first off MANy thanks to dopeman for another great no install release!

second, if the game seems bugged its either because you dont know how to keep your computer away from p0rn&warez websites or its more than 5years old. were on the cutting edge see?

to open this game:
first open the folder where you dowloaded the game
right click on the .nfo, hit open with... notepad.
there you go, Instructions!

be sure to hit always use this program for this file type.

merc 91 what is your shader quality set at? the game appears very washed out when set to very low. it looks reeal nice on high.
it plays fine on my sis'... @640x480 celeron d w/ fx5200 64bit 128mb

Yea game is bugged for me too,textures have some kind of problem,and a some are missing.I had this game before.It wasn't dopeman's release it needed to install and crack and that 1 worked perfectly.But this 1 is bugged.Can someone pls post a fix of somekind or something??

I've installed the game without any problems, and thanks for that. However, after the introduction, it crashes and a new window appears which says: Penumbra exe. caused an EXCEPTIONAL_ACCESS_VIOLATION in module <UNKNOWN> at 001B:034A0356. Anyone know what's going on? I've been so looking forward to playing this game. :'(

I had this game befor and playd, then there wasent a single bug but now the graf glitches are so bad it makes my framerate wanna kill it self i don't get it. Sorry dopeman its not your release becasue i downloaded a full one but it was the same

This one has glitches and when i press esc, it goes to pause menu and stucks there :S kinda buggy i think... :S

NO people, the game works perfectly, the only problem here is your graphic cards! You guys that could not get the game running the way it should be, try getting a Geforce 6800 or 7600 AGP version or PCI express and 512MB in RAM or 1GB in RAM.

I had the same problem until i got myself a new graphic card Geforce 7600 AGP

Great game ,great work, I like to solve the puzzles and hide from those creepy dogs , If someone want Penumbra black plague you can download from www.isohunt.com ,it work for me but it's in Russian (download 1.51 GB not that 629 MB),I use daemon tool to install and switch to disk 2 when it ask, When you start the games ,don't forget to use daemon tool with disk 2 because disk 1 only use for installation and it need the crack ,just copy and paste when you finish the installation. Thanks dopeman and sorry for my bad English (It will be great if I find the English version of black plague that really work from Alpha to Omega )

I can't run the game. When I click on the exe shortcut it says penumbra.exe not found and then displays a message "the dirive or network location the shortcut refers to is unavailable"

1: The game was freezing when I tried to go to the game's menu but i downloaded the patch like vcrproszek(no. 24) said and now it works like a charm, so thanks, man!

2: @ theredgiant: you have to change the target location for the shortcut. dopeman set it to D:\Gaming\Penumbra\redist\Penumbra.exe. All I had to do was to change 'Gaming' with 'Games'. And also change the icon for the shortcut with either penumbra.exe from the 'redist' folder or penumbra.ico from the 'installation' folder

3: @ arman0116: the sava data is in My Documents\Penumbra Overture\Episode1

everything works good after i download and apply the 1.03 official patch...but textures seem to be missing...like in the snow level, ground is invisible...and in the mine...the walls are invisible...now what do i do?
