dunno what you're saying thanks for, screwing up your macs? This thing got to about 3000 installed fonts when everything just froze and i had to restart. my mac has not worked the same since, keeps freezing, everything's slow as hell and microsoft office doesn't open because it keeps detecting corrupt fonts and they "should be removed". during installation the font JesusLovesYourSister was found to be corrupt too.

there's no way for me to roll back to before the install either... im screwed. THANKS.

ever heard of font doctor??? This app scans for corrupted typefaces. After that, you should use a font manager to select the fonts you want installed. You didn't just install all 3000 fonts at once right???? :P

Hey guys,

I have the same problem. Before installing (actually I did not install just used a Font Manager) I ran the Font Doctor, and removed the corrupt fonts.
Now all the apps run fine EXCEPT for the Microsoft Word and all the Fonts I used to use here in Safari or Mail or Skype everything has changed.

Font doctor cannot detect any corrut fonts, anyway, I can't use Microsoft Word, maybe re-installing could be an option...

So please if anyone knows what should I do lemme guys know,

Thanks a bunch

OK OK solved it!
Intalled Onyx, and it fixed everything.
Now it works fine.
Thank you Onyx!

Ppl - the best way to keep tabs on your fonts is probably a font management application such as Fontbook which is in the applications folder on your hard drive or Suitcase, a commercial app avilable here (make sure you have the right version for your flavour of OSX.

Don't install all the fonts, just double click the font file itself in the finder and it will open a window, you can see if you like the font and then just click the 'Install Font' button and it will be available. You can control your fonts from within Fontbook too.

In Suitcase just add the fonts to the library and they will automatically open in adobe apps and quark if you get the free plug-in from the relevent vendor's site. Or you can manually open the font in the Suitcase font browser where you can see the look of the font before use.

It's best to keep your constantly open fonts to a minimum to save your memory.

arush000 if you just installed 3000 fonts into your system, then you have nobody to blame for your own stupidity but yourself :D. Use Suitcase or font book. It's not surprising your system has turned into molasses. You need to open up your library folder and ditch all the fonts you added from your fonts folder.
