 10 2007 at 11:10

Hasnt anyone noticed that the opening credits arent in english? although it is of course of wonderful and clear quality, a heads up that I'd be watching 'El Senor de los Anillos' woulda been nice. So if there were elvish subtitles I'd suspect ya'd need to brush up on your spanish :? :P

Hello. I want to thank Axxo for this great movie! But I've a question; Is this really the extended movie because there are 30 minutes of credits so the movie takes 192 minutes of fim instead of 208 minutes (see imdb.com)or soes this 208 minutes also includes credits?

23.Posted by virus0686 on Jun 13 2007 at 18:32

I'm wondering the same thing...how can this be the extended edition when its runtime is listed as 01:41:19 / 01:57:21? The extended edition runs at around 200 mins. So what's up with this?

24.Posted by M_E_M on Jul 18 2007 at 08:14

Can u rip all LOTR Extended films to at least 2GB each movie? Because video quality is not that good. thx

Personally disappointed in this one. Many dark scenes in this movie, and all of them are heavily pixelated.

picture: 6/10
audio: 9/10

working english subtitles can be found here...

No english subtitles for Elvish parts, and when it shows the actual title of the movie it's written in spanish (it says "el senor de los anillos";), although all the other opening and closing credits are in english. Video quality is pretty good considering how long the movie is and fit onto 2 CDs. Sorry but the spanish title ruins it for me, I'll look for another version. (btw all 3 from axxo are the same as this, ie. spanish title, no english subtitles).

English subtitles is here:

Awesome torrent as always....
with ONE drawback that annoyed the hell outta me...

The problem is if you want to merge the two avi files. Usually, that goes smooth, but with these two it didn't.
It seems the two files have different sampling rates which causes the problem. I solved it though - Found a guide over at AfterDawn.
-> http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/309635
Hope this helps someone. :-)

Was really annoying.
But, then again, I'm not really computer savvy. ;-)

I am pretty new to mininova, but i can tell already that this aXXo guy is really good. Thanks! :)

35.Posted by j_Lp on Mar 16 2008 at 18:49

as to post 33. you're right one cd1 is at 48k and cd2 is 44.1k kind of a pain when trying to append the 2 segments but even after reencoding the audio from both cd's to 48k then rejoining the audio and video for each cd, after joining the cd's together with the 48k sample rate the entire 2nd half of the movie keeps ending up out of sync with the audio about 3 seconds early. the odd thing is the first half is synced fine?

Hm, Axxo, downnload speed of your torrents is really slow, sometimes it's a pain to download file larger than 700MB... Have you ever thought about starting your own tracker with certain rules (eg. ratio at least 1.0)? Many people here are hit-and-runners and that's really a shame in the bittorrent world. Or maybe if Mininova applied some rules for certain torrents ;)
