remove the uif (iso) file from the installation dirctory. Move it to a subfolder. Run the Setup. (If does not work - restart the pc and run the Setup)

I'm having the same problem... Mounted the .iso with Daemon Tools v4.08 (all emulation options on), installer starts, asks for language and destination folder and everything, but then says "Insert Adobe Indesign CS3"
I also tried burning the iso to a real CD and installed from there, same problem.
If I copy the files from the iso / CD to some folder on my hdd and install from there (the iso file itself is not in that dir of course), then still the same problem.
I tried another copy which contained a .UIF instead of .ISO, which I mounted with MagicISO, but also same problem there.
Does anyone know how to get this working?? I assume it's some copy protection, can it be avoided or disabled?

installation guide:
1. Disconnect your internet(Just Incase, probably not neccessary)
2. Mount UIF Image with MagicISO or equivalent
3. When the installer appears, if the option Reinstall or remove appears choose remove
4. Once remove is finished exit the installer
5. Copy all files from the the mounted image to a folder on your hard disk
6. Unmount the UIF Image
7. Disable all Virtual Drives
8 . Exit all Emulation programs(MagicDisc, Daemon Tools, PowerISO, etc)
9. Navigate to the folder on your hard disk where you copied the install files
10. Run Setup.exe

well, i got the "insert adobe indesign disk" problem as well, and that's how i manage to resolve it:
I have first tried to mount a modified image named "ADBEIDSCS3" but it doesn't work.
then i have tried to modify "deploimentinstall.xml" in the cd root directory, i have found some posts where they suggest it, but nothing happen
then i tried to mount/burn different images with different names but nothing.
then i came here and found a solution...
8.Posted by peorthyr on Dec 29 2007 at 10:05
first of all run the installation, and select remove
this is the first and most important step, i'm sure some of the other solution may work too if you do this step.
i have copied all the content of the ISO on a directory on the HD and i have named it "Adobe InDesign CS3" without quotes and case sensitive.
9.Posted by peorthyr on Dec 29 2007 at 10:05
then, i have unmounted all the mounted drivers and exited from daemon tools (i have the 4.00).
run the installation program again and it's seems to work perfect, but...........
at a certain moment it ask for "adobe premiere pro cs3" disk ....
well i have installed it some time ago, now i'm downloading it again to try to finish this installation, well i'm sure it will go smooth...
anyway it seems that this solution is working....

in any case....
THANKS Guardian-Mage. you have make me see the solution after countless hours spent on this installation....

Never mind the other "solutions".
All you have to do is mount the images and copy its contents to your computer. Setup a folder on your desktop called "Adobe CS3". Inside that have another folder called "InDesign" and inside that one have another folder called "Adobe CS3". Move the copied contents of the disk to this last folder. It should include Setup.exe, payloads, redist.... I wouldn't have the crack inside that folder (you never know what the install code is looking out for...
It worked for me twice.
Best of luck.

Hpridham above is correct.
For all novices simply burn the file to disc with an iso burner.
When finished click my computer, click CD Drive. click explore and copy and paste the indesign icon to your desktop and open.
copy public.dll file to adobeindesign files in payloads file. click install when install is finished close install menu and start programme
it will ask you to register click try free for 30 days. finished!! done!! Simply delete indesign folder on desktop as programme is now installed. It works
Power to the People!

Thanks for your help Peorthyr!!! I installed InDesign succesfully. It never prompted me for that Adobe Premiere pro CS3 though, thank God!
I did the following:
Mount the daa file with Power ISO
Copy all files into a folder on my HDD that I created and named "Adobe InDesign CS3"
Moved the folder named "crack" into another directory
Unmount all drives and exit Power ISO
Start installation
Success!!!
Than I copied the file called public.dll into the InDesign directory in My Program Files replacing the original public.dll file
All done, and it works!
The animal testing ad at the beginning doesn't really bother me. Otherwise you'd have the InDesign banner instead for just as long of a waiting time, and I agree with the message anyways.
Thanks again Peorthyr - I was on a deadline, and you saved my butt big time!

Is this just an eval version or a full useable version with all the necessaries?
23.Posted by OoohYeeeah on Dec 01 2008 at 17:51
1. I downloaded Adobe_InDesign_CS3_v5_with_Crack
2. burned it (cursed it, as it requested the original CD
3. Clicked on: my computer, clicked CD Drive. clicked explore
4. I copied all its contents without the crack folder
5. I set up a folder on my desktop called Adobe CS3 . Inside that created a folder called InDesign and inside that one created another folder called Adobe CS3 . Then pressed Ctrl+v in this last folder, then run the setup file.
6. The installation run like an angel, and finished successfully.
7. Finally I copied crack/public.dll to program files/Indesign folder replacing the original public.dll file,
and it works for me as well!
Thank you Hpridham and gnasher2005! I could not do it without you.

0v3chkin:

I heard that if you mount the image, copy the contents of the disc, unmount the image and then run setup, you will not have that problem anymore..
Cheers!
