for people with protection problem
use latest daemontool (4.09)

when it asks to activite game, say yes and restart

then image it with securom on
use autorun (from the image) to start game

YEP! how easy is that, cheers.
If you have trouble upgrading Daemon tools from 4.08 to 4.09 like i did, u need to update your SPTD to 1.43. here:

Then its as easy as Enabling "Securom" under Emulation with DT.

Darn, when I start it (mounted with Daemon Tools 4.09 and securom emulation on as stated above) it seems to pass the DVD verification as the bar gets full and window goes away, but after that nothing happens, all I see is that DIRT.exe is still running in the processes at 99% cpu usage. Anyone else have this problem? Any solution or any idea what the cause could be?

I had the problem of not being able to start the game, I updated DTools to 4.09 and the SPTD*or whatever it's called* to v 1.47*or somethin*....

But that didn't work.....SOOOOO..... I made sure that the image was on the same drive as the games install directory(not on another drive like I had) and checked SECUROM emu only on DTools, re-mounted from the new location, then it loaded finally. Not sure if it matters, but I put the image(.mds and .mdf files) in the game directory itself and it now runs.

damnit, starforce makes me feel like an idiot every time. What am I doing wrong? Installed game, restared PC after installing starforce drivers. DT 4.09 (never had an older version on this PC) has Securerom emulation enabled. Launch DIRT from the autoplay, and it still fails the damn DVD check. What am I doing wrong? Also, I only had an MDF file when I decompressed, no MDS, the MDF mounts fine, but is this my problem maybe? Do I need to be mounting the MDS?

damn, finally figured it out. It was the MDS all along. Why the hell doesn't this torrent have the MDS file in it? Once I downloaded an MDS on its own and loaded that instead of the MDF the game loaded right up.

The MDS is included in this torrent.
After extraction, the MDS and MDF should be in your extracted directory.

Personally, I'm having a few issues getting the game to work.
Running DTools 4.09 with updated SPTD Drivers under WinXP.

Mounting the MDS using SecureROM emulation, the game will only launch successfuly maybe 1/5 attempts.

I m back....didn't work for me...
I mounted it with deamon 4.9, I have a Asus 6800 GE (wich support shader 3.0) .I used crack CLONE exe (tried without as well), passed the protecion but the game doesn't launch, I got an DIRT.exe error.....
I used securom loader to load it, and also ried without.
Anyone an idea??

You dont get it, your card either supports it or doesnt. NVIDIA side 6xxx series and above all support shader model 3.0

Those of you who've managed to get this working:
How? After mounting the mds with daemon tools, the autorun launches, i hit play and then the 'checking disk' dialogue appears. The progress bar gets to the end, it fires no errors but equally no success messages and then returns to the desktop.
I'm running c2d w/ 8600m gt, is this an issue with integrated sound? how to diagnose?

assuming that i never used the dtools and don't know what to do with mdf file to mount the mds as you guys said, can anybody please explain what to do?

some stuff is easy to learn by just reading comments here, but i'm lost in this one...

i downloaded the file, but don't know how to make it works. I have installed the dtools, activated the securom option turning it to green, but after that i coudn't understand what to do with the mdf file.

i tried a lot of things, but always got the same answers... wrong code, check fail... please, need some help this time.
