I don't know how, maybe the latest version has a serial blacklist, but I managed to get the core serial banned in my machine. And I had been using his version for a couple years now.
Anyway, I couldn't get it to work without an online serial verification.
So I tried editing it with hexedit, but I couldn't remember squat from crack playing days(java has ruined my already not-so-leet skillz 
)
