So what's the verdict??? Regardless I'm downloading, but is there any tips to make this work once I have it?

You can download it sure, and install it sure and even view it on your computer with Garmin's mapsource - the details are excellent - but when you try to upload the map to your garmin GPS, thats when it says that the license code is invalid and no matter what you do or how your try, it gets uploaded but you cant open/see it in your GPS. Well, that's my comments after trying for a few hours all ways I can.
Anyone had any luck so far? I really need a Germany map on my GPS as Im going there next week ... now Im blind as a bat without it...

Comment 4 by rsi_picard is correct, you can download, install it and generate the mapset and try uploading it to your device but thats when it moans about the maps being locked. Now I entered the unlock code before so am not going to risk transferring the maps to my gps with them still being locked.
Pls anyone found a work-around for this? I'm going to london in a few days time and wanted the updated maps. What a bugger.

But even though the unlock wizard confirms that the maps were unlocked,
I can´t see streets, just cities as one dot. But you can try and hope for better luck

WORKS GREAT!! Do not use unlock code provided or any others listed unless you just want the maps unlocked on your computer. If you want them on your GPS you must generate your own unlock codes as they are specific to each individual GPS. Use Garmin Unlock Utility - Keygen Utility - Originals by JetMouse which can be found at

Once downloaded open folder "02 - Garmin Keygen v1.2" start keygen and enter unit id and select "Map product" (europe v9) and press the generate button at the bottom. (You do not need the key from the upper box)
For GPS unit ID on my C330 street pilot and many others turn on your gps go to configuration menu (the little wrench) then "system" and then "about" and this will display Unit Id.

Ok I got a nuvi 650, a computer, this file that I just downloaded. I also got the keygen software. What the heck do I do now? WHat is MapSource???
What do I do with these files extension .MDS and .MDF?????
Help would be greatly appreciated.
